    Dude this is one of the best filmed how to videos I've come across working on this bike. Thank you

    Dude thank you for doing this vid! Really helped me out with knowing where/how that fork was supposed to connect with gears 👌👌

    Most helpful as there seems little real help from my Klymers instruction about the actual fastener placement. Big help my friend.

    Thanks for the picture showing which lenghts goes to what hole. Do you by any chance have for the right side, also? I'm also in the Virago Nation group on FB, but having read through several manuals and diagrams, I cannot tell exactly which ones goes where. The oilfilter cover included. Working on a XV1000 as well. Which I brought as a project, from someone who had lost interest in it. And it came with the covers off. So I have not idea which lenghts bolts goes to where, other than guessing the sizes. Which is something I'd rather not :D
    Have a nice day :)

      Here to help!! And sadly, I don’t have the other side! :( sorry man! Maybe ask the group? Yea, don’t guess! Haha. Maybe a screenshot of the picture I posted and ask if it’s exactly the same as that?

    What is the torque on the bolts to put the cover back on. I have a 1984 virago xv700

      Lol I tightened to to 7.2 but it still felt a bit loose so I went to 10. Going to be finishing the video I’m doing on it today. Been a slightly frustrating task with the clutch part and the gasket

      @lui1760  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@beardedcatguitarplus9485 I have a video about that! Use some grease! It’ll hold the gasket in place while you put everything back. 😁 ..yea clutch was a bit hard too lol.

    Hey Lui, I have a chance to buy an 84 XV1100 starter system, is this a good option and no different than say, an 86 starter system? Thanks bro.

    • @lui1760
      @lui1760  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! Try to get a 2nd gen starter. Those that have a “bone like shape” over the starter on the left side. It has a solenoid back there. Those are better

      Yes, gotta wiggle it a bit to make it go in 😄

    Which manual did you use or prefer?

    • @lui1760
      @lui1760  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ender Gate hey, I used a page on Facebook called, “Virago Nation- All things Virago” that I took the files from. It has all the manuals. So I used the xv1000 manual

    Is a gasket not required?

    • @lui1760
      @lui1760  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it does. I forgot to put that part in. It’s a very thin layer of paper gasket that goes in.

    At 2 minutes and 6 seconds you do not have a Spring in place

      @@rdaleellison3503 unfortunately, this one didn’t come with it. But I’d keep the oem spring and maybe cut 1/4 of it. This bike was my buddies bike. I owned a xv700

    Hey dude, thanks for the video. I'm updating my 750 gen 1 starter to gen 2, so was a little unsure about the order the gears should go in. I'm gonna give it a try this weekend, so your video will be a big help. Only other thing I'm a little unsure about is how to wire up the solenoid to the starter motor, but one step at a time I guess. 👍

      Left side nut goes to starter bolt in the middle of the starter, right side but goes directly to the positive battery post, and the little tabs above it goes to the starter relay
