This lens is a steal for the price. However, and even if I'm note 100% sure because have not tested this new Sigma, I think the 24-70mm S Pro and 24-90mm SL have better rendering, with more 3D expression. It was obvious when I compared theses two lenses to the 24-70mm Sigma (essentially the same lens than the 24-70mm Leica). I have used a lot of Panasonic, Leica, Canon EF, Sony FE and Samsung NX lenses and I can say that very often, when sharpness increases and size decreases, some other characteristics like sense of volume or local contrast are lowered as well.
Holding off from buying another zoom seems to be paying off. This new 24-70 is a much better option than the original version, and the upcoming 24-105 f2.8 from Sigma might equal the Leica 24-90 in image quality. I'm not averse to a heavier zoom for work, so fingers crossed.
Hey Alex, I did not take your advice on the (24-70) Leica ASPH lens (from another review) and got the 24-90 Elmarit lens instead. LOL.. Although the 24-90 is a spectacular lens, its heavy and I'm considering returning it and waiting for this Sigma lens. (I'm afarid that due to it's size and weight, it may deter me from taking it with me. Any benefit to getting the Leica rebadged 24-70 vs this Sigma 24-70 II? Thanks.

I will try and do a comparison in the future. For the size and weight it’s hard to beat the Sigma.
@@ABarrera For the size and weight yes, and for the price too.
Great review! I've seen a few other videos from photographers but glad to have found a video from a gear reviewer.
Great video as always Alex. Can’t believe how good the price is considering the updates. Sigma really out did themselves
The value here is wild!

I'm wondering if this is better than the Panasonic 24-70 2.8 because the Panasonic did best the MI of the Sigma
Thanks Mr. Barrera for sharing, regards from Brasil.
Awesome review. I was looking forward to this lens. I own zero L lenses for me SL3 only DGDN primed so this will be a great addition.

There is no benefit going with the Leica branded 24-70. I would wait for the version ii since it’s better in every way.
@@ABarrera taking your advice this time. Appreciate your quick response
Don't go for SL 24-90; I guarantee you it will stay home for 99% of the time due to weight and bulkiness...
Sigma is the way to go
Bravo to Sigma again 👏🏻😁
I just discovered this TH-cam channel after searching for reviews on Sigmas 50mm f2 lens. Now sigma has done it again 😂
