Our day began with a serene visit to Pookode Lake, a natural freshwater lake surrounded by lush greenery. The calm waters and the picturesque landscape made for a perfect start to the day. We enjoyed a peaceful boat ride, taking in the tranquility and beauty of the surroundings.
Chain Tree:
Next, we visited the famous Chain Tree, a site steeped in local legend and mystery. The story behind the tree, with its chains and the haunting tale of Karinthandan, added a touch of intrigue to our journey. It's a must-visit for anyone interested in the local folklore and history of Wayanad.
Lakkidi View Point:
We then headed to Lakkidi View Point, one of the highest points in Wayanad, offering breathtaking views of the valleys and winding roads below. The panoramic vista was absolutely stunning, providing a great opportunity for some fantastic photography and to simply soak in the beauty of nature.
Off-Road Adventure to the Glass Bridge:
The second half of our day was packed with excitement as we embarked on an off-road adventure to the Glass Bridge. The journey was thrilling, with rugged terrains and scenic landscapes adding to the adrenaline rush. Upon reaching the Glass Bridge, we were treated to an exhilarating experience, walking on the transparent structure and gazing down at the forest floor far below.
Encounter with Elephants in Bandipur Forest:
As we made our way back to Chennai, our journey took us through the Bandipur Forest. We were incredibly fortunate to spot mighty elephants in their natural habitat. This encounter was a majestic and humbling experience, offering a perfect conclusion to our adventurous day.
