    I bought a Clapton Strat and an OCD pedal - works great . Emerson you ought to be a solo artist . You have the gift of music , Early Robin Trower and Jimmy Dewar mid 1970's is my go to for GREAT MUSIC . Cheers .

    Great video. I’ve got two Ivors (‘67 and ‘68) and really want to get a ‘69 as well. These pedals have totally changed my approach to both clean and overdrive. I can’t say enough great things about them.

    Badass! When you went thru all three I think I dug the ‘69 the most as far as the clean to wooly bloom you got. I have a 68 and want to get another eventually. Like you say, the attention to detail is amazing. Great video!

      Thanks! Yeah that 69 could even get dialed in more like the 66, as in a little rounder. But it’s got the cut and mids to get thru a drummers cymbals.

    Emerson; got my '70 TFK Ivor his week - fierce throwback tone (5 Germino heads here). Next want a BC183 build 'Swinford' spec. That '68 Si unit above is outstanding; not better or worse - just a killer tranny/setup by DF. Esp. when you live in the 6-8 Vol. knob range on guitar. Thx for the inspiring demo- cheers !

    Hey Emerson, very helpful video, love the playing!.
    Do you know the nut width of your '66 stratocaster?.
    Is it 43mms or one of the examples that's just a wee bit shyer at around 40-41mms?.
    Thanks,
    Peace.

    Epic review of ivor fuzz!! Great sounding and wonderful playing!! I grab the silver '68 bc183 from dustin last year. Probably the best Fuzz i ever played. Thinking about take another germanium (nkt). How much different it is between those two?? Worth to try germanium?

    • @emersonswinford8949
      @emersonswinford8949  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks! I like the 183 a lot for offering a ton of fuzz and sustain, prob more than NKT, but still being warm sounding like NKTs. The difference would be that the NKT really has that lovely “clean” tone w the volume rolled back on your Gtr. And then all the shades of dirt to full on fuzz. The 183 does that too, but not as well IMO. So it depends how Fuzz crazy you are? I just love how they look and having the tone options but truthfully it’s like having several strats…oh I have several strats too! 😉

      @@emersonswinford8949 yes lower gain, but they sound really fat and I guess rounder( if that makes sense) on the neck pick. I play Les Paul's but they sound great with fender guitars too.

    My mistake at 9:05…USE Carbon Zinc NOT Alkaline batteries. Alkaline tend to sound harsh, Carbon Zinc sound better and are cheap too.

    The RUEXP'ed examples are exceptional! I really like the relative minor riff and how you improvised with each fuzz as well. Here is 3rd stone iso track Jimi using guitar volume pickup selector and FF.

He used the middle pickup then flicks it to the bridge. What is so amazing is that he came up with all of this so quickly he just arrived in England he never played a Marshall stack then bam 3rd stone is born. He paid Jim Marshall in full for his amps and cabinets in return Jim serviced Hendrix's gear while in the UK.
