Confession is speaking the truth to God and others, repenting is hearing Gods truth and being transformed by it. Sin is separating from God, repentance is being reconciled to God or being returned to right relationship with the God who adores you. “Shame as the warning” is a wonderful perspective. Our society believes feeling shame is toxic, when in fact the opposite.
