My knees are beginning to give me trouble , my arthritis is beginning to get worse but I must struggle on for a few more years before I’m ready to go to Thailand . Your story really inspires me so I really respect you . Good luck mate ❤
Arthritis isn’t a problem if you exercise regularly. I’ve had 4 operations on my knees due to sports, when I saw a scan of my knee which was mostly white, the surgeon told me the white is arthritis, I replied it gives me no pain, he said @wait until you stop exercising” 😩🤷♂️ I’m now 70 and exercise 2/4 hours 6 days per week and that’s sports against 18-65 players.
It is true that exercise reduces joint pains. I have 2 x collapsed spinal discs which is why I have to take Pregabalin (it stops bone-on-bone pain). If I overdo things and hurt myself (like I did when I took the microlight flight) lying in bed is probably the worst thing I can do because the pain gets worse as the joints seize up. A week of intense therapy from a little old lady who slides my sciatic nerve back into its proper place and I'm fine again now. Cost in the UK - £520. Cost in Thailand - £24.
@ I had severe sciatic pain a couple of years ago and saw a chiropractor which did no good except line his pockets , going to the gym helped me a lot and massages . Now I am working nightshifts and not exercising and my knees are constantly in pain .
Tony i wish i were going with you buddy, there is nothing left here, I'm in the same boat as you with the nhs, but i don't have the funds to up sticks, all i can say is you have done the right thing, no looking back, you will find a new you in paradise, and I'm looking forward to your tour round the country, I'm hoping to get a holiday next year and myself and other half have spoken about Thailand so who knows if i see you, i will defiantly buy you a drink x
I do feel sorry for the people who are trapped in the system mate. When I had my first medical massage, it didn't seem to do anything but cause extra pain but the morning after, I got up, walked around and then I remembered that the day before, I had a bad limp. Don't get me wrong, it still hurt but the pain had subsided by at least 50%. A few days later, I went for another massage and the same thing happened..... on it went until the pain had gone completely. I hurt it when I did the microlight thing - that was a month ago and I've only just got rid of the pain again. I'm alright if I don't push it but even if I do, I know there's a slow cure for it. Chin up buddy, every dog has its day and yes, come over here and stop at this resort, I'll show you and the Mrs the ropes ;)
I first travelled to Thailand back in 2009 and initially spent a few years there, then I did Mexico & Central America. Be smart be safe & learn the rules of the game. Your own health is most important. Consider quitting sugar & alcohol. Understand that females do not bring happiness into a man's life. Purpose and improvement are the fuel for men. Good luck. The Carnivore diet will massively reduce your inflammation. I would look into it. I am on day 501 and lost a huge amount of weight and improved my health. 52-year-old man here from the UK.
Cheers mate and yes, I agree with everything. The female thing is just one part of the problems in life. I've lived here for over 9 months now and I've never looked back and I'll never go back either. I'm pretty much doing the carnivore diet anyway apart from the occasional rice bowl.
You are lucky to still have your parents, I lost mine when I was 19 and then 33. I only have one slightly crazy older sister I can never rely on for anything, and I am now recently separated. You have more than you think.
You have my sympathy mate. It's not an easy life for anyone and especially when you don't have parents to bounce things off (not that I can anymore because they worry enough about me as it is).
I had an accident mate. I fell and hurt my back which caused compression of 2 discs and (due to having no treatment) it never healed properly. I completely lost the use of my right leg for 2 months when it happened and I had to learn to walk again. As a result of having no treatment (due to the NHS being so slow and then we had covid) my sciatic nerve has become elongated. Imagine an elastic band that's been stretched over time and then, you let go of it.... that's my sciatic nerve. It bulges out into my lower back and it feels like a golf ball sized lump. I've been living in Thailand for nearly 9 months now and my back is fine (most of the time). A little old massage lady pushes everything back into it's proper place and now, I live a pain free life. The NHS refused to even acknowledge that I had a lump in my back but instead, they preferred to keep giving me "exploratory CT guided injections" into my spine which are excruciatingly painful but they did nothing.
Yeah yeah, I've heard it all before. In the 9 months I've been living here (which is much longer than you anticipated) no one has taken advantage of me. Are you still jealous?
Over the course of your working life you must have paid a massive amount of tax….and now you have to go to Thailand to get your back fixed. The British government is only there to shaft you mate!
Tony, you was definitely struggling in this one pal but Mum and Dad were on side which was great 👍
I still remember the pain towards the end mate. If I didn't have a bright future ahead of me, the black dog would definitely be paying me a visit.
