There´s something about Vin´s videos that genuinely makes me enjoy every second of the content. I can feel each emotion and word he´s saying because he´s living the experience like there´s no camera around. Just taking us for the ride, enjoying together. I love that
Sorry, but if you think you're old at 35, that's a problem. I'm 54 and would daily the 997.2 RS. I literally laugh out loud when I'm in stop and go traffic with my manual transmission 991.2 C2. I'm trading it for a 997 GT3. The rawness of the 997 is the exact reason why we drive those cars. The working of the controls and working at getting everything out of the car - is the essence of what makes it what it is: The best sports car.
Im 33 and id daily drive the hell out of the porsche you drive and the one youre getting as well lol. People cry about the E9X M3 as well but i daily drive mine(manual trans also) because why wouldn't i enjoy it everyday lol.
I'm of similar vintage as you. I have an '11 GT3RS and would 100% NOT want to daily this in LA traffic. The clutch is significantly heavier than any non-GT car (I've owned a few), the shift action is also heavy, and the sound deadening sometimes seems non existent (although I have an aftermarket exhaust). I absolutely love the car but to think it would be a cake walk to daily this in a traffic heavy city is probably a premature assumption. Try it out and get back to us:)
@@only3pedals Got it. I'm not sure LA traffic is good for any type of "driving" other than sitting still and moving quite slowly. I wouldn't like that type of driving in any car - period. Just a frame of reference, for years I had a '69 Big Block Corvette with around 650hp. It has a sintered seven puck racing clutch. In order to pully out, you basically had to take the revs up to 1,200rpms and side-step the clutch. It would squat, chirp the tires and go. If you tried to slip the clutch to pull out like a normal car, it would hammer and bang like you were hitting the transmission with a hammer. The pedal pressure was pretty extreme as well since the clamping force was so high. No slipping at all once you're off and moving. Congrats on owning a 997.2 RS and driving it! Perfect car IMHO
So ive watched all of Vin's videos so far and really been enjoying the content! Keep doing what your doing dude👍 looks like your really enjoying what your doing & we are all enjoying the journey also! Awesome mate keep up the great work much love from the U.K 🇬🇧👍❤
I drove a 911 GT3 RS at Exotic Racing in Las Vegas. I have been into track cars for a long time, and owned a few. I was SHOCKED and the capabilities of the GT3 RS. The world of Porsche opened up to me that day.
2 keys sitting on the table for me to grab: Track day at Laguna Seca - 992 Tail of the Dragon - 997.2 There's no denying that the newer car would be better to live with day to day, but when I go out at sunrise on a Saturday morning, I'm going for the car that makes me work for it.
Love your 7.2 3RS. Especially with the JRZs and other quality mods. I had the opportunity to drive one, as well as a 7.1 GT3 and 7.2 RS 4.0 recently. My favorite generation of Porsches and possibly the best driver's cars of all time. Hope you keep yours.
I think the rawness of older sports cars has more charm than the speed of their modern counterparts. Both cars are still super cool though, great vid Vin!
Buying the 997 10000%, besides all out performance comparing it to the 992. You cannot beat that car in terms of pure driving experience, looks, and personality
Never ever sell your 997. I'm from the UK and it's the only reason why I came to this channel because no one in the UK let alone the US daily drives and vlogs a 997 GT3. I'd rather see you sell your current collection of cars than sell the GT3. This is your trophy piece, and your dream car. Cherish it.
Vin your content keeps killing it. The video quality and edits are so enjoyable. Also the fact you actually understand mechanics and how to drive fast cars on track is super impressive - it’s makes everything you say hold clout.
I’d pay to have an unedited no talking pov of the 997. Most of the pov videos on TH-cam on this car are either short, old or includes so much taking. I don’t even see too many 997.2 gt3 rs’s on here honestly. Just love the rawness of the car honestly. The rough idle at stop lights, the rifle bolt action stiffness of the shifter, hearing just how heavy the clutch is on takeoffs, just an awesome car
i had a 991.2 C4S that was totaled last june, I thought the replacement was going to be a 991.2 manual gt3, but then i drove a 997.1 gt3 and now looking for either a 997.1 GT3 or GT3RS, but i'm older, and grewup driving manual so the cars relate more to me.
The absolute best vid on the GT3 of all time. Your description and video sync made me feel like I was physically with you. I may never get to drive a GT3 but now I have small clue. No one has ever described the detail of the car in such a functioning way. BEST GT3 VIDEO EVER!!!
14:33 My guyyy! You are giving me BBC Top Gear vibes, but like when they had Hammond, Clarkson, and May! Also it's really cool to hear you describe the experience of driving it. Very cool dude
I want to but I’m not ready and don’t think I can stay consistent with the quality and concepts yet. Once I get through summer and a few other things off my plate I’m down!
Bro this channel has quickly become one of my favorites, you really should have created this channel years ago because I enjoy this content as much as I enjoyed OG Hoonigan videos and it’s completely different
Dude, I'm completely in love with your channel. The editing, the angles, the information! So proud to see you killing it out here on your own! Keep up the great work, I'm here for it! ❤❤❤
997! I prefer the styling of the 997. The 992 is crazy aggressive, but absolutely killer of a car,. I think I may have to give the Porsche Experience a try one day... thinking about gifting the experience to a friend that really wants a Porsche! real cool!
@Vin_ tra it's so obvious how much you love your 997.2 GT3 RS, and I feel the same way after owning my own for over 11 years now. The car never gets old to me, is always a sensational experience to drive at any speed, and just makes me fall in love with it over and over again. It was a lot of fun to see you compare it to the latest 992.1 GT3 RS! I definitely enjoy your content, keep up the great work brother.
Such a cool video, man. Your perspective is special because of your experience with the 997. If i were to get one and only one. I think i would take the 992 still. Porsche refines liquid gold with each generation and somehow each iteration it gets better. Great job!
Vin, Love the new channel! Coming from a guy who just built a 59 Corvette Resto Mod with no nannies at all. Money no object I would take the new GT3 RS and drive the wheels off it. I would be doing track days every weekend
Vin my dude, you’re a real and a legitimate car guy which makes your TH-cam endeavor and videos super organic and pure. It takes one to know one. Keep it up man 👍🏼.
You got me Vin! I have always been ALL about the 996 and especially the 997 RS. But seeing your views on the new one has really got me thinking now, maybe new is better! Oh, your 360, that colour has grown on me so much. It looks classy, especially with the wheels. Kind of like a 360 version of a GT3 touring. Keep the awesome vids coming 👊🏼
Excellent episode!! I have loved the look of the 911 body style since I was a young boy....one of my favorite Porsche 94' 964 turbo S...I'd imagine one with a wide tire body....but these new ones are amazing!
Driving both of these machines on the west coast of Norway would be a dream come true. your car looks amazing and clean, I’m 36 and analog is what I’ve grown up with. But on track the newer gear box on Track, seems wild.
The cinematography of this channel is my favorite. But damn do you have to yank me (the viewer) off the tripod so hard after that super smooth intro w/ ep# and all for our convenience!...lol
I've never driven a Porsche but it sounds to me like the 992 would be a more practical car to drive on the road but the 997 would be more fun on the track. Personally I am a big fan of that "analogue" feel, which is probably why I would lean that way. I'm a little behind on your uploads so will catch the new one soon. Another great video Vin, killing it!
Porsches are like a timeless individual piece of machine that actually remembers you of every epoch of vehicle engeneering apex. What I mean by this is that, in my case, I cannot choose between old and new. What i can actually choose is like: "What era of Driving Experience do I wanna live?" And then, you have all Porsche models to choose from and actually do experience it without looking so different from one another. Design wise, they keep the timeless looks and without losing it's character, or may I say, it's identity. Performance wise?! Choose what you want to experience/feel while driving, and that's it. You'll have your answer. The only problem in my view is: The money you'll need to have each version in your garage. Another nice vid Vin! Love from Brazil!
I'm still trying to figure what model I'll choose when I have the money, but everything in me points to 997's or 911 Cup RSR's from the nineties. Here in Brazil they're in the same price range. US$300k. Steep. But so worth it.
Dude the way you talk about cars and give information and convey specs as well as presence it’s like you are an American Jeremey Clarkson. Got home and it was warm!!!
I'll take the looks of the 997 with the drivetrain of the 992. Let's be fair though, both are amazing cars. Loving the content and am super impressed by the quality of your videos.
Vin that raw feeling is what makes your Porscha outstanding I've watched every episode really enjoying them and Zach 4x4 is a gas 🐷 couldn't believe it was worse than that huge boat unbelievable bro
Hmmm tough choice. I'm thinking the 997 solely because I live in an area would I could take it wide open and enjoy it. There's also some winding areas of road that go by the lake next to town. It would be fun to have to work while I drive. That's what makes it fun and rewarding.
the ferrari project is cool-ish Vin. But to see your real passion and excitement for the Porsche makes the videos much more interesting to watch honestly. There really isnt enough cool porsche content on the interwebs of people doing clean builds and just enjoying the actual drive of them so that video was pretty solid.
hey steve from Australia. i love the videos your doing big mix and its great. im just about 40 years old and never driven any fancy car. i have a ford falcon fg mk2 turbo with 400hp in a six speed manual, ive driven a few slow 4 cyl autos (not often) which are great in traffic but i still like taking my falcon out even in traffic even been a manual. its not stock but i just cant afford to to take her out every day(im not working at the moment). But when you have an awesome car when you park it you look back and go dam, you know its right. i also have a stock honda civic ek with a stock d16y4 non vetec with dints and paint fade and love driving that car to, do the same thing with the falcon. its just about the cars we love and drive+ work on
Thank you for reviewing both cars honestly. Too many of these other videos act like Porsche forgot how to build amazing cars after the 997 and everything went downhill. Porsche is an engineering company first and foremost…..and advancing performance sometimes requires things that can be perceived as taking away from the experience, but such is life. I was fortunate enough to own a 997.2 GT3 RS for almost 3 years when it was new and while I absolutely loved the ownership experience I feel that the 992 generation of the GT3 RS is the perfect evolution of that car and for what is gives up in being a less analog experience it makes up in other areas.
Yup, Ultra solid! and shout outs to your crew too, helping you do the damn thing! 💪 I like the Porches soundings Your Ferrari sounds sick AF too. I ALSO like the Alfa Romeros, too, so my favorite car would always go to the Nissan Laurels C33. 💚 🇳🇿
I feel like you just had an existential crisis at the end of this video lol. Apples and oranges situation here I think, both super awesome rides. Great vid!
@@vin_tra I’ve been looking at 991.2’s haaaard. I’m just curious the difference in driving experience between it and your car. Both extremely beautiful. I imagine it’s still a raw connected car just probably a little more refined compared to a 997 but still before too many electronics. That’s their appeal to me
Keep your 997.2GT3RS. I once had a 997.1 GT3 and wish I had kept it. I then moved onto a 991.2 GT3RS and still enjoyed the 997 GT3 more because of it being manual and the size and rawness. If you do sell your 7.2RS, I'll buy it from you.
I like the feeling that you do. It's funny working in a dealership seeing all the new and fancy stuff gets me gitty, but I would rather take something that could kill me if I did something wrong, over something that would correct my mistake.
Great video and indeed a tough choice. I am fortunate to own both an RS4.0 and a 991.1RS. Love them both. Different pleasures: 991 is easier to drive, more confidence inspiring and those pdk shifts are insane. the 997.2 requires more skills and feels so light compared to the 991 that driving it is akin to ballet dancing. Pure driving pleasure.
Pushing towards middle age here, too (41). Agreed with everything you said, Vin. The new car is too outrageously styled. Since I’m not going to be driving a car like that every day. I’ll take your 997 over the new one.
As an armchair driver, I'd take the 992 GT3RS. Have only ever heard good things about it, and your video is icing on the cake. But hey -- I'd be happy with my friend's former 2013 Carrera S, the nicest car I've ever driven.
Love this video! 100% would go 992! I'm not looking for an easy ride. It's just that the 992 will be faster in every aspect... yes, a manual is awesome, and the 997 looks amazing... but for those mountain roads around the world... the 992 has it for me.... and speaking of around the world, I think it would be awesome content if you set up a trip with a few friends or did a rally in Europe with either your 997 or 360 when it's done! Or some across America stuff, it would be epic! It takes time to plan something like that, so start now!
I want a 992 so bad loved every second of this video man wish someone would get one and make some cool content w it I’d love to see some content w one of these cars
I'd rather take the 992 to the track, the 997 to the canyons, and a crunchy old 911 to the streets. That's just where I'd be for the money. Another solid vid, good stuff all around.
Before i start watching, I've noticed & run into issues with new cars & their electronics making tuning complex. Swaps get difficult trying to align networks to work together. Stand alones are even harder missing signals/ gauges, abs, etc.. the builder in me prefers older, but that tech is hard to beat now let's start the show 🔧💪🤘
Awesome comparison 997 in my opinion seems more special. The size, the more analog engineering, the metzger engine, the visceral sound and even aesthetics. The 992 is a spaceship in comparison. Beats the 997 in nearly every aspect but does it have the same soul? That 997 gt3 rs has some awesome mods that elevate it. Great to see it being properly driven and not treated like merely an investment.
For me the 997.2 GT3 RS was my "Postercar" as a boy exactly speced like yours, up to now I only had the chance to to drive a 997 GT3 and the 991 Gt3 RS. The 992 is amazing but I would always go 997, as it is manual, it is a real drivers car. With some Skill everyone is fast in a 992. I would always choose the 997 or even a 996 eventhough it is not the prettiest but I love driving manual and don't care about maybe being a little slower, it is about the experience and feeling the car without all the electronics that came with the 991 and now 991.
id have to go with your 997 for sure for similar reasons to you, i've always been a big fan of the heavy shifting analog manuals a la fast and furious lmao
There´s something about Vin´s videos that genuinely makes me enjoy every second of the content. I can feel each emotion and word he´s saying because he´s living the experience like there´s no camera around. Just taking us for the ride, enjoying together. I love that

100% agree. Vin is killing it!

@@only3pedals Oh, you're right, I wouldn't drive the RS or the Corvette in LA traffic either
So annoying when men in their 30's call themselves "Old" but noticed that its typically uttered by child-less men.
Porsche has been making timeless cars since the '60s. All 911s are so desirable. Your car still sounds and performs amazing!
997 for sure. I am in my mod 40's and love the Old School Porsche. I like to work for fun. It's more involving.
Mod 40s is when your back hurts after you put on an exhaust.
Watching your videos is the closest thing to hanging out with my car buddies and just doing car guy stuff on a random weekday. Absolutely spectacular.

There really isnt enough cool porsche content on the interwebs of people doing clean builds and just enjoying the actual drive of them so that video was pretty solid.
Got the 992nd like hell yeah! Phenomenal video man, it was cool branching away from Ferrari content for a little bit. Keep up the awesome work!
hey steve from Australia. i love the videos your doing big mix and its great. im just about 40 years old and never driven any fancy car. i have a ford falcon fg mk2 turbo with 400hp in a six speed manual, ive driven a few slow 4 cyl autos (not often) which are great in traffic but i still like taking my falcon out even in traffic even been a manual. its not stock but i just cant afford to to take her out every day(im not working at the moment). But when you have an awesome car when you park it you look back and go dam, you know its right.
i also have a stock honda civic ek with a stock d16y4 non vetec with dints and paint fade and love driving that car to, do the same thing with the falcon. its just about the cars we love and drive+ work on
Sometimes it’s nice to not drive it every day. Makes the times you do feel more special
It's rad that Vin, hert and zach have their own channels now. I look forward to their new videos every week just like the old daily transmission days.
Dude, thanks for making videos that keep me coming back for more! Let the content roll brother!
Yup, Ultra solid! and shout outs to your crew too, helping you do the damn thing! 💪
I like the Porches soundings Your Ferrari sounds sick AF too. I ALSO like the Alfa Romeros, too, so my favorite car would always go to the Nissan Laurels C33. 💚 🇳🇿
What a video!!! Absolutely loving the content!
I went the the Porsche Experience in April and got lunch there as well. Such a cool place man!!!
I feel like you just had an existential crisis at the end of this video lol. Apples and oranges situation here I think, both super awesome rides. Great vid!
Vin, would love to see a comparison vid with your 997 & a 991.1 or .2! Keep killin it man!
Me too. Always tempted by a 991.1 RS due to the price delra
Hell yeah, this is the best channel. Hands down the best!!🤘🏽
Lil Vin vid before going to bed, top notch work brother, keep the great work up🚀🚀
I like the feeling that you do.
That’s a lineup. I’m always tempted to sell this and pick up a 991.1rs for half the price.
997 for me! Love a "slower" car that has more engagement. Love the content so far Vin!
I was at PECLA a couple days ago and had a demo lap in the GT3 RS. That thing rips around corners!
dang the new RS is so good
it’s absolutely insane. 997 is still king but for a track car this thing is unbelievable
Dude I can't wait for Thursdays. Vins Thursday drops get me through the workday every week
Greatest sports car of all time IMO. Another banger of a video, thanks Vin.
Stand alones are even harder missing signals/ gauges, abs, etc.. the builder in me prefers older, but that tech is hard to beat now let's start the show 🔧💪🤘
Wow. 997 for weekend ripper and track car. 992 for cruising and going to dinner and you still wanna hit some WOT pulls on the way to the destination.
Gotta say this is an excellent video to watch if you're going to drive one on track thanks to Vin's ADHD non-stop yappin'. Props brotha.
Awesome comparison
997 in my opinion seems more special.
New GT3 RS is super sick, but your collection is amazing especially the 997 on the e88s. All at 35 I’m spewing 😂
Can we have a review on the dog please 😂
Every Thursday morning is a treat, Thanks Vin!
Vin is delivering the content we all needed 🙏🏻
997 all day for me, not that ether are an option but the subtle greatness of the 997 is something else.
997 purest Manual for me, but 992 is amazing. The car does most of the work. I like 3 pedals!
Great video. The 992 is a joke of itself. Your car is the best ever gt car besides 4.0
8:48 also active aero in the front
the amount of disrespect Aarons flow was throwing down the whole video, dang haha. Great video!
Every 997 needs that new 992 steering wheel. They look so sweet!
991!
@@vin_tra oh I see! I'll keep that in mind for when I get my 997 😁
