Kind of funny how TJOmega just reviewed her first appearance episode just yesterday and now EmGo reviews the figure. Nice accidental collaboration. I recently ordered a copy from showz and it just left China. Can’t wait to get her in hand.

If you rotate the whole lower body instead of the legs for transformation, you get a cleaner fit and there's peg and tabs that fit better. The screw hole on her back is also a peg hole
TransArt is really good now. I just got their version of Optimal Optimus and while it's likely using the same engineering as the original toy, they did modify it quite a bit. And, TransArt finally found focus with the Transmetal figures.
@@chromedragozoid I don't know much about TransArt's history. I got into TransArt, after seeing the TransArt BW Ravage. See Emgo's review of TransArt Black Agent.
The alt mode head is more like a camel spider head, which ad a Army Veteran who deployed to Iraq twice brings back some scary memories of my experience with those little devils (yes I mean devil, I truthfully think that the devil's head will look like a camel spider's head).
Probably Mascot feels the same way like Waspinator. 20:15 You two better run or Beast Wars Silverbolt get you two. Now Mascot proves in her Trans-Metal 2 form.
Ty soooo much Emgo I definitely plan on picking this one up to me she's more realistic than the original transmetal 2 version back in the late 90's I love her color scheme looks absolutely stunning
I hope they give you a replacement leg or figure cause you are best and the only reviewer i trust when it comes to transformers figure plus your skits at the end of the review sets you apart from the others
I ordered mine earlier this month and it arrived this Monday. It's a beautiful build, but I've two complaints, one somewhat annoying and one a bit smaller: the spider legs were hard as hell to pivot from the factory straight position [1]; second, maybe it's my inexperience, but it's hard to distinguish the die-cast metal parts from the majority plastic parts. Apart from the front of the feet, I can't even tell what other parts are die-cast metal. *Footnote* [1] I snapped the first one and had to super glue it back together. After that, I used a blower dryer on the joints for ~10 s before bending them.
Hey emgo you do the best reviews. I hope you are doing well. I especially when you say squarll and mind blown. You always make me laugh and be a collector. Thank you emgo.
Emgo, thank you so much in doing this video for the TransArt Transmetal 2 Black Spider. I greatly appreciate learning on how to handle her purple legs.
I used to have Transmetal 2 Blackarachnia years ago, but had to sell her to get money. I've wanted to get another one but ones in good condition are expensive. Maybe I'll look into getting one of these.
The tolerances on this are all over the place. There isn't a single joint that I didn't want to loosen or tighten. I tried using the screws to do that and they did nothing. I tried using water based polyurethane (Kiki) that usually works on everything to tighten up joints but it barely did anything here even after multiple applications. Surprisingly this also just happened to me with Action Toys Bike Robo DX that I finally just got as well. His hip joints going forward and back are horribly loose and even like six or seven applications of the tightening fluid barely did anything to tighten them up. So it was two figures in a row that I couldn't tighten joints on after it working on pretty much everything. I didn't break any of the spider legs as I was cautious from the start for some reason. But I didn't need to do any other tricks other than what you said to move them. Some people suggest the other methods of warm water or air to loosen them up but it's not needed. That and it's more to the effect that there's so much paint on the spider legs that they're just kind of gunked together a bit. Shame now that they're almost too loose from just moving them once though. That is the least powerful magnet I've ever seen. And for what? It doesn't even show anything under the chest plate. It's just so stupid. If it had been used as a homage to the original figure's inaccurate second purple chest plate going over the redish one then it would have been cool. But as it is, it's just annoying. I also wish that the backpack had an option to be used as the oversized shoulder pads the original toy had. But damn if it isn't a beautiful figure though. It just sucks as a transforming toy. I got this, Bingo Toys Windblade and Metagate "MP" Terrorsaur the same day. Three of the most beautiful figures I've seen but two of the worst "Transformers" I've seen too. However I might not be so down on the other two if the third figure wasn't that Terrorsaur. What an incredible piece of engineering. So smooth and intuitive. And surprisingly accurate in both modes. Simply amazing.
Dammit! I was extremely careful trying to bend the spider legs before attaching them onto the figure and one still managed to snap. The second I felt it give, I stopped trying to bend it but the damage is done.
First thing you do out of the package with the spider legs is HEAT THEM UP! Fair warning to everyone who buys this figure as the breakage has been running rampant.
Dang... TransArt is always so close to having a knockout figure, but they drop the ball right before the goal. Rattrap's brain and chest panel are not painted the right color. Maybe his backpack could have been a bit smaller. Ravage can't extend his arms straight forward without splaying out laterally (I want him to point both guns straight ahead). The orange tinge on Primals face is not accurate and quite ugly. And they didn't rework his chest mounted guns so it lines up with his eyes. Cheetor is near perfect except one of his foot joints is frozen in place... probably specific to my copy only. Blackarachnia doesn't have a wrist joint? C'mon now. There's no competition so I'm still buying them without a doubt lol. Still trying to get a Megatron.
There has been no response yet from TransArt, but they have a very good history of replacement parts and fixes for their releases, so it is likely they will offer replacements or possibly even a newer and stronger design?
I got the TransArt Rattrap, and it's phenomenal, so I had this one on preorder. I am disappoint. I am very disappoint. It looks amazing on the shelf, but too much of it feels flimsy. The elbow and thigh joints are too loose, and many other joints are SCARY tight, scary as in I'm afraid I'll break this 85 dollar toy if I'm not super duper uber careful with it, and not just the spider legs. Also the chestplate magnet is extremely weak, to the point I'm considering gluing it on like emgo is. Ugh, it's really flashy, but it's more of a figure than a transformer. I don't like the idea of paying 85 bucks for an action figure. I buy transformers to transform them.
This figure makes a fantastic statue, but a terrible toy to handle. The articulation is poor; most joints exist only for the simple transformation. The tolerances are mostly all too tight and fragile, or in the case of the double-jointed hips, far too loose. The paint and the sculpt are exceptionally good, but I imagine very few people will ever try to transform it after the first time, even if they were fortunate enough to not break something. Also, drop your spider legs in a cup of very hot (not boiling) water for about a minute or so once you get them, it'll help make the ball joint installation much easier, and adjusting the pinned leg joints much smoother. Abandon any hope on the included magnet holding the chest plate on, it's nearly useless.
disagree on some points as some of the things you mentioned can be a "your mileage may vary" situation. The hips on mine aren't loose. The articulation is mostly good, but with her small feet balance is imperative. I ended up trying some silicone lubricant of the tight shoulders and now they work beautifully so as in majority of cases tolerance issues can be easily rectified. I didn't have to boil anything cuz the legs popped on just fine. Yeah, that chest magnet is not good though lol. We all always seem to have different experiences with these things. It happens lol
I NEVER liked her spider mode because it doesn't look like a black widow spider. The Beast Machines Blackarachnia was PERFECT. let me know they get the Beast Machines masterpiece
It looks like might offer an upgrade kit for a 'vehicle mode' . Looks like there's a couple of spots on the rear of her alt mode to clip on a couple of wheels or something. I could be wrong though
0:06 me too mascot… me too.
Her transformation is pretty similar to the original Beast Wars release years ago. I kinda dig that! She's amazing looking. Gotta have this one. 👍

Anyone else notice that "Intelligence" (her highest stat) was misspelled on the character card?
Yep. I caught it immediately
Made by people who English is at best a second if not third language.
One way to look at this is that the misspelling is a way to identify if you're buying an authentic version, or a KO.
@@Kooster69've seen words misspelled on takara and hasbro products before. It's simply people utilising a language that isn't their primary one

I have a feeling the removable chest section is meant to recreate the original figure having two giant holes for the pegs.
I wish they would have made an extra removable toy accurate chest piece instead of making her _actual_ chest piece come off to reveal naughty bits.
