That was one big ass tree😮! We’ve lived in this home for nearly ten years now. 0.25 acre, a good sized lot for a Calif. suburban neighborhood. There were 3 good sized trees in the backyard. A 70’ redwood was the first to be cut after we had an arborist take a look at it. The nearly as tall Italian cypress next to the redwood got blown down during a winter storm - fortunately it fell into the big maple tree next to it, so no damage was done. Then we had the maple tree removed as it was awfully close to our garage. With the help of the Sacramento Tree Foundation, we planned for and planted new trees in the backyard (they provided the trees, free of charge). They won’t grow to be giants, but because of their placement, will provide plenty of shade on our home in the afternoon during our hot summer days. All the best, Will, getting through this. Thanks! and yeah it was one of those giant pin oaks that are about 5 feet in diameter. People don't really seem to care about trees here to the extent you're talking about unfortunately. Seems like you put a lot of time and effort into fixing and planting trees, if only someone here cared like that!
a matty's pattys burger would never fall on your shed and destroy everything inside of it, thus causing a complicated situation with insurance companies, property owners, and local government.
I live in Germany now and I noticed there are not very many really big trees. It's not because they won't grow it's because they're considered hazards and get cut down long before this happens. And then most of the houses are built out of reinforced concrete anyway. 😅

If only we thought that way 😂 Not only are huge trees everywhere but we build our houses cheaply here
