Reading these comments it is like some people are angry at the development & investments that are taking place all across the country of Jamaica after decades of stagnation. I wonder why?
Portmore Jamaica 🇯🇲 is a beautiful city but the focus is always on the Montego Bay, The Ocho Rios, the Kingston parts of Jamaica 🇯🇲 . why Jamaicans 🇯🇲 forget that Portmore is the largest fastest growing area in the english speaking caribbean.
Jamaica appears to be progressing however, at what cost? What kind of deal was struck with the Chinese who I'm assuming is responsible for this project. I just hope engineers from Jamaica are working on this project and are in influential roles? I understand Jamaica may have had make some kind of deal but the deal most be weighted to prosper Jamaica and not just the foreign investor. By the way great shots from the drone.
Boom!!!! Someone hit the nail on the head…..These beautiful, shiny buildings on TH-cam always fool Jamaicans into thinking we are progressing, but roads, public buildings and infrastructure, water supply throughout the island are in a deplorable condition.
Why the Red??? Every building that goes up have red in it, or somthing close to Red. Red is not a classey colour or anything like that, so why are we so obsessed with Red???
And yellow. In the past, these colours were widely used on the entirety of buildings, and I think we have started to realize that they are not aesthetically pleasing on modern commercial buildings. And those with far limited knowledge on how to use these colours will also apply them to homes as well.
What colors should they have used to be more aesthtically pleasing? White grey beige? Like every website and building in the Eurocentric cities that you are used to. Aesthetics is also cultural so what Europeans find attractive and pleasing may differ elsewhere.
It’s good to see these developments on TH-cam about Jamaica, but honestly, they don’t positively impact the lives of the majority of Jamaicans. Kingston, Portmore, Montego Bay, Mandeville, Ocho Rios is where the majority of development is taking place; but the rest of the island? Roads, water supply, public building maintenance is terrible. Every government including this one has failed to institute a broad based road improvement and water supply plan for the country. Of course every road can’t be fixed, but they are not even attempting to fix 50% of them.
@@dpark1964 You obviously dont, the person made a good comment. If it aint for Jamaicans it makes no sense. They are now looking to outsource workers to come to Jamaica to work in these areas instead of getting Jamaicans from the rural areas whom are left out. This is a joke investment, people need investment that create jobs for regular hardworking people .
Why don't you invest your money. Typical socialist want to tell people how to invest their own money.
Jobs? Jamaicans need to be the ones making the investment. Why should it be jobs when our employment rate is already low? We should be the investors
