I'm so appreciative to Arsenal for allowing us to loan Isak from them for almost 3 seasons now! I was delighted when we signed him from Sociedad, was a little worried about his injuries in his first 12 months, but he's getting better every week at the moment. Long may it continue! Hopefully we can secure top 5 this season and Champions League football to convince him to stay, if we do achieve this a new deal for Isak should be on the table right away.
I remember watching Isak for half a season on loan at Willem II six years ago. I know it's only the Eredivisie, but seeing a teenager with his technique, plus nearly scoring every game overall showed his enormous potential.
James id love to see you do a deep dive into Newcastle properly, since the take over and just how good Eddie Howe has done, what you think Newcastle will do in the next 18-24 months and by extension can Eddie Howe take Newcastle to that next level and that being winning trophies? Is he at the stage stage of his career where he can potentially be moving into his prime as a manager and join those in that top level just behind elite managers like pep, ancelotti, Jose and the likes who have won pretty much all there is
Alexander the Great Isakkkk he’s so so good man… never seen such a compete forward. Hope we get champions league so all these vultures circling (who can’t afford him) can do oneee!! ⚫️⚪️
Let’s give Eddie Howe credit. English manager challenging top half of the league. Probably more English players in his squad than all the top teams. I don’t know but he could have the most English players in the squad than any other club. No English manager has ever won the Premier League. That is shocking and needs addressing
The first time I saw Isak play was when he was for Borussia Dortmund on TV and the same when he was in the B team before moving to Willem and then to Spain to go to Sociedad
I feel like this neglects something crucial that a lot of fans of other clubs and “pundits” miss He’s not prolific outside of the Newcastle team, people assume that if another team or their team signed Isak they would get the exact same player and he’d be as prolific The evidence says otherwise, for Dortmund, Sociedad and even currently on international duty for Sweden he’s used far more rigidly, more or less to accommodate for the other players and their strengths Isak for Newcastle is allowed in a single match to play as a target man, a false 9, a number 10 and he’s allowed to drift out to either wing, he’s allowed to do this because Newcastle have a hard working team where players sacrifice their own position and move to spaces left behind by others. Isak is also instructed to play with high press intensity at Newcastle which leads to more mistakes being made that fall directly to him or to team mates to supply him. Any Newcastle fan will also tell you he’s an instinctive finisher, the moment he has too long to think, he ends up trying to overthink things and tries something caught between two minds or overly elaborate People might say “ahh but he was younger at Dortmund and Sociedad” but the evidence is there when he goes away on international duty, at the age of 25 he's only managed 15 in 50 games, I think that’s around half his goal average for Newcastle and is in-line with his rate at Sociedad, he’s not even cracked the top 35 all time Swedish international goalscorers, Marcus Allbäck had a better return for Sweden and Gyokeres has the exact same amount of goals in half the games, he doesn’t play badly for Sweden he just doesn’t get used effectively Then you look at the club most frequently linked with him…Arsenal, ignoring the fact they insulted the guy in 2022 when they deemed him only being worth half Sociedad’s admin price, I don’t actually think he fits with how they can play For Isak to be most effective he’d needs to be getting into spaces and drifting into positions that would compromise other players, he’d want to be in the same spaces as Ødegaard (who he previously played with btw and was played more rigidly to accommodate ) he’d want to be drifting out wide and then would be impeding Saka or Martinelli or Trossard and do you think Arteta would have those players covering Isak drifting constantly? Newcastle have players like Anthony Gordon and Guimaraes who are happy to do the leg work to enable Isak Also Isak has literally said the way Newcastle play gets the best out of him and suits his game.
agree with a lot of that, he still has levels to reach and Eddie Howe is the perfect coach for him, strives every day to keep challenging him. Isak loves free flowing football, the clubs that play robotic football, wouldn't suit him.
Well it’s just not true though. For Sweden he does what he wants, it’s not rigid for him at all. He’s the main man. Kinda weird to include his time at Dortmund aswell considering he didn’t play for them lol… and it was his first move at 17 aswell.
The importance of players making selfless runs can't be understated as they create the massive spaces for the mentioned Aguero or Isak to move into and score from.
I think Isak's numbers will improve considerably in the national team in the years to come. For one thing, a new semi-golden generation of Swedish players are establishing themselves in the starting eleven, not just Isak and Gyokeres. And secondly the current manager has opted to play a much more positive football than Sweden is typically known for. So, sacrificing the strengths of players like Isak and Gyokeres for the sake of safety seems less likely as the new team matures. But sure, you have a point. And I can't see him going to Arsenal. However I do think that if and when he leaves Newcastle, it will be for a team that knows how to best use him. If he continues the rest of the season like this, I'd worry about the summer window if I was a Newcastle fan.
Pointing out the different attributes of strikers, and pointing out Haaland being an incredible box threat as his main one, and showing his 79 goals vs Salah’s 55 vs Isak’s 49 since Isak joined Newcastle, made me think even more about how it really irks me when people are criticizing Haaland for either just being a poacher or only being able to score so much because man city has such good players around him and so on. Like, people idolize and worship the “Dominance” of Shaquille O’neal in basketball, because he was an unstoppable force around the basket. but,,, only around the basket. no one could stop him around the basket, so why would he start trying to shoot 3’s just because some salty pundits or “fans” say hes just a dunk merchant? HES SCORING AND THE OPPONENTS CANT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT??!?!? you want him to start trying to shoot 3’s instead? or getting the ball at half court and dribbling past everyone? no. you have other people that are better at that, and no one in the entire league better than you at scoring near the basket. so, in a sport with even more specifically oriented positions because there are over twice the number of players, why would we want Haaland to do that stuff? People want him to turn into a playmaker or something,, like NO. he has scored more than anyone else every year since he joined the premier league,,, LET HIM KEEP DOING THAT. THERES A REASON HE MAKES IT LOOK SO EASY. THERES A REASON HE SCORES THOSE EASY TAP INS, AND THAT THEY LOOK EASY IN THE FIRST PLACE. of course the people around him allow him to score more easily, just like how Shaq needed better players around him too in order to get him the ball and also draw some defenders away so they could only double team him and not triple team him. leave the dude alone and just watch how great he is
Tall skillful black strikers who cut in from the left are always compared to Henry, same as Diminutive dribblers who are left footed and play on the right are usually likened to Messi (especially if south american)
So glad to have him play for us. Hope he can continue this form until the season ends.

loan? do they have 200 mil to buy him out?
@@normalperson8173it’s a joke, but they might do next season. (Have the money)
Isak's form is the direct result of Tonali playing at DM and Bruno playing RCM. Special mention to Jacob Murphy's purple patch.

As a Newcastle fan, I haven’t felt this way since shearer
Eddie Howe improves footballers. A Fact
This makes his transfer success rate like 95% only Matt Targett hasn't worked out.
@@jdogg448 Targett has not let Newcastle down. His main problem is injuries. Same as Callum Wilson.
One of the best players Iv'e ever seen in black and white

Isak is a great talent, but I don’t enjoy him playing against Liverpool.

Can we have a Tonali video Jimmy?

Zlatan once said once said, if you think im good you need to see Isak.
Said jokingly yes but the man rarely gives compliments for no reason
Swedish League / Players are highly underrated. Can still get gems for sub 5m
Can we get a tactics dive into David moyes at Everton?
True geordie deserves credit for pointing out the Henry comparisons early on
He wasn’t the first one lol, that comparison was made early.

Pliz do a video on ribiero
His got similarities with Cunha of wolves but plays deep in the box won't be surprised if he's linked with Barcelona or arsenal.
The perfect video, only to fall at the finishing line by plugging a video with Sham Allardyce.
He's not gonna come to Arsenal is he..
Whilst I wholeheartedly agree... We should stop making comparisons of players and let them just be themselves...
Is he injured?
Nah tight hamstring after a busy schedule been rested all week
@@NathanSweeneydo I need to take him out of my FPL this week? 😂

Isak is not yet the finished product. Given time to think, he often fluffs a simple chance. This is something Howe will work on.
