I'm considering it for vlogging. The question "why put a cheap lens on an expensive camera?" is easily answered with "Because that's what I've got." I have a Sigma 24-70mm, which is a bit too tight at the wide end to vlog with. I could use my phone, but the battery quickly becomes an issue there. And a $150 full frame lens is much cheaper than buying something like a ZV-1 camera, which is not upgradable and will depreciate like crazy. So yeah, a cheap, light little lens can be good for shooting yourself where the image quality isn't the main issue. And even on that, a cheap lens on a full frame camera is still going to look much better than your average phone or GoPro footage, and people have no issue with those being edited into TH-cam videos. The only concern I would have is the lack of weather sealing, because I wonder if that couldn't not only affect the lens itself, but also put the camera at risk. I don't want to risk moisture getting into a $2k camera because I put a $150 lens on it that wasn't weather sealed..
I'm really holding out hope that Viltrox can somehow port their lens lineup to L mount cameras. The Viltrox 85mm for the Nikon Z was one of my absolutely favorite lenses and it was my main money maker. It was somewhat clinical with a lot of character. Viltrox makes really solid lenses for their prices and I really like what they're doing. They're bringing unique modern lenses to the masses.
Uhh wow this is exactly what I was looking for! I really want a wide angle and have been looking at the Sigma 16-28 (probably someday) but I think this is perfect for now! I moved from the S5 to the A7IV and currently have the Sigma 28-70 but I really missed the 20-60 kit lens from the S5. I'll be picking this up with your link, thanks for the find! edit: Wide angle and an ND for $176 - that's why I moved to Sony 😂
I was searching for someone moved from s5 to Sony and here you are! How do you feel after this change? I know your main reason was autofocus but what else? How do you feel the image/video quality difference?
Very cheap for sure! Wow that weather sealing is awful but what can you expect with that kind of cash….not a bad deal still 😂 Awesome work as always bud!!! #loveyourcreators
Bottom line...its a piece of crap lens that is not worth the packaging it came in. For those of you on a budget...continue saving your pennies and wait till you can buy a quality lens which will pay for itself in no time. Don't fall for these cheap Chinese lenses appearing all over Amazon because I promise you will regret it later. In this life you get what you pay for and going cheap in the art of photography is simply not recommended. This advice comes form somebody who has been practicing the art of photography for more than 25 years.

mine is pretty sharp in the centre - a nice little lens on my A7c next to the 28mm 2.0
Great to hear
Can u compare the viltrox20mm with the sony 28 f2? Sharpness and autofocus in low light?

Does it have Af assist when youre shooting video?
Well they didn't cut every possible corner they could. That would require a plastic lens mount.
thanks for the great video✌️ can u compare it to Samyang 18mm 2.8 ? thanks again
Can I use it for my A6700
yes
Gonna grab it . Really just need it for wedding ring photos .
