I wrap my ribbon around playing cards, place the cards in 9 pocket trading card sleeves, and put the sleeves into binders. I have hundreds of ribbons that used to take up too much space now contained and easily accessible in two binders that can be tucked away on a shelf. I have a small craft space so this is necessary.
Great idea! You can actually recycle all of those ribbon spools, too. I cover them with decorative cardstock on both sides, and make Christmas ornaments. They are perfect, and they turn out so cute, because you can use any embellishments that you want. It's a great way to use up whatever you already have! As always, thanks for sharing! Hugs 💕 ~Suzy~

I have been looking for a good way to store my ribbon and this is the best! I have very very limited space and I tried putting the spools on a rope and hanging it on the wall. But every time I needed a certain ribbon and you know Murphy's Law-it was always the one in the middle! I can't wait to do this now! Thx for sharing!
This is a great idea. I did this to my fabrics and laces, but I used Comic book boards because they are acid free and won't stain as cardboard can. (You buy them in bundles like cardstock. Found them cheaper at an actual comic book store than online.) I' m running out of room for my crafting ribbons, so this is a great solution. Again, I have plenty of comic book boards left that I can cut down to work.
Awesome idea. I do similar but I cut up old boxes from shipping or food products. It really does make things so much easier. I have a lot of my ribbons on a shoe rack currently and really need to convert them all over like you have. I also do the same with my laces and other trims. Saves so much space. TYFS Deanna

Great idea! I've been thinking about doing this to all my ribbon. I store some of the thin and smaller spools wrapped on popsicle sticks in a clear container, the rest are on a little ribbon holder and a napkin holder. I like the visual colors so I don't know that I would do it to all...tgough I don't have as many as you 😊 Thank you for sharing your ideas as always 💕💕

RobynLovesPedro Silva I make Christmas ornaments with my empty ribbon spools. Cover them with cardstock or paper, embellish them, and hang with bakers twine. They are pretty cute! It was a video done by Gift Basket Appeal....🙂
I store my ribbon in a similar way. I put a "slit" at the top of my card ones. I hook the ribbon in, I cut from the top then pop the end back in the slit. Have to say mine on the rolls stay much tidier for me. Why do we all buy so much STUFF!! 😀 Ribbon is another "addiction" of mine. Patricia x
I've got to say this is a great space saver! I did something like this except I punched a hole at the top of my cards then added a binder ring to keep similar colors or seasons all together on one ring. The deal breaker for me and the only reason I decided not to store my ribbon like this anymore, was the fact that all of my ribbons had been creased from being wrapped like that since the edges of the cards are not rounded if that makes any sense. Anyways I seem to be rambling on but TFS still a great vid!

I blame you. I had a cuttarpiller trimmer. Didn't like it so much. So I watched your trimmer unboxing video and well I bought one. Sold the cuttarpiller. Now I need to do the same thing with the ribbon!
Nice but alot of work. Ever thought of using empty aluminum foil rolls n making a base for it to stand? Tfs or buy a stand up paper towel stand. That way they can stay on the rolls

I bought clear freezer trays from Christmas Tree Shop. I put all my laces on chipboard spools and store them that way.
