@@dorothyyoung8231 I feel like instant grits might work too, for my fellow Southern folk! My husband isn't the biggest fan of rice, but he LOVES grits, so we always have some instant grits in the pantry
I made the egg porridge but i didn't have sesame seeds by itself so I added the sushi seasoning which has sesame seeds with small pieces of seaweed. Hubby ate it plain without sesame anything and liked it, my toddler liked the one with sesame. Double win, thank you Aaron and Claire! Can you suggest food recipes that toddlers would eat in korea? My son is a fussy eater so any nutritious food he's willing to eat is God sent!
I love your style. Aaron’s instructions are so clear and easy to understand, and Claire’s reactions make the videos so much fun. And I love that you both have tips for making things easier or for modifying the recipes for special dietary needs. Everything that you make looks fantastic, too.
Ooh, I've always had porridge for lunch and dinner (re: lugaw), but never for breakfast! Can't wait to try these out in the future; thanks Aaron and Claire! 😁💖
Aaron and Claire!! I made rice porridge with egg, chicken stock, onion, carrot, celery, salt and pepper, and it came out amazing!! I was unfortunately out of tuna and the ground beef I had was frozen, so even though I was a little skeptical because I have a taste aversion towards eggs, I decided to add protein with an egg anyway. It came out great and doesn’t really taste like egg, which meant I had no problem eating it! And now I have leftovers for breakfast tomorrow!! Thanks guys, I have indeed been having trouble for years over what to eat for breakfast, and it has gotten better since I decided to learn how to really cook during the pandemic, but this just really took away a lot more of my breakfast indecision! Claire, I did burn my tongue. I won’t blame you, it just smelled so good I couldn’t stop myself!
I made the tuna one tonight and it was so delicious! I’m so thankful for your channel, I’ve made so many new things because y’all. The recipes are always so easy to follow, and I’m so thankful for the tips and shortcuts provided. Aaron always make me feel like I can do it, and Claire always enjoys the food so much I just have to try it myself! 🥰❤️ I plan on making the rest of them, one every weekend for the next couple weeks just to see which is my favorite. I can’t get right zucchini now because of the season (I’m so sad!) but as spring and summer come I’ll be able to add in all sorts of veggies and explore on my own. Y’all, if you see this, do you have any intention to put out a cookbook? Or merch of any kind? I’ve been a fan for ages and just I’d love to have a tangible piece to hold on to. Again, thank you for all your hard work! Sending so much love! ❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️
I just tried the beef recipe using ground chicken (my husband is Hindu) and it is SO. GOOD. I used chicken stock concentrate instead of the beef seasoning. So warm and comforting, and filling too!! We rarely eat breakfast and we're always starving by lunch, this was seriously so easy and pretty fast!!
Amazing! These look super delicious. I struggle with breakfast ideas, so these are perfect 🥰 Your videos always inspire me. Thank you Aaron and Claire! It's dinner time here, so I might try it tonight and have breakfast for dinner 😁
I just have to share I've made the beef vegetable porridge a few times now... and each time it tastes like a warm hug. Thank you so much for sharing these recipes with us!

You read my mind! I've been wanting to try making saeu-juk porridge with barley. Been really wanting my Nigerian plantain porridge too and potato porridge.
I am so grateful for the 4th recipe. I found shitake mushrooms at sale and from the tales+ vegg trimmings I preped homade stock the evening before. I also prep the vegg the evening before, so in the morning I can whip up a quick breakfast. Thank you. I find a loat of your videos helpful and by adjusting little bits they all turn perfect for my hubby's taste.

That shitake mushroom porridge was legit the best porridge I've ever tasted. And I have gone to restaurants specializing in it. I used soy sauce and Dashida. It was SO GOOD. Anyone who loves savory porridge MUST TRY.
I made the ground beef & veggie porridge for dinner, and it was fantastic. I used ground turkey and raided my fridge for seasonings-shoyu, orange zest, fresh ginger, and Mexican chili oil. Thanks for this satisfying meal idea!
I made the beef one and LOVED it! I made a second big batch and we ate it for breakfast every day this week. I’m going to make more! Thank you for teaching me! M
I am in Oklahoma USA. I ordered fresh kimchi at a local Korean market on Friday. The lady told me let set 2 weeks to ferment. Can hardly wait to try true Korean kimchi. Aaron and Clare, I blame you! But forget about it, I'm sure it's going to be great
The porridge that I always make is a Filipino style one with chicken, ginger, scallions/green onion, .... I usually make it whenever there's leftover chicken.
@@AaronandClaire I already made the egg and mushroom porridge. So delicious !!!! Only one thing I regret ... the mini porridge I should have bought a regular sized one ☺️☺️
I absolutely love your videos- watching Aaron cook and enjoying Claire’s taste testing! You both are an amazing team!! Thank you for sharing your passion with us!! ♥️🌺
This is a family favorite… we do it a little differently, with wet rice and sunny-side eggs, so the yolk is the sauce. Everything Bagel seasoning adds a little texture and a lot of flavor. Same green onions and sesame oil.
Are you on tiktok too?? Your recipes are great! I'm sick and made a vegetarian version with veggies and "no chicken" soup stock and it is absolute perfection. So so comforting, nutritious, and delicious.
Love this recipe - super easy - I used ground beef zucchini fresh button mushroom rehydrated shiitake rehydrated Wakame seaweed and OF COURSE green onion!! Sauce - dark mushroom soy - light soy and OF COURSE Dasida ( are you sponsored yet Aaron???) Toppings Groubd toasted sesame seeds fresh green onion and toasted seaweed sprinkled with mixed whole sesame seeds - where can I post a picture??
yummy ... but don't have your cutting skills lol.. fav so far and easy to learn egg porridge. Thank you again Aron and Claire. (I still follow lots of your videos just sometimes too busy so just click thumbs up and no time for comments. ) 😷💕👍
Aaron, I totally recommend making American-style white grits (Southern thing) and topping it with a sautéed mix of mushroom, sweet pepper, carrot, and shallot and some sautéed kimchi (sauté it with a little butter). If you want you could add some cooked ground meat. I also recommend a fried egg.
Years ago I found a recipe for grits with green chiles and cheese. I add fried SPAM or sausage and a fried egg and it’s so tasty. I might have to try your version, though I’ve been on a soft boiled egg kick, do you think that would work instead of the fried egg?
Aaron all your recipes are so easy and so delicious! All versions look amazing, thank you. Seem to be great comfort food and suitable, when sick also. My problem - where to get leftover rice... will have to cook some exclusively for this:)
Awesome Collection I really need to try them. I wish your Video came out earlier today. I made rice, egg omelet ( with loads of green onion - you made me addicted to them ), and Hen fricase. But This is awesome i have a lot of Rice leftover, a few veggies, tuna, and beef. I keep this dish in mind when feeling fatigued and won't have much energy to prep stuff. This would be easy to do. For the Mushrooms I love to use dried packed from Asia Supermarket, they also umami. I Prefer Chinese Black Mushrooms and Shitake, also for me European is easy to get Bell Mushrooms. The Soaking Water can be used for the braw in the rice, making it even more yum. I will also will try to add some potatoes to it.
Thank you for the variety! I have been making Baeksuk 백숙 and adding rice to it to make a porridge. Now I have many other ways to enjoy porridge! Thanks again! 😊

Hack: if you don't have time and you don't have rice, use plain oatmeal. Cook with broth. It'll be ready in 5 minutes.
