People of African descent need to remember who they are and stop believing the narrative of others. We are kIND. We would look after people less fortunate just because. We don’t have to have a reason to do good we are GOOD. We are FORGIVING - Which works to our detriment many times. We are PERSEVERING . We survived/ surviving slavery, segregation, constant racism and we are still standing. We are BRAVE, we stand up for what we believe without fear of death. We are lawyers, doctors, engineers, teachers, nurses, managers, administrators, mentors, accountants, scientists, public servants, entrepreneurs, in the military, police force. We can sing, dance, write music and the best DJS. We are comedians, public speakers, artists, track athletes, all round athletes. We are STRONG. We are EVERYTHING. Don’t let anybody who aren’t ALL these things tell you that you are nothing. Don’t forget who you are my people. Don’t forget and live your life knowing who you are. In that POSITIVE place and you’ll see the difference now in your children but in future generations it would be even more evident.
