My mom and her sister were identical twins and I gotta tell it was weird to have two identical mothers and that’s what happened because they were never separated. They would go to their respective families at night but during the day, together. And dont get me started on the weird language they used or how many times I watched them communicate without words. I saw my mom on so many occasions pick up the phone (1950’s) and my aunt would be on the line. I grew up believing all this was normal but as an adult im glad for the experience . Thanks for sharing this video,i find twins fascinating beyond words.
@@normajefferson3977 Oh My Gosh! That is how my identical twin sister and I were. Often we would pick up the phone before it rang and we were talking. We had our own language and mental telepathy abilities. One time I went camping and she went on a trip and at that time we had basically stopped dressing identical because we were teenagers and although the clothes were different, I came home in a yellow blouse and blue shorts, and she came home in a yellow blouse and blue shorts. It was so uncanny. When she went into Braxton Hicks contractions that happened just before you give birth I felt them and thought at that time she was in labor and I called her and she was at the hospital. I knew I have no idea how but I knew if we got a treat like a Coke or a candy bar I would have to hide the remainder of mine and should always seek out my hiding place and get it. Our youngest sons are identical twins. They were a surprise thinking 2 kids was plenty. They have kept us younger and more active. People in Scouts and sports were always surprised how old we were, usually old enough to he their parents! It's been a great experience that's not over yet. They each had sons born just 4 months apart - virtual twins! They don't have the almost intuitive understanding of each other that their fathers still share but they do bring back memories when they go running after each other across the yard.
@@sierratim6023 when my identical sister and I had kids it was so much fun to see our kids not know which Momma to go to. We just laughed and laughed. It was so cute also genetically because my identical twin and I share the same DNA my kids and her kids are genetically half sisters as well as first cousins. I did a DNA test with ancestry and it listed my niece as my daughter that’s how much DNA was shared. She was listed as a daughter if my other nieces and nephews were to do an ancestry DNA test, I’m sure they would come up as sons and daughters as well.
I have two sets of twins. The first set is identical, although it was thought they weren't until they both went into the Army, and yes, they are identical, and went into some kind of twin study. The second certainly are fraternal, boy and girl. All four are lefties.
I had best friends in high school who were identical twins. One was left handed and the other right, one was gay and the other straight, one was born with one tooth missing from his set of adult teeth and the other had one too many... there were heaps of little mirror opposite things like this but I can't remember them now (it's been over 20 years!) but I always found it fascinating
As a mother of fraternal *triplets* , I found many similarities to having twins. I was also supposed to be a twin (vanishing twin situation) and fraternal twins run rampant on both sides of my family ancestry. I would **LOVE** to see a List 25 video on Triplets and/or Higher-Order Multiples (ie, triplets, quadruplets, quintuplets, and more)!!
My brother had an Fraternal twin who died in before being born (My mom was about 5 months a long) The doctors had to deliver his twin but, not him. I guess what happened is that my brother was so much bigger that he took up more of the uterus and nutrients. If his twin had been born alive, my brother would have been fine but, Dean, his twin, would have been severely mentally and physically handicapped. When the twin died, the doctors told my mother that she was no longer pregnant. She told them that she was and could still feel the baby moving. An x-ray was done and there was a 2nd baby in there, my brother Dale. she carried him full term. this was in 1969.
My Mom was a twin. Everybody said they were identical. I could ALWAYS tell the difference between Mom & my Aunt. They were born in 1921, the last of 8 children. My Mom died of colon cancer at 46. My Aunt died of complications from a stroke at 85.
Same. My mom and her sister were identical, born in 1963. My friends were always baffled at how I could tell them apart. Like, a kid just knows their mother. 🤷♀️ My mom & her twin sister were the last of 13 kids. Yup, 13.
My dad was an identical twin. He died of cancer at 57 and his brother died of heart problems at 94. I could always tell them apart, but others couldn’t. They loved playing tricks on people and pretending that they were the other twin. They were born 15 minutes apart, but on different days; one before midnight and one after midnight. My dad was ambidextrous. I’m pretty sure they forced him to be right handed but he was probably born left handed.
My mum died from a stroke too last April. Today is my first birthday without her ringing me or seeing me. I also knew twins and could tell the difference even though they were identical. Don't mean it in a bad way but one of them had a dopier looking face than the other especially while thinking. Sadly one has passed away there too. Sorry to hear you lost your mum too
Mariam Nabatanzi (Mama Uganda) has 44 children. In 2015, her husband abandoned the family, reportedly unable to support so many children. Born around 1980, Babirye first gave birth when she was 13 years old, having been forced into marriage the year prior. By the age of 36, she had given birth to a total of 44 children, including three sets of quadruplets, four sets of triplets, and six sets of twins, for a total of fifteen births. The number of multiple births was caused by a rare genetic condition causing hyperovulation as a result of enlarged ovaries. In 2019, when Babirye was aged 40, she underwent a medical procedure to prevent any further pregnancies.Guess she really loves yams.
#4 my grandkids were born 1 year apart. They are so close they are always together, they finish each other's sentences and talk to each other like twins. That is freaky!
So weird did an episode called. Fi's Father Rick, is twins with her aunt Rachel. She has a brother named Jack in the show. Fi played by Kara Delizia starred in 40 episodes of the show.
My cousin has identical autistic twin boys and her and their dad didn't make three years of marriage, her alcoholism grew out of control and she passed before she was 50 and the boys (25 yrs at her death) are now living in a convalescent home
I'm a twin to my sister, non identical, we both have different skin tones, blood opposites, I was born just before midnight and my sister was born half an hour later, being a twin when younger wasn't good, you were dressed alike, same haircut,no say in what you want to wear. 1 bday cake between the 2. Sharing a room,no privacy. 1 good thing you were in different classes at school.🇦🇺
I have mirror image identical twin boys. We certainly had some interesting times when they were little. Now 34 years old, they still have a very interesting bond. They can scene when something is happening to the other.
Phil and Lil have to be fraternal, one boy and one girl! On the mirror twins, are their organs on the opposite side too? I had a patient like that in a nursing home.
I’m a mirror identical twin! We are exact opposites of each other. I’m left handed she’s right handed. When we were kids we would lose a tooth on opposite sides of each other. It’s weird when we eat at restaurants together but we look like we are mirroring each other as we eat, because we naturally eat and drink at the same time! We love it. And yes we have that weird twin thing where I get hurt and she feels it.
There are 27 sets of twins in my family from my mother's side. Starting in the late 1800's . My cousins are the last so far and were born in 1946. All the twins are identical. And yes other than two,my uncle and one of my cousins they all had long lives.
My sisters are identical. One is left handed. They both gave birth to girls only two weeks apart. The one with a left handed mother is right and the other is a lefty. The comparisons like this are endless.
There was a set of twins who married & had kids with another set of twins. There's a set of triplets who had kids at the same time. Double cousins are a thing, but they're probably not that common.
1:27 🤔 it’s possible that seeing genuine closeness and loyalty among a twins dynamic may trigger a couple to question or doubt their own relationship. The best way to condemn a filthy glass is to put a clean one next to it.
I went to high school with a guy who was the only single birth his mom had. He had an older set of identical twin brothers and two sets of identical twin sisters.
I am a fraternal twin.. born at 3:08pm Michael was at 3:11pm, we had some similarities.. after high school we both entered the US Navy, we both married and had 3 children ( boy, girl, boy) in that order.
My dad had a fraternal twin. My uncle outlived my dad and both of his wives. My dad had a stroke, my 1st aunt died of leukemia, and my 2nd aunt had a heart attack. My son's dad has an identical twin brother. I don't know much about them since I haven't spoken to him in almost thirty years.
Fun video - B, Fraternal, Africa is a Continent - not a country, currently 54 recognized countries January 26, 2025 - according to Google - which may or may not be the same number tomorrow.
My boyfriend has an identical mirror twin. And it’s funny because they kinda hate each other. Ever since birth, they’ve never gotten along. They’re the first set of twins I’ve met like this.
3. Male vs Female twins. I believe it has something related to the survival of Female babies. Both of my boys were part of twins, I lost them in the 1st trimestre. One is 20 and the other 32, and were both premature babies.
Twins don't always have a close bond. I once taught a member of a twin pair who had such a bad relationship with his twin that they lived in separate households. Their parents were divorced, and one lived with the mom and the other with the father, and they went to different high schools.
My twins are almost an hour apart. I was hoping for 2 different days as then they would be born in 2 different months as well. They are as different from each other as can be and still share an extremely close bond with each other.
Our middle daughters are Identical Mirror Twins. They are Situs Inversus twins: internal organs are opposite side (rare). Though identical, one is left-side dominant, the other right. Sometimes it's cute and funny, other a bit weird.
I was a twin but my twin passed in the first trimester. My twin did not miscarry or be absorbed. Instead my mum spent 7 months on bed rest because of blood poisoning that was caused by my twin. The doctors didn't want to tell her I was a twin after I was born because they couldn't tell while she was pregnant due to the nearest ultrasound machine being too far away to risk travelling her to it.
I was told by two doctors that the fact that I DIDN'T end up with twins in either of my pregnancies was an oddity. Because, we have twins on both sides of my family, and because I am very tall and have an irregular ovulation. One doctor told me after my daughter was born (second child) that the chances of me conceiving twins in my next pregnancy were very high. My daughter ended up being my LAST pregnancy. Simply because I was 35 when she was born and I got my tubes removed 3 years later.
So.. your doctor thought you would have twins because you are very tall and have irregular ovulation? That is the strangest thing I’ve heard in a long time! I definitely would find a new doctor!!!

My dad is a twin he is left-handed his sister is right-handed all the rest of his siblings are right-handed as well his twin sister could read anything my dad could barely read it all but show him what to do and he can do just about anything he was great with mathematics and building things he even worked for the space center for a while
Alot of twins have their own language in the begining. To us it sounds like gibberishbut ech one knows what the other is saying. We noticed it when they were playing in the back yard. One would say something we didnt understand but the other twin knew what the other twin was saying and you could see it. We found out when my daughter in law talked to the pediatrition and thats when he said that its not uncommon for twins to have their own language and we should just talk notmally to them and they will soon pick up on our language and over time they will start to talk like everyone else.
I was born in South Africa. Yams are not a big part of our diet. That is more of a West African thing. The African continent is massive and has 54 fully recognized countries. I love your channel and the care you usually take to pronounce names correctly and to be inclusive and so forth. This gaffe is a big and really disappointing surprise to me. Perhaps you could make up for it by making a video about 25 amazing facts about the people of the African continent (that doesn’t center dictators, famines, wars, and genocides). Or, if you’d really like extra credit, 25 amazing facts about each country. That would be nice.
I'm surprised it upset you so much you had to comment on it. He made an innocent mistake, so what? The entirety of your comment was so very condescending and not necessary for an honest mistake. Your comment of if "he'd like extra credit" was arrogant. Does his apology need to be signed in blood for you, too? Don't be so sensitive. Loosen up and relax.
@@lisalynnmarie2448 I actually understand your surprise. This is an example of a dog whistle. I also understand you wanting to stick up for Mike. I also think he’s a great guy. African people are regularly confronted by assumptions that we are weird, primitive, and ignorant (“The Dark Continent”) - even from people who have the best intentions. This happens all the time to Africans but very rarely to White Americans. Hence the dog whistle thing. Mike’s surprise that the kids in Congo know about cowboys like people being surprised when a girl is good at math. These types of assumptions are more than just tedious. They can have serious consequences. I came to the US when I was almost six and the school tried to keep me out of kindergarten because they assumed I couldn’t speak English. It shocked them that not only was I fluent in (British) English, I could speak four languages. My brother suffered terribly as a toddler because the doctor couldn’t diagnose chickenpox on him. They assumed that because he was from Africa (think jungle even though there are no jungles where I was born) he must have some horrible exotic disease and gave him treatments that were totally unnecessary and very painful. That was just the beginning. Malaria is a chronic condition (like how the Chickenpox virus always stays with you) but is not communicable. In my community here in the US we’ve had two people die from malaria because the hospital assumed they had some horrible Ebola something and refused to listen to the family and just give them quinine. We don’t go to the hospital anymore when someone has a malaria attack. As for the extra credit, that really was meant to be tongue in cheek. In my experience there is a strong correlation between being obsessed with facts and lists and being obsessed with doing well in school. As a kid I was obsessed with knowing things (which is part of why I love this channel) and getting every drop of extra credit, too. I love extra credit. Mike seems to be obsessed with knowing things and getting things right, too and so would seem to also go for the extra credit. I was attempting a nerd joke. I guess I’ll keep my day job.
@@lisalynnmarie2448 gah! I thought this was a different video (also with some unfortunate assumptions about the African continent - which actually speaks to my point). Basically, it just would be nice to be seen, you know? To be recognized instead of being erased all the time and this here is an example of erasure. It happens constantly so, no, I’m not going to relax about it. You wouldn’t relax about sexism would you?
I am an identical twin. When we were kids, my brother and I participated in quite a few twin studies...one I recall in particular where they studied genetic susceptibility to cancer. Decades later I got in touch with the primary researcher and she told me that our participation contributed significantly towards a much better understanding of the occurrence of cancer. No... they didn't give one of us cancer and use the other as a control. They just studied our blood.
№1 How about if twins were born 1st 23:59:30 Dec. 31, 2000 & #2 00:01:30 Jan. 1, 2001? Then they would be born different year, century, and MILLENNIUM!!!😮/😮. 😊😊 🤓🤓😎😎✌🏼✌🏼☮️☮️🥳🎉🎊🎂
You are right on most of these with me and my identical twin brother. The only one I regret not being is left-handed. I was the one they thought would be left-handed, but when they started to teach us how to right I up and started using my right hand. I blame my brother... for reasons. I was also almost born on another day from my brother. The answer is B.
WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND things that Twins are born “simultaneously”?! Unless it’s a C-section…HOLY HAIL. Also…do we all really think Africa is a country?
They can be born at the same time in the case of an emergency C-section and both babies are in the same amniotic sac. It may be pretty rare, but it's happened.
Hi there hon, thank you for always putting out great videos, you and the rest of the team always do a great job! There was something I wanted to ask about in regard to other videos you put up, not this one. I noticed that sometimes (not often) you talk about animal cruelty without any warning or heads up. I know that a lot of people are okay with it, but to some of us it is so traumatizing to hear or see this sort of thing. Would you mind please either leaving out examples of animal cruelty from your videos or giving a warning ahead of time if you are going to talk about such a thing? Thank you so much! Please keep up the great work, I look forward to more great videos 🥰
Hey Mike cool video. Phil and Lil btw used watch them with my eldest son. Did you ever hear of a place and it has the most twins in any town. I cant remember where it is but they celebrate being twins every year. A lot of people mistake Africa for a country too but but there are oh is it 40 odd countries in Africa. Take no notice of people. Do a little research or ut could have been a slip of the tongue too. Either wag don't let it bother you.
I have twin grandsons and they used to trick me when they were little. They actually used to come up with idea to fool me about which one was which. I was able to tell them apart because one wore glasses. One time one of them came to me and asked me which one he was I said thats easy youre Owen because of theglasses and they both laughed and said Nope im isaac. It was isaacs idea to wearOwens glasses and come ask me which one he was LOL! They got me every time. They did all kinds of things to confuse me. They were too smart
my husband is a fraternal twin, and he and his sister are nearly polar opposites. he's blonde-haired, blue-eyed and his sister is brown-hair with brown eyes. they're both as stubborn as their dad, but for different situations. she has glasses, he doesn't. but they both needed braces. personality-wise they're pretty different too, she's very social and my husband is pretty introverted. they were at odds a lot growing up but have since grown closer. we were concerned we would have twins when i got pregnant because he was a twin and there are four or five sets of identical twins from my family on my mom's side. but nope, had a singlet lol.
My dad and uncle are identical twins. They have different birthdays. Dad was born on the last day of the month, and my uncle was born on the first day of the next month. Dad was born at 23:45 and my uncle was born 45 minutes later. They weren't only born on different days in different months, but also in different school years! That made it a pain in the ass when it came for my uncle to leave school. He went through school in the same year as my dad, but when it came time to leave they told him he head to repeat the last year again because he was "too young to leave"! My grandma wrote to Margaret Thatcher to ask her to make an exception, but she got a reply back from her office, basically saying tough shit. Dad and uncle ended up on the news because of it as well as on a talk show. (Can't for the life of me remember the name of the host though!)
My brother and I were alwas accused of being twins we looked that much alike. Trouble was it was twenty one months apart. Oh yeah I'm female, and the older one.
Both of my parents in identical twins. They live apart and only saw each other 6 or 8 times a year. We they did meet up they always wore same colour clothes. Our dog used to get confused and freak out when he pick the wrong twin. My father and uncle were mirror twins. One right handed one left and had a birth mark on different side of the head. I have lots of stories of them doing weird stuff
My momma and auntie are identical twins, and I grew up with two sets of twins in the same family. The two sets were fraternal twins. I told my mom since twins normally skip a generation, I wanted them. She looked at me like I had grown a second head. Oh and the answer to the trivia is B. Phil & Lil.
12:54 I have an ancestor from the late 1880’s/1890’s who had 3 sets of twins. One set didn’t survive birth. In te second set only one survived. The third set were quite unique. She labored and gave birth to them two days apart. This was a home birth in a rural part of Quebec. Roughly 25 year later both twins contracted the flu during the epidemic of the early 1900’s. They died two days apart with the first born being the first to die.

My cousin has identical autistic twin boys and her and their dad didn't make three years of marriage, her alcoholism grew out of control and she passed before she was 50 and the boys (25 yrs at her death) are now living in a convalescent home
Some twins have strange coincidences . Jim and John both marry a woman named Betty , a dog named Duke , and a daughter named Rebecca . 😊
So Weird did an episode called twin. Cara Delizia starred in 40 episodes of this show.
Fun Fact: My grandson is the father of two sets of twins. One setby wife #1; one set by wife 2. No twins in families before this.
Im an identical twin and this was fascinating. My twin is my absolute favorite person in the world!
I'm an identical twin. Can't imagine life not being a twin
There was a set of twins who married a set of twins & had kid with them. There's also a set of female triplets who had kids at the same time.
@alansun70 wth I can't imagine that crap wow
Phil and Lil have to be fraternal, one boy and one girl! On the mirror twins, are their organs on the opposite side too? I had a patient like that in a nursing home.
I’m a mirror identical twin! We are exact opposites of each other. I’m left handed she’s right handed. When we were kids we would lose a tooth on opposite sides of each other. It’s weird when we eat at restaurants together but we look like we are mirroring each other as we eat, because we naturally eat and drink at the same time! We love it. And yes we have that weird twin thing where I get hurt and she feels it.
My dad and uncle were twins. They were born in separate days, separate time of the month and separate years. 1922 and 1923.
I have a twin sister, she one of my best friends. She was born 3 minutes after me
Cole & Dylan Sprouse are twins.
I went to high school with a guy who was the only single birth his mom had. He had an older set of identical twin brothers and two sets of identical twin sisters.
Well latitude has an effect on proportion of females being born. More females are born near the equator.
American ignorance
My husband’s grandmother had 2 sets of twins.it’s been 3 generations and none of the females in the family have produced twins.
The Rugrat twins are Phil and Lil. Of course they are fraternal because they are a boy and a girl.
Our middle daughters are Identical Mirror Twins. They are Situs Inversus twins: internal organs are opposite side (rare). Though identical, one is left-side dominant, the other right. Sometimes it's cute and funny, other a bit weird.
Phil and Lil and they are fraternal. I love Phil, he is my favorite rugrat 😆
I'm a fraternal twin. I knew most of these.
My mum and Aunty are identical, they are 92, the last of 6 children. My grandparents never devorsed. I have twin grandaughters ,also identical.
I didn’t have twins, but I gave birth to seven children. I’m 4’11”, so height didn’t prevent me from having a big family

@CosmoCide24 and because my family has a history of twins

It's phil and Lil and they are fraternal twins
First!! Love the videos mike!! Keep it up bro! 💪🏼
Interesting video as always, Mike!
Amazing video Thanks List25 and Mike ❤👍
Alot of twins have their own language in the begining. To us it sounds like gibberishbut ech one knows what the other is saying. We noticed it when they were playing in the back yard. One would say something we didnt understand but the other twin knew what the other twin was saying and you could see it. We found out when my daughter in law talked to the pediatrition and thats when he said that its not uncommon for twins to have their own language and we should just talk notmally to them and they will soon pick up on our language and over time they will start to talk like everyone else.
Phil and Lil are fraternal twins on Rugrats. 🎉
Good idea. I’d love that.
I'd be up for that. And then do Asia the same way. Americans tend to think all of Asia as one big country with various names.
Hey Mike glad to see you back we missed you
Phil and Lile fraternal twins. My children loved that show ( confessing I did too lol)
25: 19th century twins in Denmark may have had longer lifespans
25 is the percentage for 1/4. It's also the smallest square that's the sum of 2 other squares, 9 & 16.
i was supposed to have been a twin, but sadly I was the one who was born. Always wondered if I was to Feternal or Biological.
Re #11 : My twins have always been polar opposites and they came from one egg 🤷
It's phill and lill and their fraternal twins.
Phil and Lil Fraternal Twins
Phil and Lil, I think. And I think they're fraternal
I immediately thought of the Barbers!
Phil and lil is the answer to the trivia question and they were fraternal twins
Hey Mike 🌹🌻🍃Phil & Lil✌️💚😎🌺🌴🌊☀️🌈
№1 How about if twins were born 1st 23:59:30 Dec. 31, 2000 & #2 00:01:30 Jan. 1, 2001? Then they would be born different year, century, and MILLENNIUM!!!😮/😮. 😊😊 🤓🤓😎😎✌🏼✌🏼☮️☮️🥳🎉🎊🎂
I’m doubly blessed to have identical boys. ❤️❤️
Phil & Lil, fraternal
Heinlein's YA novel "Time for the Stars" used twins to communicate between ships traveling to the stars and Earth. Good tale.
№24 How about at playing tennis doubles? 🤓😎✌🏼☮️
Phil & Lil -fraternal twins
You are right on most of these with me and my identical twin brother. The only one I regret not being is left-handed. I was the one they thought would be left-handed, but when they started to teach us how to right I up and started using my right hand. I blame my brother... for reasons. I was also almost born on another day from my brother. The answer is B.
Twins ?? More like clones.
B. Phil & Lil!
Phil and lil and they are fraternal twins as they are a boy and girl twin set
WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND things that Twins are born “simultaneously”?! Unless it’s a C-section…HOLY HAIL. Also…do we all really think Africa is a country?
They can be born at the same time in the case of an emergency C-section and both babies are in the same amniotic sac. It may be pretty rare, but it's happened.
Phil & Lil are fraternal.
Always loved the rug rats
Phil & Lil!
Phillip and Lilian! 🙃
A "non-birthing parent" is called a father.
Lil and Phil...Doesn't everyone know that?
I have twin grandsons and they used to trick me when they were little. They actually used to come up with idea to fool me about which one was which. I was able to tell them apart because one wore glasses. One time one of them came to me and asked me which one he was I said thats easy youre Owen because of theglasses and they both laughed and said Nope im isaac. It was isaacs idea to wearOwens glasses and come ask me which one he was LOL! They got me every time. They did all kinds of things to confuse me. They were too smart
1:56 i never knew this 1
my husband is a fraternal twin, and he and his sister are nearly polar opposites. he's blonde-haired, blue-eyed and his sister is brown-hair with brown eyes. they're both as stubborn as their dad, but for different situations. she has glasses, he doesn't. but they both needed braces. personality-wise they're pretty different too, she's very social and my husband is pretty introverted. they were at odds a lot growing up but have since grown closer.
we were concerned we would have twins when i got pregnant because he was a twin and there are four or five sets of identical twins from my family on my mom's side. but nope, had a singlet lol.
I graduated high school with a set of twins. 1 of the twins recently passed away, announced by her twin sister.
Phil & Lil!!😊
My brother and I were alwas accused of being twins we looked that much alike. Trouble was it was twenty one months apart. Oh yeah I'm female, and the older one.
I'm a fraternal twin, I was born first
Both of my parents in identical twins.
Phil & Lil.
B phil and lil And they were fraterinal
Rugrats twins. Answer is B and obviously fraternal. Boy and a girl
As the mother of twins myself I am very thankful for hospitals and modern medicine.
The twins in Rugrats were phil and Lil
