Dude, I really enjoyed this 2-parter. I've spent a ridiculous amount of time drinking/smoking and playing this and I still learned 2 tricks I never knew before (even with internet searching) and I was 8 when this game came out. Keep up the awesome work my friend.

In the japanish version of Super mario bros 3 there are 4 flutes. The 4th is in World 5 level 1 but in the Usa version they replaced the flute with a music box. I don't know why they did that but the secret is still something with music xD
There's also just a little fun thing. If you beat any World with the Frog and orTanoki Suit The King says, "Thank you Kind Frog and or Raccoon. Please tell me your name." And if you do it with the Hammer Bros. suit he says, "Hey you! Can I borrow your clothes? No dice? What a drag.

FYI - A P-wing is not "needed" for the world 5 music box. 1 tactic is to stand in font of th first chain-chomp until he breaks free, then use that area to build speed. For the pros, they can build speed while the chain-chomp is left in place, careful to net getting hit.
Something else worth mentioning: In any level where you can get a Tanooki Suit from a block, like in 5-5, if you have a P-Wing on when you collect the suit, you'll still have the P-Wing effect on your Tanooki Suit for the rest of the level.
another way to do 5-1 is to take an invincible and a mushroom into the level. Kill the chain chomp and then destroy the bricks so you have space to run. Then when you get up, you have to duck as you fly, which takes practice. Also, you forgot about 6-7. Get all the coins in that level to get an Anchor. The catch is, you need to make it to the end with fireballs. There is also an invisible coin box at the end as well to the right of the pack of frozen coins.
Wow!!!! The one secret I never knew was that if you have a tandoori suit and find a room with another one, if Mario changes into a statue while accessing it, he will then turn into a cemented hammer brother!!!! Wow!!!
haha the tanooki statue glitch is awesome XD... I knew of some of these secrets, but considering I never go for the coins, some were a surprise. Very nice video, but I'm surprised theres no secrets in world 8. I'm positive I once had a white mushroom house appear in one of the regular levels there... but dont hold me to that though :D
the first secret can be gotten with only a leaf as powerup. you have to get rid of the chomp to the right and destroy the blocks. you can take back the star in the later part by using those single coin-blocks. or use a star when entering ;)
@yoyoguylol The hammer can break rocks on the world map. Those rocks typically hold pipes or items behind them. The music box.... I think puts the hammer brothers (or other map enemies) to sleep to prevent them from moving around.
about the world 7-8 near the pipe of the hammer bros (the first one ) you can fly and access to one pink cube and get to the sky to get coins if i dont have bad memory. try to search near
Cool videos!! I beilive and sorry if Im wrong, but when you use the Goomba shoe you can transform in the statue while being in the shoe and become invinsible for the rest of the level.
One thing. On the treasure ship (the one you transform a hammer brother into) there is a hidden 1-Up Mushroom. It is at the end, an invisible block between the 1st and second porthole left of the exit pipe.
The goomba shoe can also be obtained on one of the fortress levels. maybe its the spiral tower that leads to the cloud world. I don't remember which, but goomba shoe goomas attack you in one of those outside segments where the breakable blocks form like castle ramparts. its kinda tricky cause you have to break down some blocks to get under it but stealing the boot IS possible.
I don't think so... *_*THE*_* only other stages in which the Goomba Shoe/Kuribo's Shoe is found in Super Mario Bros. 3 (other than in World 5-3) is in a couple of stages in the "Lost Levels" - to which, although they are not in the Super Mario Bros. 3 video game *_proper_* (as they are not accessed via conventional means), they are in the _actual_ Super Mario Bros. 3 ROM *_itself_* (and thus can still be accessed by ROM Hacking or via certain Game Genie codes!).

i had a secret book when i was young. it tells me everything including all secrets, or even a correct pair card game. i lost that book so this clip reminds me good memories.
All of these are so common in the game that it's just not worth it to call them secrets. At least the first two whistles and probably the anchor and P-Wings are acceptable. The coin ship and matching card game tend to randomly appeared most of the times that you don't need to learn tricks to make them appeared.
I sent you a message already but if you use the P-wing in 6-1 (if I'm not mistaken), you can reach a door that takes you to a room with some blocks and a P switch, turning them into coins.

That's odd that the Pipes lock up when you get the Hammer Suit as the Statue. Lol, I guess the game doesn't want any of the enemies to know about that glitch?
first nice video i remember doing most of these back in the day,but once i in world 1 on the start block i pressed the button to enter stage, and it statrted a level, it was one of those scrolling levels where if you dont hurry the screen will kill you. i was so surprised by it, that i died within 30 seconds of starting it. id try to go back in but never could, i remember one weekend i spent all day and night trying to get back in there. so my question to you is have you ever seen this lvl?
on the last boss there is this one glitch where you fly to the spot while ducked, then you stand up, and mario slides sideways and clips through a wall, are you aware of that one? Found it out on my own when I was little, and forgot exactly what it does...

The anchor can be used to keep the Koopa Kid's ship from moving around the map (if you happen to lose). It's not very useful, IMO.
what about the secret about how to always get a star at the end of each level if you run at max speed and hit the left corner

You've missed the hidden 1-up in 10.19. It is located if you stand between the two first round windows and jump.
On the coin ship, there is a hidden extra life between the two window holes before you go down the pipe.

theres a 1-up in the middle of that music note bridge and right before the exit pipe on coinship
2:14 He got lucky as hell threading the needle and avoiding the mini Goombas cuz otherwise he dies in that pit with the decimated jumping ability.

Voan Siam those "random times" are when u accidentally spawn them by imputting the correct multiples.
