Hi! So pretty! My 3 yr old would love these! Im a beginner, never used a machine before.. What is the seam allowance when sewing? What is the tension What is the stitch length What is the stitch width? I feel overwhelmed, sewing is scary but you make it look so fun
Thank you 🥰 Don’t worry You’ll pick it up in no time! I was the same a few years ago, I’d bought my sewing machine when COVID first started and didn’t touch it for a year because I didn’t know where to begin! After watching several tutorial videos I finally got started! My advice is to purchase a machine then watch the instructional video that comes with that machine. I’ll try to put together a guide soon.
@@darahandmadeau Thank you!! I actually made my husband watch your videos today. He was hesitant about me buying a sewing machine because I often buy things and never use them! First it was TH-cam videos, then it making biscuits, then cake layering then I got into crochet then cricut 😄 Now I'm really interested in sewing!! He watched your video with me and he said what's her machine and he said I can buy it haha yay! How do you change the width and length of stitches on your machine? I've seen on the computerised machine there is a button but I don't know how I would do it on the JV1400 So when I sew close her scrunchies using your burrito method so the stitches are tiny? Also what string should I buy? I'm off to spotlight tomorrow Yay! Thanks heaps! I hope you get back into TH-cam again soon!
@@AussieMumVLOGS Your husband seems very sweet, I don’t think my husband’s ever sat through any one of my videos 😄 The stitches can be adjusted by turning the big knob, there are 14 on my machine. If you’re going to Spotlight tomorrow then might be best to ask the staff for a good beginner machine. Mine is okay but there might be better ones or better deals? Regarding the threads I’d usually just get the most basic ones, they’re 100% polyester and available in sets of different colours. They also have sewing kits with all the things you’d need to get started like scissors, threads, pins, etc. I hope that helps, all the best x
@@annieroy7200 I got it from Aldi, can’t remember the brand but it’s not a great one anyway. I’ve seen Olfa and Fiskars around, I think those are better 😊
@@ayash7290 the tulle layer with flowers (or outer layer) is 32 inches long. The elastic in this video is 7 inches, I also mentioned “your wrist size”, as I have rather small wrists. I’d say the standard size is 8 inches, but it depends how you close the elastic, sewing will lose very little length, whereas if you tie the two ends together, it loses a lot more.
Great tutorial! Your kids are just adorable!
Thank you 🥰
Your kids are so cute!

Please what material did you use for the outer layer?
It’s tulle fabric
Where do you buy the clothes
I get most from Spotlight which is a big craft store in Australia, but these particular tulles were from Aliexpress
🥰. Let me know the name of cutter used to cut the fabric?
You mean the rotary cutter?
@@darahandmadeau yes. Is it the name?
@@annieroy7200 yes, the rotary cutter, I thought maybe you meant its brand 😊
