A shame that good games developed by creative people get tainted by the EA logo. I hate it when they cause these developers to start going down in quality because EA wants to squeeze them for as much money as they can. EA murdered Maxis, Bullfrog, and Westwood then turned their creations into crap.
I'm still waiting for Valve to surprise us with a new "box" bundle that has L4D 3, Half Life 3, and Portal 3 all fully VR compatible with Vive controls.
I just discovered this video, and I didn't realize it's from fucking 2012 till I checked the upload date. That proves how relevant this video still is after all these years.
Mike Cammiso if mirror's edge 2 is a disappointment as mirror's edge 1 is..... (mirror's edge 1 was so lazily put together texture wise, TOO MUCH WHITE)
I notice some of you in the comments seem a bit slow and lemming-ish in this video's favour. The point of this whole thing is to teach _you_ to be able to discern good products from bad _yourself_, ignoring media input and biases, not to blindly hate anything with an EA logo. *Pretentious text wall incoming:* If you don't consider Titanfall your type of game, thats cool, I hope you find what you're looking for elsewhere. However, if you enjoy FPS games and aren't purchasing it due to a "boycott", or are trying to pass it off as "It gets media attention and advertisement, it _must_ be paid and awful!", or even if you think its an "unoriginal cod clone", I don't think you're putting 2 and 2 together. Point 1: Boycotting _every_ product a company puts out is pointless, even though its morally correct-ish. If you don't purchase _anything_ from them, even when there are good products, they'll have no idea what the heck you want from them, because they _clearly_ don't understand any verbal or written language. Speak with your wallet. Point 2: There is _undeniable_ originality and _absurd_ levels of polish here. People in droves are being quick to call Titanfall a "CoD clone" as an excuse to reject it. I think you're missing the history lesson here, Respawn was _formed by ex-CoD developers because they were fed up with making the same thing repeatedly_. They took the best of what they know works well and they completely overhauled it and expanded on it, it's literally 3 times more complex now it's _not_ the same game _at all_. Let that sink in for a second. You complain about how CoD stays the same for so long, but when the devs flee to make something drastically different, you want to squash it because it has some of the same DNA attatched? I think we've reached a point where we've gone full circle... We eat the cake so much that we make ourselves sick, then we hate the cake that the baker keeps making because we said we loved it and deny that it was ever any good in the first place, then he listens and spends time making an even better pie instead, but we hate that too for using some of the same ingredients. What the fuck.
At the same time, the ex-CoD developers could have fled to a different publisher... But that doesn't make a difference does it? The point is that any developer is not evil per se, but that the shovelware and the poor products are the bad part. As such, not purchasing a good, unique, and well done product because any specific publisher works on it is insane. As an analogy, you become agitated at your dog for urinating in the house. As such, you refuse to reward your dog for his bad behavior, but you also refuse to reward his good behavior. This is not a good way of changing behavior. You must reinforce different behaviors in order to change the original behavior. EA's current morals and behaviors are bad. We want them to change. We must reward them for making a good change. Personally, I am not convinced that Titanfall is this good product that deserves the reward. If you are, and want more Titanfall-esque games, purchase it. Boycott the behavior and reward the good. This will see a positive change in the video game industry.
Titanfall is just a fps. I dont hate EA, but experience teaches US. If EA fails, they are the ones that need to suck it up. They are the ones that need to figure it out by themselfs. Why are people pissed at EA, its something everyone can google. I dont hate xbox either. As for EA, how about selling finished games? How about allowing critique in the forum without bans? How about fair treatment? How about a working installment for Battleforge? How about a server that is working? How about keeping servers live for the games that i purchased?
SuperKnowledgeSponge I have no problem with large corporations. My problem is mainly with big government, but that's a completely different issue. The thing with corporations is: you don't like something, don't buy it. No one is forcing you to buy EA games, for example.
George Washington Big corporations have bought the government with money. The examples are far too many for me to list. And you dare say big corporations are not evil? Are you high or incredibly stupid?
I think I'll stick with torrenting EAs' games. It's legal where I'm at so if they want to screw me, I'll return the favor. They have pulled their pranks one too many times for me to keep forking out money to them.
This video has aged like fine wine and will continue to do so. Except now instead of it being an unoptimized ported mess, it's just a buggy mess to start with. But so long as it's "fixed" within a year all will be forgiven. People just refuse to remember the past and what has happened before.
*YAY!* You said it was a _moderately_ well-animated GMod video! I'm so sick to death of people praising this stupid thing when it didn't take nearly as much work as a lot of other stuff I've made. You saying that was like a breath of fresh air, thank you.
I've been basically ignoring comments on this video for months now because it's either overanalyticals with no lives or people regurgitating complaints and "jokes" because they can't think for themselves. You restored my faith in the comments here because you took this and actually made something new. I laughed. Hard. Comments have peaked, everyone. We have a winner.

Steam's still the best PC Gaming platform available by far though. Just because you're mad they're not making the games you want doesn't mean they're "evil".
What's changed since this video was made? CSGO had cases, Dota had loot caches and TF2 still had crates. Nothing about the microtransactions they've done has changed since this video was made. If they didn't care about their fans, Steam wouldn't still be getting updated and they wouldn't be making new games.
Well, Half-Life Alyx came out. And it WAS a passion project meant to leap VR forward so I guess they still are. And plus they made a FULL game to confirm Half-Life 3. So Valve is still good.
Well, it had an open beta and people could play it for free. If someone was looking forward to playing, then had a peek and decided that they didn't want it they wouldn't buy it.
The visuals in the Beta map were great, the gameplay was mediocre. Pretty sure the appearance is going to be deceptive and downgraded in every other map to sell more copies based off the Beta quality.

Its a shame what EA has done to that series. I remember pre-release interviews where one of the developers was criticizing other scary games and movies for being like a half second late with a particular audio cue or scare. Then before the release of Dead Space 3 marketing starts talking about how research shows that people don't want a scary game. All in hopes of taking a game that was great for a particular niche into the mainstream where it predictably bombed. With all the talk of data and market research wheres the info that says if you take an established and successful brand out of its element that its going to bomb?
Dirtbag359 Personally, I thought Dead Space 2 and 3 were awesome games (I've never played the first one), but I can see where you're coming from. I had a similar experience with Resident Evil 6, and though I was excited for it at first, I was a little turned off at how Capcom tried way too hard to please everyone by mixing survival horror with third-person shooter with stealth game all together. Keep in mind that the first game I played in the RE franchise was 5, which I thought was epic, so I can see your earlier point. Don't get me wrong, I still liked 6, but not as much as I liked 5.
HeartofLion3 I respectfully disagree. I think Dead Space 2 and 3 were better than most people give them for. Even if the fear factor was dropped somewhat, they still had amazing characters, an outstanding storyline, and an awesome combat system. I especially loved 3's online co-op mode where playing as John Carver unlocks another layer of story, and its customizing system for weapons.
HeartofLion3 Well then, it's apparent that our opinions are completely different when it comes to the Dead Space sequels. Oh, well. It's not the first time I've had the less-than-popular opinion on a certain topic. Let's just agree to disagree. :)

***** There's a huge circle-jerk in this video's comments. Battlefield 4 had a horrible launch and all, but it's been fixed for like the past 2-3 months already. They're even rolling out some big updates with the CTE patches and all. There really is no reason left for people to just randomly dog on Battlefield 4 anymore. At first, it was only about the bugs and how glitchy the game was. Now that the game is nearly fixed, they're going to try to find some other reason to hate it. Welcome to the internet. Enjoy your stay, Mr. xxxGraywolfxxx.

EA: that isnt total shit criterion: uhm burnout? EA: your right! lets make NFS like burnout but instead of unique car designs and crash scenes, we have licensed cars and little to no damage! Black box: wtf! what about us! EA: oh yeeeaah............your fired
Very likely most people who've watched this will still buy "Overhyped Sellout Lens Flare Dubstep War Zombies 6 HD" and 7 and 8 and 9 and 10 and 11...because even though people understand the message, they never learn. Im refering to Call of Duty and Battlefield titles in general. Back in my days when i bought a game, it took over 20 hours to complete for the first time, either because it was that long, or just super difficult, and im talking about Amiga, Genesis, Snes, PS1 titles. How you people can pay £50 for a game with less than 3 hours content baffles me as an older gamer, how you just accept being screwed out of so much cash for so little a game, but have it in your head that you arent being ripped off...absolutely dont understand todays gamers.
And the more and more these games get more silly, (double jumping, jumpjets, lazers, robots etc) the more and more i think they just wish they were Unreal Tournament.
Dude people still buy them because they are fun and they don't just play the campaign they also play the multiplayer and I'm assuming you don't play multiplayer at all. Also if you are talking about Advanced warfare multiplayer then you are delusional cuz the jet packs are actually EXO abilities and lasers and robots are about today's technology and what technology could look in the future for our society and our military so that's not silly there is some realism in it look at some military videos you will clearly see our military have already developed EXO skeletons and drones/robots and laser technology. Also just because you don't like those two games doesn't make them bad or a rip off it just means they are not or no longer your cup of tea and you just need to find something else to play.
Joshua Willis You know, back when multiplayer was a local thing, singleplayer was pretty much what the game was for. Multiplayer and a progression system is more or less a way to extend playtime. Rather than keep playing a game cause you want a story element, you keep playing because you want a digital item or upgrade. That's what he means.
Pikachu790 This is all why (and i know it's old) Medal of Honor: Allied Assault is still one of my fav shooters. Not only was multiplayer so good that clanbase still run worldwide tournaments on it even today, but the single player was just as marvellous as multiplayer. Games these days have lost the ability to do both any good.
One small complaint on an otherwise great vid: At 2:11 "Overhyped Sellout Lens Flare Dubstep War Zombies 4 HD" is shown to have an AO rating. That would GREATLY minimize profits, as many retailers such as Target and GameStop refuse to sell AO games, for example, the hot coffee mod incident, when RockStar had to do everything in their power to get their game back to an M rating so that most retailers would sell their game.
Canuckdude22 the game had to be E for all the damn kids that buy outaged games for them, god damnit and then you have all these idiotic parents talking shit about games when they dont give two fucks about their sons and buy them those "violent" and "horrible games" Fuck normies in gaming, slry

Tips to avoid shitty game: 1. Look at the game's publisher reputation, don't look IGN reviews, they are 99.10% untrusted. 2. Don't buy games for the only reason good looking, you play games for fun and should focus gameplay. 3. EA is only one of a game company out there making games, instant of playing EA games, why don't try out other games out there, you will know many game company also made awesome game even it is not triple A. 4. Look out for DLC, they are ruining the games industry for making more money for developers but give less in return unless they really adding more into the game, but most cases, it is not worthy. 5. Think twice before spending money on video games, buy games that will give you entertainment but not ragging on gitch and bugs all time. 6. Lastly, early access and Pre-order should be avoid if possible because it may increase the chance developer will take your money and run plus the game never fixed or release. Hope you have fun playing games, also share your experience with others, it helps building a good community for gamming. Hopefully...
L93bloomer :D Riiight, you know that not in every country you can simply go back to market and ask for refund, that goes for those who buys CD's, not digital download, about digital I don't know...I'm pirate, and I only waste my money on well observed and tested games by myself, if I place trust sign, then I check my wallet if I can afford it, if I can't, then...continuing my wonderful pirate experience and don't have to worry about wasted money on wrong items.
BIOSHOCKFOXX Some thing about pirate: 1. Risk getting virus if you are not carefull enough. 2. Unless it is only multi-player, almost all games can be download by torrent. ( you can still download some 'only multi-player' game and ply it by using some software 'top secret' ) 3. 100% free, don't get into some traps which you have to do somethings to get the passwords to unlock file. 4.Suitable for low budget gamers since those games always late to patch so mind yourself you are playing 'outdated' game. 5.Some people ways to play EA game by not buying them so EA bring DRM to their game and wish to disable them from plying their games for free but fail. 6.Company might hate them but they are still here, some of them did't understand people will buy their game if the game is good so instant lookings ways to defeat pirate, they should focus improve their game more. Gamers play game for fun, not paying to get fun, 'pay to win' is the worst gaming experince you can get, pirate always there unless you are in some countries which ban them but can still acess to them in some ways, instant of pirate, watching others play on youtube also a other way to enjoy the game if you did't want to pirate but want to feel the experince as well. ( or you can just buy it if you have $$ )
Pardon me, Rush_Freak, but I have a question: May I please compliment your video here? I really, _really_ like this video, and wish to express it, but I think I encountered a statement in one of your comments that implied that you don't want any feedback, positive or negative. I don't remember what or where it was, though.
Woah, thank you! I welcome feedback, I'm just tired of people whining to the point where I'm almost feeling sympathy for EA. :v Well that, and the fact that I've been practicing computer graphics work and game development theory for a few years now _really_ starts to open my eyes to the difficulties and hardships consumers can't really comprehend about development when they just want a working, fun experience. But yeah, this is basically the only video I get feedback on. It's pretty demotivating knowing anything I make won't be enjoyed by a fraction of the people this did just because it isn't relevant to current events.
I would say that I almost feel sorry for EA at this point as well, but I can't help but think that they brought it on themselves. They made horrendous decisions who's consequences now trickle down to those who fight tooth-and-nail to make a badass game and those who want to purchase one. Being as profitable and wholly unregulated as it is, the gaming industry quickly rose to prominence faster than anyone could comprehend. It went from selling a few thousand copies and making a million or so to selling thousands of copies and making millions in the span of about a decade. Instead of taking this industry and fostering it to prosperity, companies like EA decided instead to try every trick imaginable to exploit it's frankly uneducated and impulsive consumer base. This worked for a long time, and they gave not a single shit about who worked for them or what kind of product they sold to what kind of people, as long as they were getting more cash. But now we've come to a point where this uneducated consumer base is beginning to understand how much it's been exploited, and now there is a furious storm of unbiased anger toward a system that looks to be beyond fixing. Consumers are angry yet don't know what they want, Publishers are getting pummeled but don't know how to appease the mob. It's mainly on consumers for not paying attention to trends and instead continuing to allow themselves to get slowly more ripped-off over time. EA/AAA Pubs are at fault as well (as I said exploiting an upcoming industry to it's breaking point), but it's their job. They're a business first and foremost, and the purpose of a business is to make as much money as possible, which is what they were doing. So now the future is uncertain. Sorry for the essay.
quit being a suck up, the creator of this video made a good video, but unfortunately Rush Freak is an arrogant moron Don't ask permission to make a compliment
he really isn't that arrogant irl, it just seems that way here because most consumers rather than creators are absolute morons and don't have a reason to be mad but want to because it contradicts there opinion. and the content that does, isn't directed at them.
I keep trying to enjoy this video again as time goes by, but I find that the audio has been affected somehow. Anyone else noticing that it seems delayed, scratchy or muted for no reason throughout?
This is why I don't bother with most AAA games anymore. They're either CoD clones (BF post-BC, Crysis, Homefront, etc.) or screw their customers with DLC, DRM, and glitches. No room for quality or creativity, apparently.

I notice some of you in the comments seem a bit slow and lemming-ish in this video's favour. The point of this whole thing is to teach _you_ to be able to discern good products from bad _yourself_, ignoring media input and biases, not to blindly hate anything with an EA logo.
*Pretentious text wall incoming:*
If you don't consider Titanfall your type of game, thats cool, I hope you find what you're looking for elsewhere.
Titanfall looks like another boring FPS game.

The thing with corporations is: you don't like something, don't buy it. No one is forcing you to buy EA games, for example.

IF you like EA's Games, Get it from Torrent, it's got a better deal. Also, they give free Viruses in special deals sometimes. (Sometimes.)
The butthurt is strong on this one.
I think I'll stick with torrenting EAs' games. It's legal where I'm at so if they want to screw me, I'll return the favor. They have pulled their pranks one too many times for me to keep forking out money to them.
I think the word "delusional" is more fitting than butthurt.

Why does your comment instead make me think about Capcom and how they AFAIK actively tried to kill off Mega Man?

***** There's a huge circle-jerk in this video's comments. Battlefield 4 had a horrible launch and all, but it's been fixed for like the past 2-3 months already. They're even rolling out some big updates with the CTE patches and all. There really is no reason left for people to just randomly dog on Battlefield 4 anymore. EA with NFS
EA 2009: okay everyone! people are losing interest in NFS, i gues our attempts to poorly imitate other racergame features seem futile, any ideas?
employee: the fans have been asking several games such as underground 3, hot pursuit 3 and most wanted 2, lets give them those games and give black box enough to make the best game possible for the fans
EA: nah that requires effort, what is our other popular racing franchise?
employee: nascar?
EA: that isnt total shit
criterion: uhm burnout?
EA: your right! lets make NFS like burnout but instead of unique car designs and crash scenes, we have licensed cars and little to no damage!
Black box: wtf! what about us!

Pikachu790
This is all why (and i know it's old) Medal of Honor: Allied Assault is still one of my fav shooters. Not only was multiplayer so good that clanbase still run worldwide tournaments on it even today, but the single player was just as marvellous as multiplayer.
Games these days have lost the ability to do both any good.

One small complaint on an otherwise great vid:
At 2:11 "Overhyped Sellout Lens Flare Dubstep War Zombies 4 HD" is shown to have an AO rating. That would GREATLY minimize profits, as many retailers such as Target and GameStop refuse to sell AO games, for example, the hot coffee mod incident, when RockStar had to do everything in their power to get their game back to an M rating so that most retailers would sell their game.

Tips to avoid shitty game:

Some thing about pirate:
1. Risk getting virus if you are not carefull enough.
2. Unless it is only multi-player, almost all games can be download by torrent. ( you can still download some 'only multi-player' game and ply it by using some software 'top secret' )
3. 100% free, don't get into some traps which you have to do somethings to get the passwords to unlock file.
Pardon me, Rush_Freak, but I have a question:
May I please compliment your video here? I really, _really_ like this video, and wish to express it, but I think I encountered a statement in one of your comments that implied that you don't want any feedback, positive or negative. I don't remember what or where it was, though.
Woah, thank you! I welcome feedback, I'm just tired of people whining to the point where I'm almost feeling sympathy for EA. :v
Well that, and the fact that I've been practicing computer graphics work and game development theory for a few years now _really_ starts to open my eyes to the difficulties and hardships consumers can't really comprehend about development when they just want a working, fun experience.
Sorry for the essay.
quit being a suck up, the creator of this video made a good video, but unfortunately Rush Freak is an arrogant moron
Don't ask permission to make a compliment
+Rush_Freak yeah I agree
he really isn't that arrogant irl, it just seems that way here because most consumers rather than creators are absolute morons and don't have a reason to be mad but want to because it contradicts there opinion. and the content that does, isn't directed at them.
anyone elses audio cut out a bit? like especially at "you forgot something" right before the ship appears.
I'm having that issue too.
Made in 2012, NOTHING has changed ever since. We need a sequel.
11 years later and more relevant than ever
It's 2024 and this is no longer relatable
CAUSE IT GOT WORSE WAY WAY WORSE
We're in 2020 and this still holds 100% true.
Gaming simps are the worst gamers out there
