- This video shows the story I've lived with my Saba bike from the 70s-80s
It all started when I was living in Bristol. While I was visiting a bike shop, Among a lot of other old and rusty frames, I found this beauty. A fully customized time trail bike frame. It never seemed to have been mounted and had 0 rust. It had a fully customized seat clamp and incredible detail quality.
After thinking about buying it for a few days, one day I had a nightmare where I saw that if I didn't buy it I would regret it. Then I got up and I went back to the store and bought it. It turned out that it was not of the Mandez brand, it was a Saba instead, imported from Italy. But there is no information on this table online. (which I would appreciate any information about that frame)
However. It must be adapted for new components. I had to change the wiring routing and all dimensions connection dimensions like Seatpost tube and rear triangle. After a great study of options. The bicycle finally started working. And with a Shimano Ultegra 10-speed transmission and H PLUS Son wheels with Shimano 105 hubs. The bicycle was finished.
I hope you enjoyed this project that I have done with a lot of love.
Now she will be my route companion for a long time.

Damn, that is stunning. I love the old frames, they had character and were just workhorses. I’ve got frames back into the 60’s that are still going and I love them.
mine is an old restored frame, with mavic rims and the 1st ed of 105s. i really enjoyed watching this.

Hace 2 meses perdí a mi abuelo, y hace unos dias buscando en un viejo garage, en el patio de su casa, encontré dos cuadros de la época en la que el competía, curiosamente un día me despierto y encuentro este vídeo en mi feed de TH-cam y al verlo me atrevo a decir que uno de los cuadros que encontré y pertenecían a mí querido abuelo es exactamente el del vídeo. Wow what a beauty - currently doing something very similar with a 1984 Holdsworth Elan made in UK. Never built a custom bike before let alone all the repairs and respray - Argos Racing Cycles Bristol took care of all that! Your craftsmanship and the video is admirable!

I bought an old beat up frame from the Bristol bike project and Lovingly converted it with modern stuff such as disc brakes etc. Great feeling putting new life into an old bike. Come to think of it, I've actually bought two old frames from the Bristol bike project to do up lol

That brings back memories from when I was a kid. My dad always had us dress up in cycle gear from the 70s, either his tops (Ken Bird cycles, Orpington CC) or others but one I do remember really well is a SABA tops we wore. They where yellow and brown (it was the 70s lol) I remember visiting a Chap in London, Italo I think his name was and my memory tells me he was the owner of SABA. My Dad and him seemed like great friends and they always laughed. I have an old bike of my Dads, all Campagnolo reynolds 531 tubing etc. It was a nice era for bikes. Like yours BTW great job :)

He restorested the frame but agree its more so a build up of the bike
So sick, restomods are the best. I did the same thing with a 1992 Specialized Hardrock frame I found on the side of the road! Turns out it was purchased right in my hometown brand new in the 90"s too. I painted it, slapped on 1x10 XTR and V-brakes and it was good to go!
Michael Bagby --- Restomods look shit and take away the beauty of the original bike. Modernising old bikes just doesn't look right.
Luis Esteve I did a metallic gun metal. Got the paint mixed at an auto parts store and sprayed on by some guys at an auto body school for free. It worked out.
