At the 2020 MOT, maybe the clocks were accidentally reading km? 28,466km would be 17,688 miles which would fit in perfectly?

Its possible that the trip computer was read by mistake, thats not uncommon when they are left to run into high numbers.
I do always feel sceptical about 'car enthusiasts' with a youtube channel that dont see a cracked windscreen, or investigate a strange noise. Cant be that enthusiastic about cars if these issues went unnoticed or unattended to.
Some people are big into cars as in just driving them, not everyone is mechanically minded, or wants to get dirty and involved that way with cars.

What an absolute nail
I had a 16 plate Golf gti mk7 and it had what I thought was wheel bearing noise at the back. It turned out to be the inner edge of the tyres wearing unevenly, known as sawtooth, that made the noise.
I also had this on a Mini Cooper s and it made a hell of a noise just like bearing

Hi calv Iv recently bought a car I used car vertical to do the checks and it says it has mileage issues from looking at the graph the seller said it’s a typo on the mot and has service paperwork ect to back it up.
The mileage was so far wrong I decided to trust them and purchase it as there’s no way it could be so wrong after looking at the car.
Seat have Allways serviced it how would I go about contacting NMR to clear the hpi
8:33 don’t be too sure of that I brought an 08 Astra Sri full Vauxhall service history £600 with 167k on clock and it was immaculate inside and out looked like it had done 10k were others I’ve seen on 80k were destroyed inside

Race car sequential boxes (the origin of these systems in domestic cars) are pull for up and push for down. When you are accelerating hard it’s easier to pull than push and vice-versa when you’re on the brakes downshifting
@@ChrisBeevor0511 I don’t doubt any of that. I only ever drive manual so makes no odds to me. I do recall sequentials being that way tho, so yeah makes sense. Driven a couple of auto beemers and always takes me a couple of roads before I start shifting the right way 🤦🏻♂️😂 as I said tho, it’s just me personally.

@@Roadwarrior92 surprisingly not in wet it will spin but when dry or only slightly damp it will put the power down it’s no 0-60 car but brilliant from 40 on and surprises lot of bigger hot hatches ect as power to weight and when moving it goes
Any possibility that the owner had the car displaying KM's for the first two years? This happened with a car i owned and i had service receipts to prove it, i emailed VOSA with the evidence and they altered the MOT history for me.

Don't you find it geared too high? I drove one and it felt like it didnt want to rev high and the gearing was off.
@@ScottPC funny you mention that I drove to football on the weekend and had a moan at my mrs that the gearing was off , it was hanging onto 2nd and 3rd too long , I was driving down a hill and it was staying in 2nd and whining lol

@@JordzyBrev just like, for example, BMW say the ZF8 is sealed for life. Yet ZF say it should be serviced between 40-60k miles depending on how the vehicle is used and driven. No oil last for ever. It’s marketing wank that manufactures use to make cars more appealing due to the prospect of less maintenance costs.
I wouldn't trust this guy at all. So many different stories and problems with the car. Bet the service history on this car is horrendous after doing 40k in a year. All these young boys getting golf gti/s3/golf r whilst they still stay with mummy.

@JordzyBrev But that does not change the fact that VW sold him a vehicle with a mileage discrepancy. He still retains his consumer rights. Dealers cannot withhold information that may affect the buyers decision to buy. They should have either corrected the mileage before sale, or informed him of the mileage discrepancy.
Your friend's case is different because that is to do with the warranty. Mods can and do affect the parts covered under warranty. Buy a car from a dealer, remap it, and engine goes pop 2 weeks later - they're well within their rights to tell you to F off.
These kids spend silly money on mods but done keep the car well maintained
I got a quote for my bmw E38 £1400 fully comp ,So i insured a cors £569 ,then 5 weeks laiter i rang them back and said change off car to Bmw E38 ,the girl said thatl be an extra £131 its bigger ,So i went ahead and paid the £131 .so in total it cost mee £700 for the bmw .

Google the vin. If it's been to an auction then they get the pics and report.
Done through the national insurance database I’m pretty sure. If it’s done through your insurance then it’s flagged and they’ll also have the invoice for the repair bill from either their crash repair centre and it all gets marked down as to what was replaced. If say you repaired it yourself or something like that then it won’t show on that sort of site/app. Im fairly sure that’s how they work.
They inspect the car when you arrive. Its quite easy with the naked eye to see if a cars had some paint work done.

I wouldn’t touch that car with a barge-pole. He definitely lies to his insurance companies when he’s ticking the box - Has this car had any modifications! Don’t do this kids because as soon as you make any claim, the insurance company will look into it and you’ll have no insurance at all as it’ll be voided and you won’t get a penny.
