This concerto has really grown on me over the years especially after watching the 1970 performance given by Aaron Rosand. My feeling is that it is certainly one of the most accessible classical repertoire pieces for mass audiences who have no knowledge of music (especially classical) but know a great piece of music when they hear it. And for those who are well versed in the repertoire, it appeals because it plays to the strengths of the instrument and lets the soloist stretch their legs and shows off everything that they can do - form the most lyrical and mysterious of passages (especially the harmonics at the end of the second movement) to the virtuosic outer movements.
The finale has one of the most infectious tunes in all violin literature. It's on the order of his Intro and Rondo. But from 10:31 it just feels to me hastily written in an attempt to just finish the concerto. I don't usually get that feeling from SS.
Are you talking about Saint-Saens? Because he was alive long after that- in fact he attended and critiqued the 1913 premiere of Stravinsky's "The Rite Of Spring".
One of my favorite violin concertos. Saint-saens is so underappreciated.
right!!! a lot of people don't know him, even throughout he's a great composer! I'm playing one of the pieces right now!
Rondo Capricioso: Am i a joke to you?
Pro tip : watch series at Kaldrostream. Me and my gf have been using them for watching all kinds of movies recently.

“In my opinion everything by Saint-Saëns is a masterpiece” once a time an incredible violinist said that... if you know you know :)
I love turning up my earphones at 8:56 and drowning in the orchestra's fanfare... It's like the gates of heaven are opening to my ears 😵
Try Mahler symphony 2 mov 5 if you love the opening of the gate of heaven, it's in the first part of the mov 5
@@rossini9mozart10 Or symphony 4 movement III
listen to the orchestra part in Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto 1st mvt. its majestic
I'm so glad that I play Violin and watch TwoSet
Me too!

Me too bro
so perfect, exquisite and enchanting melody
saint saens is definitely my favorite composer
Love this movement. I will say TH-cam's algorithm for inserting ads 20 seconds before the end of the movement though kind of kills the build up.
I play this song on my accordion and it is a beast!
This piece is a violin concerto wtf 😂

I don't know who you think you are, but you're wrong.
I agree with you. The end seems very contrasting to the rest of the concerto
Really?I don’t really feel it
love this recording :)

epic
long dead, man. Dead 1881, in fact. You really think a recording that old would sound like this?
Are you talking about Saint-Saens? Because he was alive long after that- in fact he attended and critiqued the 1913 premiere of Stravinsky's "The Rite Of Spring".
what was the comment...
Cho-Liang Lin ?
