I definitely love my Lucky Cat Megazord. The weapon customization really allows for for a style you like to have it in. Not only that, they were able to figure out a cube mode for their gimmick. I just love everything about it. The look. The details. The quality of materials. The articulation. The accessories. They really knocked it out of the park. If Lucky Cat were to continue down this route with the Dragonzord, Titanus, as well as other iterations of Zords (i.e. Turbo, Shonen, Ninja, Falcon, Tiger, Thunder, Zeo) I think they would knock them out of the park. I know it sounds like I'm hyping them up, but after getting this set and the Devastator one, they earned my seal of approval and I will definitely buy anything else they put out.
Lucky Cat seems to have proven the Megazord was incomplete and no one realized until now. Mastodon's head being on the arm, additional weaponry on the individual zords, Pterodactyl itself being a full contribution to the Megazord granting it wings and a tail with the OG zord being a part of it. This is the natural progression the series was a few years early for and I'm so glad to see it.
Yeah. I'm a writer planning on doing my own Power Rangers fanfiction and this megazord is what I envision in it. Now I just need to see if Happy Cat made their own version of the Mega Dragonzord.
I hate to sound harsh, but there are so many ways the Lucky Cat Megazord just completely outshines the other two. Not only is the original toy's functionality completely intact, they thew in a bunch of extra weapons and a major upgrade to the Pterodactyl zord. The other two obviously cut corners to deliver a cheaper product, and that's exactly what you get.
That's not harsh at all. It's true. The Hasbro model has the defense of being almost 30 years old, though it does have a little bit better proportions where tyrano and pterro connect at the chest in my opinion. But Lucky Cat has everything else beat.
Most of these are collection items and they go for huge amounts of money. And those were made from the 1985 power rangers show that everyone watched back in the day. And if you are one of the many people who own these once a ranger always a ranger.
I wish that Lucky Cat launched a Dragonzord, I got the SMP Dragonzord and while it kinda combines with the Lucky Cat into the MegaDragonZord, the SMP Dragonzord has some serious engineering issues where the peg of the knees is too tight, so moving it causes a lot of stress that leads to breaking up with the peg stuck in the hole of the leg. I wish I knew this beforehand so I could sand it a bit. Having a specifically made Dragonzord that could correctly combine with this version both for the Dragonzord warrior mode as the MegaDragonZord, having no such QC issues, having the correct pegs, coming with the extras that Lucky Cat figure tend to come like this Megazord or their Voltron that allows for different form like this Megazord would be amazing.
