You can tell Daitenken was an afterthought compared to it's function as accessories for the 10 piece combo, but it still pulls off the stand-alone mech just fine.

No parts from the other units to fill them in, we’re just suppose to hand wave they are completely empty and yet the frame of the back dumps are able to fully support that mecha There’s suspension of disbelief and then there’s just not even trying to

単体でもガンガン動かせて遊びがいのあるメカ、武器のマウントが出来る機能、ドリル、デカい腕と拳、空飛ぶための翼、後方への攻撃手段、下駄(コロ走行可)、バリエーション豊かで違和感無い換装、換装メカのみでのロボ化、そして全合体……
戦隊ロボないし合体ロボの良い所や欲しい部分全部乗せしてるからこそ、渡し船の中でダイボウケン系統は今でも一番大好きなロボなんです。
勿論、唯一無二の個性を持つサイレンビルダーも、等身大仲間キャラとしても活躍したズバーンも、迫力満点のダイボイジャーも大好きです。

特に劇場版のダイタンケンの合体サプライズには驚いた。
劇中ではダイボイジャーでも違和感なく轟轟武装してたけど玩具では………………。
ダイタンケンに出来るのほんと偉い。最近のロボにもこういうの欲しいよね
最終ロボが巨大戦艦っていうのが戦隊では珍しいモチーフで好き

For all of its flaws, Operation Overdrive had awesome zords, and the combinations could give the Wild zords a run for their rainbow

ダンプの荷台が分割されて巨大アームになるという構造設計の変態ぶりがもう最高過ぎるw
※よりもっと変態なのは、合体で余る初期メンのメカを足のデッドスペースに合体して仕舞えるっていう無駄のなさw
換装合体した時にイエローやピンクを足の中に収納できるの余剰にならなくていいね👍
