      I hear that. I don't know why companies don't show them on a person in the pics on websites. Yeah they give the dimensions but you can't visualise how big they are IRL.

    Nice and detailed review, you should get supported by Mil-Tec, I am sure thank to you a lot of people have purchased this backpack, ordering it now. Have a good day pal.

    Great review! Helped me make my decision on getting one of these. Agree with other commenters, seeing it worn and how it was packed is really useful. Also those mossy woods were gorgeous!

    Cool vid man. I like the pack too. Just picked one up today and just finished packing it up and it is an awesome little pack. I have all the essentials in it and still have plenty of room for extras. Great video. Keep at it brother. Cheers!

    Awesome video! I love how you stuffed it with items so we can see the actual size like the blanket roll in the biggest compartment for length, the stainless steel water bottle and first aid kit in the next largest compartment. It really helps

      no problem, still plenty of space in there and on the bag too

    Ive had mine for 7 years and its been brilliant!, mines full of battle scars and rips now but the zips are still fantastic. I had a cheap Kombat UK branded one which was utter garbage compared to the Mil tec one. the clips broke on the Kombat one in a month and whos genius idea was it to have the shoulder straps supported by clip buckles? (no weight loading at all on the crappy Kombat one). I really want a maxpedition bag but im really struggling to justify one when the Mil tec bag is such a tough bag, I would buy another one in a heartbeat!

    Great bag. I had a slightly smaller version, had it a while no problems. Just upgraded (needed a slightly bigger pack) I only went for a different make only because of a slightly better design. Still a great bag, you don't really need to pay maxpedition prices! Cheers Steve.

    • @TheDaveDryden
      @TheDaveDryden  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +C Veg (Bushcraft) ya I like it a lot and I basically got that instead of the maxpedition stuff too lol. I have a 60L bag but I rarely use it because I don't often go for those 5 day+ type hikes anymore. So basically this is perfect for everything else.

  • @jonnyboat2
    @jonnyboat2 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have an old Jansport pack I used in college that has about that much space and is built like that. I paid 100 or more for it. I still use it. I never hiked with it. It’s still practically new.

    Just ordered mine in black. I think you could open up the straps on the bottom and pull them out of the webbing to make the bottom strap loops bigger. I mean at 2:46, the straps go over your hand but under some webbing.

    • @TheDaveDryden
      @TheDaveDryden  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'll take a look at that and let you know. been using this bag quite a bit though and have nothing to complain about

    • @diynevala
      @diynevala 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +BC Bushcraft Mine will arrive today, so I'll find out about that soon enough. Just pointing out the possible solution. My assault pack will just be a judo bag, or maybe a general every day carry. I also have a chest strap bag, custom made for this pack! It will attach on the shoulder straps to distribute weight more evenly, and provide a fast-access pouch for maybe a cellphone and a wallet.

    • @TheDaveDryden
      @TheDaveDryden  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +diynevala Nice, ya I have made my own fix for the chest strap. it actually isn't too bad wearing it with just the hip strap, the hip strap takes a lot of weight off the shoulders. definitely and awesome day bag

    • @diynevala
      @diynevala 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +BC Bushcraft Couple of days behind and I already love this pack. I transferred all essential stuff from my previous bag (more of a laptop-bag style) to this new backpack, and still got room for the judogi or other equipment, depending on the situation. I'll just unload/load the main pocket and keep essentials packed regardless of where I am going. The only downside on using the front pockets is that the backpack tends to tip forward when the main pocket is empty.

    • @TheDaveDryden
      @TheDaveDryden  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +diynevala sweet glad it's working out, it definitely has a surprising amount of space to work with

    I think you will really like this pack. I have done 3 videos about this pack...in one I made a modification to the pack so now I can carry my MSS bag underneath. It carries well. I hope you would give them a look. Have fun with this pack...I know you will enjoy it

    I have this exact pack and just recently semi retired it in favor of my modded Swedish LK35 frame pack, modded with Canadian Forces 82 pattern shoulder harness and American Alice kidney pad and belt. A few tips about the Mil-tec pack, don't bother with a water bladder-stick your Fiskars X7 in there. Also, get yourself some external water bottle pouches like the ones that Military 1st sells on Ebay with a draw string top. Draw string because you can fit ANY size water bottle in it and they are about $25 Canadian and free shipping.
    That will make a ton of room in your pack and you will be amazed just how long you can last in one of those little packs!

    • @TheDaveDryden
      @TheDaveDryden  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +TurtleWolf Pack I have taken notice of some of those external pouches you talk of and I just might have to get one now haha. Thanks for the tips much appreciated

      +TurtleWolf Pack Here in Finland, we have an old village called Fiskars, and it is the original home of the high quality scissors and axes. When ever those axes are mentioned, it makes me so proud of the Finnish products - not just axes, but all domestic stuff. They are pricey, but high quality.

      Vincent McCloskey bag has held up great, you can see me using it on my other bushcraft vids. the most I have put in it is around 35-40pounds. it's not a bag that I would put more than 35pounds really otherwise it is uncomfortable. I will be doing a year review on it soon.

    • @TheDaveDryden
      @TheDaveDryden  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it was olive green, I've had it for about a year now and I've done several overnights and lots of camping trips with it. has been holding up great, you'll like it

  • @deenerdz5021
    @deenerdz5021 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    could you use this for a 2 day camping trip

    • @TheDaveDryden
      @TheDaveDryden  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes, but you will have to pack light and probably tie sleeping gear on the outside. You could do a week with this bag but your gear and such gets more limited. so it depends what your doing for those 2 days and if you are bringing a tent

    • @deenerdz5021
      @deenerdz5021 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +BC Bushcraft I would be bringing a tent , sleeping bag, sleeping matt, change of clothes, food, water, stove, and some other things would that fit?

    • @TheDaveDryden
      @TheDaveDryden  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +DeeNerdz the tent is the hard part, if it is bigger than a single tent you will find it hard to get all that stuff in and on the bag. I use a tarp to eliminate that problem and usually no sleeping bag in summer

    • @deenerdz5021
      @deenerdz5021 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +BC Bushcraft so would a sleeping bag sleeping matt and a tarp be fine for it or should I also get a bivi bag

    • @TheDaveDryden
      @TheDaveDryden  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +DeeNerdz I don't own a bivi bag, since it's summer you only need to set your tarp to protect you from rain. than sleeping mat and bag under it will be very comfortable. just know that bugs and such can get to you when using a tarp so I usually set up beside a fire. the fire is also comforting in the dead of night when things get creepy

  • @AndersErichsen-rr7vs
    @AndersErichsen-rr7vs 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    At the bottom for sleeping pads or whatever - couldn't you just take them of the.... attachment where they go through and then make it larger? Would make it a lot bigger if they were not going through those holes on each side and directly to the lock thing... I'm not sure if anyone understands me...

    • @TheDaveDryden
      @TheDaveDryden  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Anders Erichsen yup I understand I have tried to do that. I think it would be possible but the strap is stitched so it won't come out. so you would have to undo that and then re stitch most likely. if I have something bigger I just opt to paracord/rope lash it to the bottom. that never fails lol

    Well I'm from Europe and I have far enough knowledge about companies like Miltec or Max Fuchs, and I would choose Condor Outdoors anyday. Miltec is just slightly better then china stuff. So I'm just here looking at this and thinking why didn't you get Condor instead. So please, when you have time...

    • @TheDaveDryden
      @TheDaveDryden  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +A. Croatoan I don't have a condor bag so I can't say much. All I know is that the mil tec bag is good for how much it costs. Only a little more than a basic high school bag for me. Maybe condor is better quality but I don't really know, just that I am very happy with this bag, and it will do everything I want it to.
