Wonderful episode, as always! I love that you both acknowledge the blessing that comes from not having much. Growing up, I was always thrifting my clothes and have continued to do that. I was always making creative decor and things myself (learning crochet and other craft-making skills) rather than buying them, and I was always conscious of saving money. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this for the second time! Beautiful!
12:11 LOL I reupholstered the dining chairs we bought 18 years ago and just bought new ones because the screws were stripped and the seats were falling off. 😂 I told my husband we should figure out how to fix them, but he wasn't into it. 😅 Anyway, the ones I bought are actually bar stools with backs. They are way cheaper than dinning room chairs and work for us because we have a high table (a hand-me-down😂). Dining chairs are so expensive. 😵💫
Seems like heard this already. Totally agree with being frugal even if have money. When couldn't work at 58 had to live pn $600/mo from retirement after hige penalty. Finally got disability and felt so decadent havin new underwear with good elastic and buying ground beef once a month. Maternal grandma benefitted from generatial wealth holding 7kids together when Grandpa was in both world wars. I spent early years in a travel trailer so no guarantees
I don’t return things! LOL I just feel weird going and returning the smallest thing. I usually use it anyways or just give it to someone who will. Example I ordered Dr Broners soap and it came tangerine even though I put unscented. I used it anyways.
