    I'm very pleased with the fact that I'm not the only one who has noticed this, the words I would use for the types of response curves iv noticed are Smooth/Normal (ex. Normal Xbox Controller) and Aggressive (ex. Fusion Pro or any of the budget PDP Controllers like the Rematch Series Controllers for Xbox Series X/S) the best way iv tried explaining this to my buddies is "with a Controller that has the Aggressive Response Curve, moving the joystick about 20% from centre would be equivalent to 50% from centre on a Smooth/Regular Response Curve Controller like a Normal Xbox Controller that would come with the console and what that means in a game like COD aiming feels more "Responsive/Quicker" and the reason for me why I think that's better then the Smooth/Regular Response Curve is because it makes Controlling Recoil on a gun far easier as I only need to move the joystick down a little less then I would have to on a Smooth Response Curve plus the added benefit of Aim Assist in COD basically makes any gun I wield a Lazer Gun"

    Yet again you go above and beyond with these videos, I've have actually bought all these controllers in the past and the way you've described them are spot on., Something about the gambit keeps me going back to it over the rest. It's such a shame the build quality of the sticks are poor. They feel nice but i've had 4 gambits over the past year. 3 month mark it always seems to start messing up. I'm not sure if it's the actual stick or if it's grime/dust build up that causes the sticks to glitch out, I've got a can of contact cleaner coming i'm hoping this fixes the gambit

      Bro tell me about it man, there is something PDP Victrix have done with those favoruion sticks, it just feels right. One thing i sthe position of the modules and having no outer deadzone so only the physical thumbstick gate acting as the max I think helps with the feel. It's like it helps build muscle memory for aiming where I just feel so accurate moving the aim. Another thing could be the screen setup and the input lag, so depending what are screens are like, those built in centre deadzones kinda work in our favor.
      I'm honestly checking to see if there are other controllers using the favor union sticks, you won't believe my excitement when I opened the Eswap s module to find the orange caps, but those are C&K but looks very much like the favorunion's.
      Have to say I've been very lucky with my gambit so far. The only issue I have is the trigger's spring seems to have lost tension and they ar ehyper sensitive, so much so I have to use lik ethe third stop and increased the minimum deadzone alot to not have any accidental actuation. Thanks alot for your support bro, I honestly believe as gamers we are all connected and we'd never want any of us to have a bad experience. i'm hoping all the info in the comments will help others as well.

    Interesting video. In games which offer a linear response curve I prefer smooth feeling of the sticks - g7 se. If it comes to shooters with usual response curves (most of them) then I prefer “quick aiming sticks” - powera advantage (cheaper version of fusion pro 3).

      I’ve been looking at the advantage for a review, as I do love PowerA stuff. The aiming response option is a really good feature in COD, but I do prefer standard as I think the screen input lag plays a role, where if I chose linear it kinda feels off for me, and the delayed response of standard makes me feel connected to the aim. I’m playing on a cheap 144hz monitor so I think that’s the factor. I have to say the quick response controllers with precision rings are something else man!

      Hey I was thinking the same trying different controllers and feeling the difference in aiming. It could be that there is no standardised algorithm naming, I just described them as smooth and hyper, in reality I’m sure the internal terms might be different. I know the elite series 2 give you options of Radial, axis independent & true diagonals options in the accessories app, but they only apply if you change the response curve a bit and don’t do anything in the standard setting. @@thephototechy Photo Techy, the problem with firmware-forced deadzones is that when the game forces a deadzone as well, they combine together. If the controller has a 10% forced deadzone, and the game you're playing has input begin at 10% then that means you now have a 20% deadzone. It's why it may feel "fine" in some games, but terrible in others. I ran into this problem with the Razer Wolverine v2 which had a 20% forced deadzone. The controller was simply unusable in most games.

    So is the gambit the most default feeling type of controller? Meaning more like a basic xbox controller? I bought the Fusionpro 3 and I notice that twitch you mention with the aiming and honestly not really fan of it.
    When i warm up on aimlabs, the difference in aiming between the stock xbox controller and FP3 is really noticeable. It doesnt feel as drastic in game though as it does on aimlabs but it still seems off and i much prefer the aiming/response curve of a stock xbox controller.

    • @thephototechy
      @thephototechy  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hey the gambit is definitely closer to the stick Xbox controller but a lot better for me personally, I do feel those favorunion sticks in gambit have a unique quality to them, it’s like the aim stops exactly when I intended it to. Please bare in mind there’s other factors as well, like my screen input lag that can play a part in this as well.
      For the FP3 try and add a bit of a deadzone in the middle and see if that twitchy kinda a uncomfortable feeling goes away. For me personally Gambit and then the Raikiri from ASUs are the top 2 best aim feel controllers of my liking, hope this helps.

    • @thephototechy
      @thephototechy  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey so the Hall effect sticks are definitely different, specially what you mentioned about the stopping where you want them. The best I’ve experienced with a smooth response are the Victrix Gambit’s sticks which are the Favorunion’s highest model, but gambit has built in deadzone which can’t be disabled and that might be a deal breaker for some. Currently I’m working on a review of the thrustmaster EswapS and to my surprise they are using C&K modules which look and match specs with favorunion’s but the company is completely different, and these C&K are performing very good, but thrustmaster has a software based response and outer deadzone. Then we have the Alps and the best feeling alps I’ve experienced are in the Razer chroma, dualsense edge and if the ASUs Raikiri has alps then that’s an absolute amazing feeling response as well.
      The Hall effect sticks are showing some limitations, like that diamond logo shape within the max boundaries and I do feel that stopping on command to be a bit off and kinda need adjusting to. One benefit of the Hall effect is the long term degradation, where the potentiometer lose alot of resolution (something I’ll be showing in an upcoming video) the Hall effects can potentially be recalibrated to the desired response with in the active area. I personally miss that sorta friction and dampening when playing with Hall effect sticks.
      So I’d go Hall in but the issue I have, is at times I play with the standard controller wirelessly and going back and forth between hall and potentiometer is a bit of a mess, you really need to adjust to the change every time, and at times you just don’t have the time 😂 So for that reason I’d probably stay with potentiometer until we get a good wireless Hall effect option.

I myself havent replaced a stick module yet, but I have replaced the potentiometers to fix some issues. I actually want to learn soldering so I can change the modules myself, its something I'll be purchasing next.
      For controllers I love the Gambit for its response curve and amazing triggers, but G7se just got a 1000hz update and the controller is feeling superb. I have a video planned for shooting in a day or two comparing the G7se 1000hz against the Gambit, FP3 and thrustmaster EswapX. I just want to explain the difference I'm feeling with the G7se 1000 on xbox.
      Gamesir did pull the update due to some issues so only the ones already got it can currenty use 1000hz. I think Gamesir controllers are getting real good at the value thing, honestly at their price point you wont find a competitor. gambit is definitely a more complete controller for me but its more expensive, Rematch I'd only recommend as a second controller, it does perform really well but has cheaper sticks and potentiometer triggers which can also have problems, also those cheaper sticks in rematch I wasn't able to find them on Amazon, but the higher ones in Gambit I found easily.

    • @thephototechy
      @thephototechy  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey I know what you mean about the Gambit, I think the combination of Favorunion modules and a true raw stick output makes the Gambit feel so good. G7se on the other hand has given us 2 options with normal mode and Raw mode, I personally like the snappy feeling of raw mode on the SE. One tip I can give you is to try normal Xbox series controller thumbsticks on the G7se, the shaft diameter is a bit thicker on them so it reduces the active area, making them feel snappy in the normal circular mode. You do need to calibrate the controller after installing them.
      I think we need to get used to the Hall effect sticks feel as the industry is moving in that direction, Turtlebeach has just announced their premium controller and it’s using the Ksilver Hall effect sticks as well. I wish they had used the favorunion Hall effect sticks but we’ll see which controller use them first and how they’ll feel.

      The lightest in my collection with amazing trigger stops is the Snakebyte's gamepad pro. weighs 217-218g on my scales and I actually really liked the triggers on that controller, the springy feeling with dampened noise is really really good. The Raikiri is another one at 223g but the trigger stops are like a normal harsh stop and cuts 80% of pull, hope this helps.

    What button do you press for crouch ? Ar 6:36 that crouch fire was very clean !

      Hey I always keep the left back button crouch and right for jump. From the old claw days it’s kinda been right hand for jump, I know alot of people do it the other way round. For a while I tried jump and crouch both on the left side on elite 2, but with so many controllers having only 2 back buttons, assigning the crouch to left hand and jump to right makes me being able to use them properly, hope this helps bro.

      Hey you testing plans sounds amaizng. The Fusion pro 3 seems to have only 1% deadzone after the recent update, Gambit feels in the realm of 5% and more maybe. Razer Chroma has the option to reduce the built in deadzones in the app but doesn't completely disable them. Gamesir G7 allows us to completely disable the deadzone, hope this helps.

      Perfecto probaré el g7 porque con el g7se no me fue muy bien. Notaba los sticks muy lentos y poco receptivos para controlar el recoil.

      Yeah the previous firmware did feel sluggish to me as well, the new update has transformed the raw mode for the better.

    Question. Do you know if the razer wolverine v2 has the same response time/sticks as the v2 chroma? Asking because I don’t need the extra back buttons because I claw. Thanks.

      Hey I can’t say for sure, the chroma is 250hz and locked as I did try the overclock and it stayed at 4ms. One would think the V2 should be the same as well but I can’t say that it’s 100% 250hz.

    Do Precision rings works fine on g7 se?

    • @thephototechy
      @thephototechy  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey so the Ksilver sticks on G7se do sit a tiny bit lower in the shell than the alps on G7, but with the recent update fix of the raw mode I’m using the green precision rings with no problem and loving the result, hope this helps.

    Hey bro, can you make google so i can download joy tester 2? I cant find it on the site.

      Hey man so I think the thread from rise of flight is gone now. Im a bit worried about sharing this due to any potential software issues. I did find it again through the link below for my other computer and it’s exactly the same program, but please only download it at your own discretion. There is another way to test the sticks and that’s VPC joystick tester and that one is legit so definitely check that one out as well.
