Hank, if you want to lift from the front, you NEED to lift from the rear as well. Having a ton of lifting capacity up front and not putting anything on the three point is a common way to break the front axle. Having water weight in the tires only keeps the rear tires on the ground, it does nothing to relieve stress from the front axle. You need weight behind the rear tires so the rear tires and heavy duty rear axle are acting as a pivot point, taking weight off of the front axle. The rear axle is what is intended to carry most of the weight. The front axle is designed to steer, and with 4wd, help pull the rear along in low-traction scenarios. If you want to "max lift" with the front loader, you need to max (or nearly max) the three point as well. The front axle pivots side to side, the rear does not. If the front is carrying most of the load and the terrain isn't perfectly flat, luck is the only thing that keeps the rubber side down. Keep all things in life in balance, especially things that can take your life.
@@HamiltonvilleFarm :) Just like to help happy tractorers keep on tractoring trouble-free. Breaking axles or steering knuckles are sorta the opposite of happy tractoring. Have seen lots of broken front axles on tractors over the years. Common theme is always lack of three point counterweight. Great video as always!!! Have a happy and safe New Year!
Thanks for all your great videos. I think a much better apples to apples comparison would be a DK45 or DK4510 to the 4540 and 4550. Both great tractors.
Honestly I would have bought a smaller tractor except need to lift 2500# pallets of salt all winter. The 4540 does it no problem, well after a little adjustment on the pressure valve. And 3 point pallet forks to hold ballest. Going on 5 years with zero problems and is a tank. Tool for the job as they say. :) Another great video
I looked at both of these tractors when I was buying back in 2016. They are two totally different animals. The smaller lighter Kioti will get into tighter places and cross lawns without messing them up. It will struggle with lifting heavy implements and carrying heavy loads. The 4540 will be much more stable but don't cross someone's nice lawn with it.
I do tree service work with my 4035 HST. I have flotation front tires and loaded rears and I'm on Turf all the time with no problems. Front tire size is 33 15.50 16.5.
First thing I noticed when you guys were sitting there was how neat and clean the background view is. Even when you get up to look at the Tractors the panoramic view is Awesome. Great cleanup job Hank. You should be Proud. I think you need a before and after picture side by side. The Hurricane damaged property and today's view. On another note that 4540 is a Tank. I don't think I would put water in the tires if I purchased one because I wouldn't want to kill my new 3/4 Ton Truck. 😜 Mark.
that weight is crazy on the ck4010, my mahindra 1526 shuttle with loader is about 3200lbs. that is a big thing in tractors, need that weight. Mahindra sure puts it in their tractors for sure. Great video Hank, love it.
Nice comparison enjoyed it all. Now gotta talk about my sure can I got yesterday for Christmas. Having the CK2610 my fuel tank is same as Brandell's. Just so happened that I had my rops folded down. Just sat that can right on the rops, turned the spout down and squoze (? squoze/squeezed idk lol) the handle and away she went. Best can I've ever had I love it. Have a good one guys.
I wasn't lol. However when I ordered my tractor I ordered a box blade. It finally came in and going up tomorrow to get it and gonna wear my new sweatshirt 😄
Great Comparison guys. I picked out a CK2610H and the difference with the CK4010H is only the horse power, 26 rather than 40. Same tractor, same lift capacity front and rear, size, tires, pto power, and everything the same but down the field pulling power. A couple thousand dollars less and no regen needed for the engine. I am also not a farmer so the plow pulling power is not a factor for me. One of the BIG factors for me is the maneuverability of the Kioti. Three feet of snow hit us over Christmas and the Kioti is so maneuverable digging out the snow in tight areas, just so easy even with the backhoe sticking out there. For those non farmer users try setting up a tight obstacle course to see the difference with the Manhindra and Kioti. The front axle design and size of the machine in the Kioti should have a big advantage. I would even put it up against a sub-compact tractor for maneuverable. Now that the snow cleared out, the roads are open its time to grab the board and drive an hour to the coast - I hear the surf is up tomorrow.
@@HamiltonvilleFarm a family friend had a ford Furgeson/ Massey diesel and when they bought it from a local airport it came with turf tires 4 pair one pair were agriculture tires
Great video, Brandell & Hank. If you do a Part 2, please tell me a little about ground clearance b/c I have so many dang cut stumps that I travel over and around. Great video work, Gina. Enjoyed a full-watch. Wishing each of you a very Happy New Year.
Good spec layout. Not in same class at all though. I have the L3901 which would be a direct competitor with the kioti. I will say first hand the mahindra weight and tire size far out does the smaller tractor though their spec sheets may seem more close!
SO many specs and so many options lol as for getting turf tires on a Mahindra on those 4500s I don't think they offer a turf tire for those but I am sure your local dealer could set you up with the tires you wanted since I know my Case/Kubota Dealer would do that for me if I needed it.. I been doing a lot of tractor research on the 120 pto horse size for my farm use and have learned a lot in how each brand rates their tractors.
Interesting comparison, I like the video. My Kubota Grand L3560HSTC falls right in between the these two tractors. Hopefully you will do some videos of the tractors working trying to accomplish similar task.
Guys Y’all are not comparing apples to apples. When comparing tractors you have to compare tractors of the same width . If your comparing different size tractors than you have to use the percentage of their weight VS their capabilities ! The Mahindra in the 5ft width would have a huge challenge keeping up .
In 2016, I paid $18,800 for my tractor. But, you also have to consider the size, as you are getting much more mass with the Mahindra! So it'll be much better in certain applications.
I really like your video and the format one question I have that many videos and dealers and customers claim that the dealer is very important. I purchased a brand new Kabota four-wheel-drive diesel tractor in the year 2000 the dealer I purchased the tractor from has a very poor reputation after I purchased the tractor I never had it back to the dealer to the dealer as I didn’t trust him to do a good job most of my maintenance issues were easy enough I could do at home thank you
I never talk prices in videos. This video is a couple years old, and you're just now watching it. If I would've said the price, it would not be relevant for you.

I never mention prices in my videos bc these videos live on TH-cam forever and prices change. So it doesn't make sense to mention them
You don't have a valid comparison, you should have used the NX series or at the very least the DK Kioti, the CK is a subcompact frame tractor and the only thing smaller is their lawn mower series CS. The Kioti NX at 40/45hp is closer in weight but has better capacities all around. It's like comparing a Chevy Colorado to a Ford f250...

I have two 4035 HST Mahindra with front end loaders. They have super heavy front axles.
He's go big enough rubber that it's not going to hurt it. It still takes pressure off the front.
I hadn’t realized how much bigger the 4540 was to the CK series. Just the back tires alone are so much bigger. Cool to see them side by side
Yeah, two really nice tractors. I liked that Kioti 👍
Yeah, I always look at tire size, first to compare tractor frame size. It gives you the best, easiest indication.

Which is better overall, Mahindra or Kioti?
Stature alone, I'd buy the Mahindra. it would have an easier time dealing with the terrain, loads, jobs in general.
