The location of the Ranger who triggers the dialogue affects this, just very slightly though. Redo the fight again and again until you get that instance wherein Crow survives the robots' 1st turn. I was playing this on the latest and final patch 169.420 so if I did it, it means it's possible.

Idk what they changed recently, but crow is killed immediately by the robots. There's no way for me to get this achievement.
