Ms. Gayle , what a delight you are to watch ,such a sweet personality! I have been crafting nearly all my 69 years but I have never made a journal. I thought I would make a Little Golden book journal first but it seems I’m really just collecting Little Golden Books 😂. I did start following along with you and am making my first altered book journal. I have made a couple mistakes but I’m really having fun ! Thank you so much for such a lovely channel 😊
I loved your up beat personality today - I always get like this, when it snows. Well, I do live in North Carolina and it's exciting when it snows. It was 80 degrees here today - I would rather have had snow! This book is great and I'm learning a lot. I just love you Gayle - it's wonderful spending time with you.
Hi Gayle I'm really enjoying these altered book videos. I wish they would have been a few months when I did mine not happy with it but will try a few of your ideas and see were it takes me. Thanks for being out here in the TH-cam world.
I am so glad this turned into a series! I have a few more things to do in mine! Thanks so much for sharing! Snow! Yuck! Here, on the other side of the country, we are having rain and temps in the 30's. Seems colder than normal.
I don't know how you do it girl...tickly hair, snow storm, laundry, glue boogers, can't sew on the pages, waiting on the new ruler, hungry and it's not lunch time, your knee popping and you just keep going. Lmbo....you make my day!
Well I’ve stuck my pages, now having to re- watch everything 10 times to catch up!!!! I’ve got to get printing and making things, I could be gone a while!!!!! Let’s hope there’s lots of football on the telly this weekend so my hubby is kept amused and I can craft/ Gayle binge in peace!!!!! 😻x
I watched several days of Roxy then fell behind on your videos, Wendy's, Tracie's and Lori's to name a few because I was also making some of my own creations from her ideas. So many fabulous youtubers it's hard to keep up.
Your humor is such an upper. You are so inspiring to me. I wish I had your talent. So I’ll keep watching all you fine artist and maybe a little bit will rub off on me. Thanks for an awesome time...❤️
“I’m such a Goombah”. LOL. You ARE married to an Italian! You crack me up. I talk to myself all the time and give myself the “sympathy laugh” because my Italian husband is way too serious. I could so be your friend in person. Hugs and love. And thank you for the chuckles (no sympathy -I really DO get ya).
AWESOME, love to watch your "senior" channel!! lol I have many of the same senior moments, including creaky knees!! Oh, man, it is nice to be able to sit and craft and not worry about those "ailments" tho!! Love your vids and watch often, thanks for being you and sharing all your great ideas and links to wonderful products.
Your going to love those rulers! And I enjoy even just listening to you chat about what you are doing. But the best is that I just kind of feel like I am hanging out crafting with friends. It’s fun having you on while I craft. ~ Linda
Such a gorgeous project! I just finished a journal and I'm thinking that one of these altered books should be my next project! Thanks for the inspiration, Gayle!!!
Another masterpiece on the way. Love it. I’m a great grandmother and my lot call me GG. Don’t care what they call me I love all the names they come with. They’re all full of love and admiration . Love this journal . cheers from Oz.xxxx
“She’s not giving up on her ruler but her ruler’s giving up on her.” Dying laughing (with you!) as always and enjoying your videos so much. You inspire me and brighten my spirits every time we “get together”. Thank you! 😂😍
I am loving this series so fun! I so want to be good at collaging ughhh. People think you can't be bad at collating oh yes this girl is lol. It's crazy i watch you folks collage and you all make it look so easy and they come beautiful every time mine come out looking like I threw the trash on them lol. I'm going to stick with it you inspire me so and I'm determined to be the winner.. BTW I have to share, you talking about another crazy snow storm which I agree this is the winter that just won't end!!! But did you you know that Montana holds the record for the largest snowflakes ever recorded in the 1800s i think it was 1887 but anywho 15 inches in diameter yep 15 inches across the size of dinner plates they said could you imagine seeing that, wow!!!! Lol. Thank you so much for sharing your videos with us I look forward and enjoy everyone of them!!
Your comment about the city fire department not helping you reminded me of the time we had major problems on our road and the city police and county sheriff were parked in front our house with maps on the hood of the cars trying to figure out if we were city or county, meanwhile bad things were happening just up the road, I was scared and mad at the same time.
Yes! It’s interesting, isn’t it? We are in the city limits! We are on city water and sewer and everything. The weird thing to me is it’s not like other homes in town aren’t surrounded by pine trees, but it’s our neighborhood that they say they won’t help. I don’t really get it. Hugs to you, sweet friend!! ❤️
Greetings from Iowa! 🙋♀️ I'm certainly glad you are doing this series. I'm working along with you! So fun and you are cracking me up! Your laugh is contagious! 🤣❤
From the beginning when you started this book I always thought that it was for you. I have made altered books before, but never in the way you are doing with the pockets. It has been so much fun being on this journey with you! On a sidenote, I was going to order the blue Uhu glue on Amazon because it was so much cheaper than the other kinds, but then I saw the reviews say that the blue one wasn’t as sticky and didn’t do as good of a job. I don’t know if that is why you had to re-stick a couple of your things in this video.
thanks for sharing what you read from UHU reviews Monica, i've been using it for many years and never had a problem, but i did hear Nik the Booksmith talk about the white UHU, said it works great and it glides on like butter! i'm going to get some of that and test it out i think.
Georgia girl here! I might could do this if I can just find the right book. lol! I checked the ones I have but they won’t work but I’m not giving up. Loving these tutorials.
snowing here in central alberta too. like the moisture as there have been grass fires already. that book is going to be amazing! good to see you enjoying yourself.
Gayle- I am from Iowa-- so you can ask me about any Iowa things... LOL I will see if I can help!! LOL Loving this series on the way you alter a book--- I do mine so different- watching LorriMarie Jenkins on youtube - have been following her for over a year now. She is a mixed media artist- and all her book pages are mixed media art. So interesting to see how you are altering this one. I am concerned that the book pages may fall out- since in a sewn signature - the pages are double sided- so keep watching to see if any pages fall out!! LOL Much better to use a glued book when doing an alteration like you are doing.
Hello Gayle, as always, I love what you are doing. I was wondering where you came up with the flips. I really see those as good flips or even inserts for journals. Also you mentioned that your ruler will be delivered on Sunday. I know that I have had things delivered on Sunday also. So you probably will get it.
My mother -in- law grew up in the Cincinnati area and always said chimley for chimney. She also said fashrag for washrag. I've never heard those words anywhere else.
It seems I missed this video, dont know why, but it could not escape from me and now I enjoyed watching it. Girl oh girl what a lifechallenges you got. You got snow, we got tons of rain and storm. The book looks great, I know I would have difficulty to part with it if I were you. What can 1 use it for I was asking myself, so now I'm awning you.
Well, if the card stock is too heavy to cover a page then copy it on your copier and then just use the colored paper. just a thought I've been doing that a lot lately like with lots of heavy lace and stuff I just make a copy of it like you do with your trims and then I can put that on a page and I haven't used my expensive lace and and it's still as pretty on the page.Pat
i LOVE what you said about your mama.... we are from South Alabama and she says smidgen, and she calls WalMart,,,,,, WalMark .... and Geneva is Genever, just to name a couple , lol
That’s why I make ponytails then my hair is out of my face!! We have such bad floods after rain mudslides then the fires 🔥 California fires are oh so scary!!
I know I'm a day behind but... I'm in Texas and you have the accent not me, lol. Some words and phrases I wonder if they are plain state's words because I say smidgen and other phrases that I've heard you use. I could listen to most Kiwi, Aussie and British accents all day, too. My accent is even more southern as I've gotten older. I think I'm "channeling" my grandmother, sometimes I hear her so clearly out of my mouth! Love your videos, tips and creativity. Tfs

Hi friend! My. Mom did sew. And she was so funny because she had about a million unfinished projects! Haha! I like the glass mat because it just wipes off, makes a perfect “filming area” and it’s tough and you can’t cut it. Big hugs sweetie! ❤️
@@gayleagostinelli_ct thanks pal, how wonderful to have so many fun memories of your mom, i am certain she is smiling down on you 😍 i have a feeling the apple didn't fall far from the tree with you as her daughter ❤ xo
Love these papers your Journal. I heard you say about the edge. It really Frustrated me too but someone helped me set my HP 7640 Printer to do the Borderless printing. But the only thing is I need to keep it on Photo Paper, and Sometimes I like the Matte Presentation paper setting because it is more Vibrant. But if you do change the paper settings when you print it will change back automatically to the border, because it does not accomidate the paper setting. So most of the time it is ok But I am printing a Digital from CalicoCollage and yes the presentation paper does make a huge difference in color printing Therfore I stick to the border and just cut it off. So Yes there is a setting in the Printer settings/Properties to be able to change the border to borderless and then when you print you can adjust accordingly from there. Hope this Helps. HUGS......
Speaking of our Mother’s sayings...my Mom would exclaim, “I could poke my eye with a sharp stick and get more light than that!”when the ceiling light wasn’t enough for her. I made that remark at work one day and my co-workers looked at me like I grew 3rd eye in my forehead.
Gayle, being with you as you craft lifts my spirit so much. You're better than a therapist! I love this series so much. Thanks!
I've become addicted to this loot book's progress.
Life is Great when I start my day with Gayle! Thanks for sharing your time, family and talent!
A bucket of laughs and a barrel of inspiration. Thanks for it all. Loving this series!
Your antics is what makes your videos so nice to watch. I believe while everyone is watching we are probably all laughing with you.
I feel for you! Snow this time of the year is crazy!!! I vote your husband lets the snow melt... Forget the shovel!!! Stay warm and safe!
Omg...the hinges would be a great opportunity for your digital trims. So enjoy your videos. You always brighten my day.
Just beautiful Gayle! Love it, looks like you're having so much fun! Makes us have fun with you!!!!
Another wonderful episode with Gayle. You are such a joy to watch creating this series. Can’t wait for another wonderful hour with Gayle.

Aw, don’t you just love Daddy-isms? My dad is gone too. Thanks for sharing that with me! ❤️
you are amazing... I am new and working on my FIRST altered book, I am so excited , thank you for your inspiration

Love watching/listening to you craft. We are close in age and I so relate to your ‘challenges’, lol. Great altered book there! 🌹
I am listening more than watching. 👍😁
Love this journal turning out really pretty!
So much fun Gayle. I have wanted to do an altered book for a long time....I need to just do it!!!

You made my morning. Thx for the video.

Gina Clev we say smidgeon in England too.
Re the White edges question, it really depends on your printer. Most 'photo' type printers will do some form of 'borderless' printing, and may accomodate borderless on letter size paper (or even larger, my old Epson did A3 borderless, my current Canon Pixma does too). Check your printer manual/specifications, and use the software that came with the printer, borderless might not be available in your OS or graphics software even if it's possible with your printer.
My epson printers have "print to the edge" capability only for cardstock and photo paper, not for regular printer paper.
Have a fantabulous day.
You too! ❤️
Gayle you crack me up girl!! “The aging crafter” LoL 😂.
I just started an altered book. This seriessdo inspired me!
Thanks for all your wonderful videos ! I watch Rachael every day, she is talented and funny too :}
If you put a sheet of "fun-foam" down and the put your paper on it and then your ruler. I bet it will tear easier. The foam will allow you to press the ruler into the paper, creating a better grab...I think.
Great idea! ❤️
