    CLIP DESCRIPTION:
The dwarves create a mess and tease Bilbo (Martin Freeman) with a playful song.
    FILM DESCRIPTION:
Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) joins Gandalf (Ian McKellen) and a band of dwarves led by the brave Thorin (Richard Armitage) on a treacherous quest to reclaim their mountain home from the fierce dragon Smaug in this epic fantasy adventure adapted from J.R.R. Tolkien's beloved novel by the creative forces behind the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Long before Frodo Baggins (Elijah Wood) made his arduous journey to Mordor, his brave uncle Bilbo embarked on an adventure for the ages. Bilbo's story gets under way when the great wizard Gandalf appears at his front gate with a most unusual offer. Displaced from their massive fortress in the Lonely Mountain by Smaug - a greedy dragon who coveted their gold - a community of noble dwarves were decimated by a surprise attack by monstrous orcs, whose dreaded leader the Pale Orc slew their king in a gruesome battle. Now, Thorin, the descendent of the king, is determined to reclaim his mountain kingdom for his people. Together with a fearless team of dwarves, Thorin and Gandalf recruit Bilbo to aid them in their quest since Hobbits have the unique ability to go undetected when they wish to. Before Bilbo, Gandalf, and the dwarves can reach The Lonely Mountain and defeat Smaug, however, they'll have to contend with trolls, goblins, stone giants, Gollum (Andy Serkis), and even the dreaded Pale Orc himself. Peter Jackson directs a screenplay he co-penned with Fran Walsh, Philippa Boyens, and Guillermo del Toro.

Fun fact, when they were shooting the scene where Bofur throws the egg into Bombur's mouth, Stephen Hunter (the actor who plays Bombur) actually caught it on the very first try, so everyone's reactions to that are 100% genuine. Which just makes the whole thing that much more awesome and genuine. What's funny is that no matter how many times they shot the scene afterwards, they just couldn't get it right, so they kept the original. It was a really funny ordeal.

As silly as they're being, they'd never deliberately harm something Bilbo had received from his ancestors, nor something Bilbo had crafted with his own hands. It would be a horrible insult, just as Smaug's defiling of the Lonely Mountain was (though of course to a far lesser degree).

I think what I love best about this scene is these Dwarves were all fully aware of how uncomfortable they were making Bilbo and were just enjoying the hell out of it. However in the end it was all out of fun, they did in the end make it up to him by cleaning up (in their own Dwarven way). It just shows they love to party hard, but they know how to balance it with respect.

I wish that in the battle of the five armies none of the 13 dwarves died and they defeated Azog and have a happy ending like this and peace came between elves and dwarves.

Beautiful screenplay adaptation of Dwarves and their traits. They might be crude, obnoxious, messy, loud, but in the world of Middle Earth, they are some of the warmest, friendliest, most team-oriented, nimble, LOYAL, and organized races (hence why/how they managed to clean up Biblo's house as if it was brand new afterwards + their superb technological skills compared to other fractions)

I have an edited version that cuts out anything not in the book. Brings it down to about 3.5hours for the whole trilogy, and it's very entertaining. I hate the versions we received because it's 3.5 hours of good movie with 9 hours of nonsense filler.

    • @MrMarinus18
      @MrMarinus18 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I think it is overhated but scene's like this kind of shows me why it's hated. They tried way too hard to be big and epic. The whole part of Sauron in the first movie got way too much focus placed on it. Hobbit is not some epic, it's meant to be a small story in a large world.
Whenever the movies are quint, cute and intimate they are great. I think the first movie was actually fine and while it had a few too many flashy action scene's the charm of the book was still there for the most part. It's the second where things get off the rail and the third where they just become nonsensical. The second and third movie should have been combined into one.

Lyrics of this beautiful song :
Blunt the knives, bend the forks
Smash the bottles and burn the corks
Chip the glasses and crack the plates
    That's what Bilbo Baggins hates!
Cut the cloth, tread on the fat
Leave the bones on the bedroom mat
Pour the milk on the pantry floor
Splash the wine on every door!
Dump the crocks in a boiling bowl
Pound them up with a thumping pole
When you're finished, if they are whole
Send them down the hall to roll
    That's what Bilbo Baggins hates!

Think about this in the context of good and evil in Arda. Gandalf is here, fighting a war on a world-ending scale and he's enjoying the company of these mere mortals. He looks at them as they are, the children of Aulë, not entirely intended to be in the world but here they are, enjoying the good life and bringing much joy. It must warm his heart to see them be merry like this. Makes you glad to know that after all things are sorted, Eru accepted the dwarves fully as his children.
