It’s definitely an original design for Megalon, “delving deep” implies either digging deep underground or coming from deep within the ocean, both of which can apply to Megalon, Megalon also has a large horn on his head like the shadow, along with a similar tail.

@@BannedTurbotheyre remodeling all the kaiju they can't get a licence for, so dest being a toho kaiju doesnt really reduce the chances of this being dest.

If it's a redesign, it for sure isn't Destoroyah.
Destoroyah has small arms, extra thick legs, a long tail and wings. The new character has beefy arms, thinner legs, no wings, and a short, curled, tail. Who shares all those characteristics? Megalon.
The toes and curved tail give Megalon away so easily.
