I can't wait to hear that speaker after you add those two high end tweeters😮...they are my favorite as is yours too👍🏼...I want to buy them when you finish😜
I absolutely adore my Ditton 44 mk1, but I took them for a service and the midrange on one hasn't been the same since..🙄.. I've read that the midrange is the weakest part of the 44, can anyone recommend a good replacement?
It is a weak point as are the tweeters. Crossover components are often the cause of failure. Especially on the tweeters. The only replacement for the midrange is the same unfortunately. Probably the most important driver in the 44
I really like your natural style of presentation. I was not aware of these speakers and now I am intrigued to hear them! How would they compare with a more modern B&W 602 S3 (I assume more detail in lower frequencies - perhaps not as articulate in brass sounding instruments - or maybe better?)
brilliant idea looking forward to the end result
Great project idea, looking forward to it as I've had several 44s and BC1s.

Thanks Brian. If you were in the UK that would be an option assuming I sell them 😅
Sounds like a great idea to add your version of the XR factor into these Matthew.
It’s 100% Celestion HF2000 grille on LS3/5A.
Good luck with this one mate, looks like a really interesting project.
But they look different.?
You keep up your great work you have a great channel.
Sad news on the client stuff, a valuable service. Anyway, onwards and upwards👍

To add to this what did they service? Did the replace crossover parts? Maybe something isn't correct connected? Did they do full measurements on them?
What do you think of the Ditton 66 Matt?
I like them. Had many pairs here. I wouldn't own a pair though. There fun to listen to for a while but a bit imposing to keep

Thanks for watching. Never heard that model of B&W. In all honesty I'm not a fan of the B&W sound. Sorry I can't help
