Great receiver. I had an R7000 back in 1997 and loved it. I've since sold it and moved up to an R8500 and I love that receiver even more. The R7000 was the premier, flagship receiver of it's day and even today this receiver is still a premier model to have. These are big, heavy receiver but boy they do a hell of a job. Well worth the money if you have a need for one. Top-notch all the way :)
Started using this radio again recently after yrs of it sitting in the attic.-Unfortunately I have forgotten completely how to use the Scan Start/ Stop panel. Book very difficult to follow.
Dear owner of the r7000 radio, what type of radio should I use for this device? Secondly, do I have to use the remote control, and where can I buy a new or used remote control?
Dear owner of the Ic -R7000 radio, can you tell me what type of arial , if you would be kind enough to take a picture of it, because I have this device and I do not know how to get the channels to listen to it, and is there a channel searcher for a quick search? With many thanks to you, my name is Youssef
best to download the manual and see. i don't own this radio anymore. I think there was a memory that you would put the upper and lower freq in and then it would scan from those points.
they start at 25Mhz, so you can listen to the 27mhz c.b. radio band, 10m and down for ham radio bands (still lots of fm analog). frs, gmrs, wx broadcasts, depending on your location there maybe some vhf stuff to listen to for police, am, fire. look on radio reference and put in your location

Can you please tell me whats the type of the antena you’re using and its name? and do you please know where can I buy the remote control?
Thanks
I just use a dual band ham radio antenna for most of my listening. i don't know about the remote, but you don't need it.

you can use a scan function to search. a discone antenna is an all around good antenna for this. i just use a 2m/440 ham antenna thou.
Are these worth money my dad found one somewhere looks brand new just missing the power cord and what ever else comes with it...I’m looking to sell it
there is one up on qrz.com right now for $195 Shipped to lower 48.
What is the best antenna for the radio?
Depends a lot on what you want to listen too and how far away it is. A discone antenna is a good all around antenna but has no gain on any band.

how can I get my R7000 to scan frequencies instead of scanning channels

No option.

@@PhantomWoIf I have a couple IC-R7100 receivers now. but only so much space on the desk, so only one is in use. I also have a pro-2022 just for air.
I just got one. Are they good for anything any more?
