    On this Pete Anderson Interview:
Pete has a unique level of confidence when he plays - it’s like you feel you’re in good hands with him. This isn’t something random, it’s something he specifically works on and he explains exactly how. His good and not so good experiences running a record label, studying under Howard Roberts at GIT, tolerance, James Brown tricks, and LOADS more cool stuff. GREAT convo!
Pete played with and produced Dwight Yoakam from 1984-2002, on loads of platinum records & sold-out tours. Pete’s also produced or played on records with Roy Orbison, The Meat Puppets, Tanya Tucker, Jackson Browne, Buck Owens, Steve Forbert,, Lucinda Williams & others. He’s also written and produced TV & movie soundtracks and released 8 solo LPs

Fantastic interview. I've always been a fan of Pete's guitar work on Dwight's music...had no idea he produced his records as well as countless records beyond that. Thanks for doing this.

I always feel that if somehow Pete and Dwight did it again, all the bullshit in country music would stop. I’m a longtime classic rock/ weekend warrior type guitarist. Pete was the Eddie Van Halen of country. Made a rocket ship out of playing that style. Love Pete, his music, his insight. All of it.

I agree , Pete was so good with Dwight 's music and the Bakersfield sound . It made the whole band feel full. Very muched missed.

Pete has a huge sound and confidence. He makes you want to pick up a tele! This interview is on point. Would be awesome if he and Dwight could work on another record. Even though Dwight has put out some great songs since the Pete era, it’s not been quite the same. The guitar solos and licks in the old stuff were almost as important as the melody. Thank you Pete, your work is awesome!

Pete & Dwight went through a lot together. Knowing that, I can see why the separation didn’t go well. There is no easy way to end a journey like that.
Also having a mind like Dwight, I can absolutely feel why he took the avoidant route. There was no other way.
For the ‘he should have just…’ people, don’t bother. You don’t and never will understand.

You know you’ve found a true genius when they express that the ‘man behind the desk’ is worthless (19 minutes in).
This is the wizard of Oz moment. Watch the late scene where the wizard is found to be a fraud, then he hands out the ‘gifts.’ Makes a mockery of the people in society who hide behind credentials/titles/diplomas/metals but have no real skills or knowledge to stand on.
