      I use a 6 gallon water jug under the counter with a marine water foot pump, which works great inside my tiny house in Montana. Great video the cabinet came out awesome.
      I just started posting videos myself .

    A camping hack I use at home for quick dishwashing is: A spray bottle with dish soap/water -- I wet my sponge and spray the dish and easily clean it, you can also use a spray bottle with your hot water to rinse. I use an empty glass vinegar bottle with a sprayer from a used bottle. It is ever so handy - can use to clean my stove top also. Loved the video - always look forward to watching your projects.

    Great job on a genius and beautiful sink/stove build! Love that you share the mistakes as well as the fixes! An idea on doing dishes-maybe clean the largest item first (your pan), then use IT as a vessel to hold the soapy water, wash all the items and set them in the sink, then rinse all (including the pan) at one time in the sink.

    I'd recommend a rubber stopper for the sink (you really can't go wrong with those). For rinsing it might be good to use one of those plastic rinse bottles with the narrow tip like they use to irrigate wounds or rinse beakers down. It's simple, portable, and wouldn't use tons of water.

    Use a plastic container to hold the soap water that is about 1/3 the size of the sink. Use your cloth to clean the dishes with the soapy water. Then, rinse on the 2/3 side of the sink where the drain is. I do this even in my home sink. Loved the video!

    Love watching the progress on your little getaway cabin and the efficient kitchenette is a great idea. I grew up camping the old style way, canvas cabin tent, sleeping bags on the ground and outhouses. It was uncommon to have electricity at the campsite. My mother would carry two plastic tubs for dishwashing, one fit inside the other. She used one for washing the other for rinse. If you use a bio-friendly soap, the water can be tossed into the shrubbery. Even when I eventually got a popup camper with a sink, I preferred to wash dishes in the same manner outside rather than inside. Simple but effective.

    What a great addition to your cabin. Living simply doesn't always mean you have to go without a few creature comforts. As for rinsing off the dishes, I have a half gallon pump up spray bottle that I purchased from a garden store, it has an adjustage nozzle that can be turned down to a fine mist spray, and I find this absolutely perfect for washing off the soapy suds without using lots of water.

    Awesome idea Ryan👍🏻👍🏻. Thanks for sharing with us. I like the little plastic totes for washing and rinsing. It depends on where I am, i will use one of the little pump spray bottles for rinsing, and space saver. I have one of the collapsible dish drainers, and plan to get a collapsible dish pan to save space. Love and Appreciate what you are doing. Stay safe and warm. God Bless Y'all. Nice work. At our off grid cabin we have what's called a hot pot with a sticker for hot ware over the sink. It holds around 5 gallons and we heat it with the wood stove or the stove top. Works well because it's stainless steel .good luck .enjoying your videos.

    I live off grid in a 10 by 20 shed Amish building and I use a weed sprayer to rinse my dishes.. it's just a 1 gallon from harbor freight that I adapted the hose on to take a kitchen sprayer rinse nozzle on it..
    Your pump up the pressure and it's great for rinsing and for taking off-grid showers although I do have a 4 gallon that I use for taking showers.. I just keep the one gallon sprayer in the bucket underneath my sink when not in use because I always empty my bucket underneath the sink after I do dishes I don't want any of those nasty smells

    The sink in the drawer is definitely a neat idea, however I think I would have installed the sink like normal and then built a cover or filler to create more counter space. Then you could have a facuet with a foot pump to make washing dishes and other things easier.

    • @blackspruce1861
      @blackspruce1861  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      yeah it would be easier that way but I will probably figure something out that will work

    Electrician here. If you still wanted to use that receptacle, you probably could use a power strip; just place it on the outside of the cabinet and drill a big enough hole so the cord can go inside. Given what I've seen you do so far, I know you have the skill to wire the cord direct, that is if you want to keep that receptacle closed off. Just make sure you have a blank cover with a drilled opening just big enough for the cord to fit through (or have a black plastic connecter punched through the hole to seal the opening a bit more). It's a bit Jerry-rigged, but it's still safe. If you're worried about water from the bucket, you can further shield the back of the cabinet with a cheap plastic sheet against the wall or a foam mat. Just something to think about if you really need that receptacle.
