    Those axle tubes look good and thick, they have probably even machined the ends to accept the seal and bearing, couldn’t quite see. The worst of those rust pits could have been pad welded and ground back but whatever, you have removed the decay, stopped it with the rust paint and sealed it well with a good thick top coat so routine maintenance, touch up paints and due diligence will see you get a great run out of her. Well done, again, the clarity of your filming is awesome, crystal clear. Until the next one

    Good job! You are very meticulous young man. When I had to deal with such a heavy rust, I usually apply some fiber glass filler before painting, to obtain a nice finish surface without any potholes that can still be visible after painting.

    Love the work that you're doing, basically taking a clapped out machine and putting into all the work that is expected to get a decent machine out of it. And in the process, debuting a TH-cam channel too.

    Awesome job so far It will be worth the effort. i have done this kind of thing before, a few things i found or was told to do was for any cracks drill a small hole(1/8) at both ends to stop it then weld it. for metal prep for paint use comet or ajax cleanser its way cheaper and more effective that any kind of paint thinner or chemical.

    I just finished watching all your Bobcat video's on this machine. Well done. Loving what your doing. Possible idea. Have you considered a laser gun thing? Apparently they remove paint and rust. I don't know any this about them other than what I have said. I may or may not be useful. Cheers Stew

      First of all. Thank u. Second. Yes. I want a laser, it would make my life easier but they are way out of budget.

    Keep up the good work. I've been digging into an s205, with drive train issues. I feel your pain with the rust and dirt.

    You are doing a great job with this project. I can't say that I would have continued after seeing all that rust damage. It is looking good now and keep up the work. It must have sat near salt water or something acidic for some time. I also wanted to tell you that those cracks that you saw in the head are problems from using too much starter fluid at some point. Too much can ignite early before entering the piston chamber. Looking forward to the next one you are doing a fantastic job.

    I have only just found your channel, have watched all the videos in this series, your making a nice job. I thought that chain housing was trash, but you made a heck of a job on it. I am looking forward to your next video.

    Great Videos. Kind of afraid to open my 743. I didn't like seeing all of the mud and junk coming out. What type (not color) of paint did you use?

  • @gregreinhardt1293
    @gregreinhardt1293 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Well, if was me I think you'd be better off finding another 743 that is burnt out or blown up. the frame and drive axle case is used up or completely shot on yours. You want a good machine when you're done. besides, you're this far into it.

    • @jarvewhite4451
      @jarvewhite4451 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, I agree. You could probably find a bare case at a junkyard for $1,000.

    • @jarvewhite4451
      @jarvewhite4451 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Also, if you do reuse the one you have, you need to use baking soda and neutralize the salt still on the metal. That machine has been used in salt hence the deep corrosion.

    • @surefirebuilds
      @surefirebuilds  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Baking soda , yeahh I could’ve done that, it would’ve been cheaper too. I bought a por-15 rust converter product that I brushed on the whole case. Thank you. I will apply that to the rest of the machine.
