They're super strong from what I have heard, 263 is good just electric shifted and I'd rather have the manual 261 like you have. Like the old school feel more and bet you'l love yours!

There's a local guy to me rebuilding them and selling new units, I didn't want to spend the money but couldn't pass up the deal!

I would probably run atf bc if seal goes it may mix oil into transmission. Time for body work

Fluid could only travel into the t case and its not going to kill it so not a worry to me, I'd drain and swap the seal. Rather no froth or foam with the extra capacity

How did you do your transmission shifter? I am currently doing a 8.1/allison swap on my 84 c30.

Precision fabrication plus makes a kit that let's the allison hook to the stock shifter on the column. It's in one of the first dmax swap videos I did

I want the 263xhd transfer case out of my 03 duramax? What’s the cheapest transfer to swap it out with in your opinion?

261 changes with 263 and vice versa. Can do 205s and stuff to with adapter

I have a 2004 ZR2 Blazer it as a NP1 that is a NP263 well this swap worked for me as well?

It might, I know the xhd is what the Duramax uses but if you just use the normal 263 and swap it for a 261 I don't see why it won't work
