Love Frances Chan but I thought we are only to pray directly to God not Jesus ? I do pray to God and thank him for sending Jesus and for the forgiveness of sin.

The normal format in prayer is... to God through Christ, but there are examples of praying to Christ: As Stephen is being killed in the book of Acts, he prays, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit” (Acts 7:59). The next to the last verse in the Bible is a prayer to Jesus: “Amen. Come, Lord Jesus” (Rev 22:20). The apostle Paul himself prayed to “the Lord” (see 2 Cor 12:8, a title Paul frequently applied to Jesus).
