the main problem with the winning stalingrad (even more if that lead to a soviet surrender) is that from there you cannot really predict how the war goes several years later. yes, mushroom country is one option, but many other also would be an option.
Winning Stalingrad itself doesn't mean anything without more context? Does operation Uranus not kick off, does it mean Russia somehow lost the forces of operation Uranus? Is German army somehow able to hold, build up and exploit the Georgian oil fields? Can they secure push further into Russia to secure oil logistics? It is just like how Japan didn't solved all their issues by conquering one of the world biggest oil exporters, at a certain moment being as desperate to actually use unrefined oil as fuel in their capital ships.

Most notably it never actually did happen. As far as 3'th century, Rome already become multi-ethnic state, who move they capital outside the Rome and change language and culture on Greek. What lead to dissolution of state, where Latinized Provinces basically go own way, mutually not recognizing Byzantium who did not recognize them (what later was conquered by Turks, as only part what actually did fall). After several attempts to reunite and separations in massive conflicts. Finally reunited diplomatically under Roman Statute. And no one did noticed...
