"Models of Interpretations: Post-Chalcedonian Armenian Theological Texts and Problems"
This talk will present the results of my research on Armenian Christology after Chalcedon, by focusing on the seventh and eighth centuries Armenian theological debate and its philosophical underpinnings that were triggered by intense doctrinal exchanges and polemics between Chalcedonians and non-Chalcedonians of the Byzantine and trans-Byzantine space from the sixth century onwards. I will discuss some theoretical developments in Armenian theological ontology, in particular the treatment of the concept of individuality and its application to the Armenian Christological standpoint.
