- Follow along as I change a tire on our Mercedes CLS 400. Everyone that drives should know how to change a tire and this video was created to help you learn.

No jack and no spare in my car. Or a tire changing kit. I feel like the dealer should have mentioned it when I got the car.
Carry a plug kit and air compressor and learn to plug a tire properly. Even with a sidewall puncture, you should be able to plug it enough to drive to the nearest tire shop.
Of course if you run skinny tires, getting flats from potholes is very likely, so better to buy an aftermarket spare then.
Or just don't run skinny tires because the meager "handling" benefit isn't worth the PITA of having to change tires more often.

My Jack kit comes with a Rod which is threaded on one end screw it into one of the lug holes you can then slide the tire onto the rod this will ensure the holes are lined up and you can screw the lug nuts in remove the rod and put in the last lug nut
Our Cars (Mercedes) come with an alignment pin that screws into one of the lug points so you don't have to struggle with it, its in the kit.

Tighten lugs slowly and in a star pattern. Don’t listen to the trolls. Good job.
IMPORTANT. the loosening and final torqing should be done with the car suspension lifted with Jack, but the wheels still firmly on the ground. NEVER loosen or tighten with the entire weight of the car even on slightly loosened nuts..
There’s a tool that comes with the kit, you screw it’s in a nut spot then align the wheel, check that out next time

Hit a pothole at 3am after work! Drove home slowly and Just changed my flat when I woke up! Grate jack and slot underneath the full size spare is great! 2015 E350 great video and thanks for showing that slot underneath that fits the jack!!!
I feel u bro I was drifting at 3am in my w204 c300, ended up hittin a pothole underneath the snow cracked off half my rim. Found a guy on fb marketplace at 4am bought a extra tire n rim put it on by 5am😂😂
Had to do this a few days ago. An was scared of that lol jack. Waited 30 min for a new jack.. wish I would of pulled up TH-cam. Just was worried because the ground was level.
Much easier to do on uneven ground.

I was only here for the repackaging of the emergency kit 😅. If this is a video only for changing a tire you missed alot of key elements like engaging the parking brake, jack points, and tightening procedure 🤷🏼♂️

Easily changed in your tennis shorts , careful you don't scratch your Hublot... what am I saying, they're scratch resistant !

BTW, I think it's best to torque to spec with the tire _barely_ touching the ground and the jack supporting most of the weight.
The kit in the trunk has an alignment pin so you can put the tire on without issue, it screws into one of the lug spots.... I feel that everyone who says this either does not have a Mercedes, or does not go through their kit in the trunk.
@@PatricksDIY I didn't know that before I read your other comment here, but even without it, it didn't bother me much to -constantly- change the -Continental- tires on my dad's W221. I just worked around it by resting the center of the wheel on the circular lip on the hub and rotating it from there until I felt a lug bolt slot in.
I mean, I probably would've known about if if I read the owner's manual, but like I said, it was my dad's car and I'm not interested in German luxury brands.
Almost if none Model after 2017 Mercedes Benz sold in USA have a spare tire.
Can anybody help me, i just bought space saver spare wheels, but original wheel nuts is to long, where to get shorter nuts ? Or any item number please?

Do you have to balance the tire befor each time you rotate or change the tire?
A tire only needs to be balanced when a new tire is mounted to the rim.
It is advised by tire professionals that You periodically rotate and balance your tires every 5,000 miles. It is a fallacy that you only balance wheels and tires when you get new ones installed. Don’t take my word for it, visit your local tire shop.
It’s Important to balance your tires every service due to tire wear and other factors .
More appropriate use your foot to loosen the lug nuts instead of your arms use your weight
