Colour the Slopes Summit 2.0

Colour the Trails has been creating events and programming for Black, Indigenous and Racialized People to participate in winter activities for some time. And we wanted to create a special place where folks could spend more time together, connect, try things, learn, progress. This is how an idea of a multi-day Summit came up.
In 2022 we hosted the first Colour the Slopes Summit with 70 Black, Indigenous and Racialized folks and allies took over the hills of Revelstoke. So many friendships were created, that we were bombarded with questions about next one.
In December 2023 we hosted Colour the Slopes Summit 2.0! During day 1 folks were arriving to the city. In the evening we had a social hangout and short film screening. During day 2 everyone had a day of winter activities - snowshoeing, dogsledding, snowmobiling, and backcountry touring. After the day on the hills, participants and locals came together to listen to our top-notch line up of speakers. We saw so much reciprocity and unity during this beautiful evening. During day 3 everyone had time on the mountain either taking lessons skiing/snowboarding, or exploring the slopes of Revelstoke Resort at their own pace.
And at night we had a gala dinner. Let us say we looked lit and set the dance floor on fire!

And once again, as we were packing bags to go back home, folks were already asking when will we host the Summit 3.0 :)
