    That green Ford looks like a classic, leaning toward antique! But those older trucks sure could move water!

    I love the green Ford. I can't believe it still pumped water. Good job guys. Not much you can do at this point of the fire.

    • @ffjsb
      @ffjsb 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It pumps, but it's probably not putting out much more than 500 gpm or so. If you're using 2 1/2" lines for supply lines, you've got water supply issues.

      @@kennethsrensen7706 There's ZERO point in upgrading a pump in that engine. You'd have to upgrade the engine and entire drive train. That chassis isn't big enough either.

      @@ffjsb Yeah I guess you are right about that model of engine.
      So its nice to see it still have some use.
      at least it can supplly some small hoselines
      ( not those more powerfull ) so even if its
      just smaller it all sum up in the overall work.
      a few handlines can do something even if not as high preasure as in the newer ones.
      So still its extra water even not high preasure. : )

    It's like a game of chicken. Who's going to chicken out first and put water on the fire. It's the same in almost every US firefighting video. Trucks roll and then spend ten minute knitting a sweater with the hoses before someone thinks maybe we should put water on the fire! Very frustrating to those of us who took pride in getting the wet stuff on the hot stuff within seconds of arriving! Shocking appliance positioning. It's like Fred Karno's Circusl

    Sorry fellows but must give thumbs up on putting fire out but two down on tactics. First is ladder to close to fire, with a limited supply why use as a elevated master stream. You know that aerial can suck you tank empty within a minute. The building is done for and 3 men on the ladder. Cut your hand lines back to minimum water and surround and drown. Ive responded in a red truck like green with 500 gallons to the county using a booster reel two with of them. Im pretty sure a paint job was needed.

    umm why bother with the ladder ? By the time you guys got done running around like lost puppies the fire was darn near out. Hose lines deployment training needed, fire suppression training is needed. Sure the fire is out, but coulda been done with half the manpower and half the time with proper equipment placement. Fire fighting isn't call all cars. Simple building like that gimme one engine and one ladder or tower truck and lemme kick the pig

    I like the smokey bear on the green ford. They look like they were over the river/brook Why wasn't one enigne set up on the other side for drafting creating a frie line. The Ladder truck could have not been in a worse spot. Pulled past or before then extend for safety. If it can pump you probably couldn't touch the handles.

      @@isaiahhart4283 I agree, don't call someone who is trying to do the right thing a "clown." However, I do have a problem with it being acceptable to hold volunteers to a lesser standard of performance because they are, after all, "only volunteers." Granted, volunteer fire departments have a lot of problems ranging from money to manpower, that are legitimate factors beyond the control of a volunteer fire department that do affect the level of service they can provide. But the fact the are "only volunteers" is never an acceptable excuse for failing to competently provide the level of service they are capable of providing. Capability is the level of service that can be provided with the resources available. Competence is the level of expertise demonstrated in the use of the resources available. Speaking as a thirty year plus firefighter / EMT in a volunteer department, I see way too many examples only being volunteers is used as an excuse for poor leadership and training. You've what I'm talking about. Brand new rigs with price tags approaching a million dollars or more pulling up on the scene with full crews (sometimes 6 or more), and not a single one including the officer prepared to fight fire when they step of the rig; taking more than five minutes to get water flowing. And having way too many chiefs standing around conferring with seemingly no one in charge. Volunteers could and should be expected to be as professional as a career firefighter and should expect nothing accept nothing less from; themselves, their peers, their leaders and the public. Earn the credit you deserve for being a volunteer, don't simply expect it.
