Well said. I went through Prime for my cdl. I couldn't agree with you more. Treat the whole process as a job interview. Be prepared, professional, clean. You will skate right through the process.
Honestly all those rules only apply to big carriers!! You can have a DUI or be an Convict & still get a trucking job. The industry trying soooo hard to stop people coming in & making success. Now they going route of hair follicles. It changes every year
That’s my issue, I haven’t worked for several months because I was taking care of my sick dad. He died last February. I’m wanting to go to school but seen all these videos of trucking schools just kicking you out if something goes wrong. That’s scary honestly. They honestly should 100 💯 check everything before you head that way. Just my opinion.
Hey bags. I have a question. I talked with recruiting about my job history but they weren’t very helpful with information. I didn’t have my first job until I was 19. I did have to leave a 2 jobs early due to school. Not sure if they will let you explain before they decline. but I have kept jobs more than 4 months. Everything else I’m good on. Had my license for at least a year but for 4. so I should be fine come September 1st.
Does Prime verify your MVR before your application is approved? I was approved, passed my DOT Physical and Drug Screen, got my CDL permit. But I have a couple rough spots on my MVR. Is it possible that I get all the way to Orientation and then get rejected? Or is the MVR already reviewed before they invite you?

I'm a diabetic but I take my meds. Never had a issue. Why would they reject me if my sugar levels is normal & a statement showing its ok for me to drive?
They wont reject u, they will just make u get a physical more often and make sure ur keeping up with ur endo appts. My brother is a type 1 insulin dependent, and we both drive for prime

I do have a question about the permit test requirement, if they send you to their terminal in Pittston, PA are you still required to take the test there or have your permit in your home state?
You're looking in shape. I am starting my CDL training this coming Monday with CDS Tractor Trailer to get trained on a manual. Already submitted application and was told it looked great and to let them know 3 weeks prior to a requested report date.

June 22 2021- what is Primes "Pet Policy" during this training period? I know that sounds odd but it's just me and my little 09# deer head Chihuahua, Gunner, now. I most certainly can't afford to board him until I can send for him and I don't have "family" that I could leave him with so? any information would be helpful. He's not "certified" but he's been a tremendous emotional support for me. any suggestions?

CrazyBags I know plenty about prime, but that was back when they was a great company, then overnight and I mean that literally they went full blown CDL INDOCTRINATED ERA. 😂
Prime is self insured. That means they don't pay geico a monthly check. If something happens they pay directly out of pocket. They would like to be as safe as possible especially since they are training. My first truck while I was driving on my permit was set to 55. Once I had my CDL and was a B seat the truck was set to 65.
