I might pick the DAC one if they ever go on sale. Love the pink lid, but as for now I’ll just use my EW.

Question... If you turn the EW individual containers do they fit depth wise into the DAC tray? Just curious 🤔

@@DiamondsAreAGirlsBestFriend16 Awesome! I was thinking about getting one of the DAC because I already have three of the EW knockoffs and love them. I have a different assortment of containers throughout the three. I'm thinking that the different sizes in the DAC may be helpful. If I can mix and match between the four I may be golden...lol
I’m a beader and ran across this video because I was curious about what’s out there to replace the now discontinued EW trays. I’ll stick with my EW. DAC’s extra expense for what it is isn’t worth it. I also hate the pink lid with the huge logo in the center. I like being able to see the colors of my beads through something clear and not something that’s going to distort the colors with a pink tinge and big logo. I don’t know about the knock off EW trays but based on what I’ve been hearing I’m not impressed with them either. Yeah I can always just take off the pink lid to view colors clearly but I don’t want to be bogged down with removing the pink lid on multiple trays just to find the bead or beads I want. I imagine it would be the same for those who do diamond art but since I know very little about that craft I admit I may be making an erroneous assumption.
Ah, I can see that being a problem for you especially since you’d need to see individual beads for what you are doing and not just taking out a whole tray for a DP project. I’m glad the original EW already works so well for you!
I haven't purchased them yet as I have enough EW to last awhile. I have never had my EW change color on me, and after the first time or two they are not possible to open. I have done a few confetti heavy paintings, and I open about 75 containers a day at least, and no pain in my fingers. The first day or so yes. Also, I have to disagree (and many others do too) about not having the smallest container. With the companies increasing color count on paintings, I would say 75% of my colors will fit in a small container. I am sure this is a great product, but I don't see that it's that far above EW containers. Maybe it will be when they change a few things (and the price).

I like to work with the containers standing upright, that seems to not be possible with DAC’s

The DAC are beautiful and I did really want to purchase when they released. Until I saw the price (I had a feeling it would be high as the price of everything is higher where I live.) 75$ (cad) for one set of containers just isn’t in my budget as I’ve heard the same from many others. I could probably buy around 3-4 of the EW knock offs for that price, after shipping. (DAC is 75$ plus 28$ for shipping if I am under the free shipping threshold). I probably might purchase a set at some point anyway, so here’s to hoping they do put the price down a bit at some point😅
Ah I can understand that completely! You do what’s best for you and the EWs are still a very tried and true way that still works great as a storage system!
So DAC are always going on about other companies copying them (as if 🙄)...yet here is a complete copy of the EW containers!! Only difference really is the ridiculously high price point!!
I haven’t heard personally anything about DAC saying things about companies copying them. I would say that all the companies use ideas from each other and do their own twists and improvements. That’s just the nature of a free market. Is a good thing that causes changes and improvements! I’m not sure why so many like to harp on the more successful ones for the sole reason that they are successful. It’s different enough from the EW containers and in my opinion more sturdy. Yes they an are more expensive and that’s a downside but it’s not like they took away EW containers just by making their own but different. People can choose to buy or not to buy

Another thing that's common knowledge is how appallingly they treat both their artists and customers. And you must know what they're doing to Hannah Lynn! I don't know how any TH-camr can support them but I guess all the time they're getting free kits, they will 🤷

I bought 6 of the DAC storage boxes. I like them. I have several EW also. I find all those tiny boxes useless so I prefer DAC. I will likely get 4 more. It is approx a $12 difference between EW and DAC. You automatically get 10% off using the DAC code. So, $28 EW $40 DAC. Twelve dollars is very little difference in my opinion. The DAC almost looks like it is too overengineered, especially since it is for storing fairly light items in double containers. Good thing I dislike pink, so I can live with my EW 😅
It’s definitely a personal preference thing. For me it’s a sensory thing too. I like the feel of DAC best so it’s more enjoyable for me. But I do also still love the EW. Both are great and enjoyable!

I skipped, as a person that lives outside amarica (Europe specifically) its way too expensive i belive its around 68 USD. I do like the look and all but I could get 2-3 knock off EW for that price. (I can't get the actual EW anywhere so it has to be the knock off) 😂so I do hope they lower their price if so maybe I'll pick one up! ❤
Ah man I’m hoping prices lower for you too with both types of sets. You really can’t go wrong with the knock off EWs too. I mean comparing them is one thing, but if you just take the one by itself, it still really works well as a storage system!
@DiamondsAreAGirlsBestFriend16 I agree I do have the knock off and luckily I do not have the problem where the lid opens up when it's sideways!
Stop stacking them. You are asking for scratches. Not saying you but ppl complaining about normal wear and tear is silly. Nothing stays pristine but how you treat it matters.
The yellowing also depends on environment. It is oxidation.
Ah that makes sense about the yellowing. Yeah the scratches are just bound to happen
The DAC is very pretty, i love the pink, but i just dont think its worth it. Yes the plastic is better quality, but having better plastic does not benefit it's purpose. If someone wants it because it looks better, thats great. But its like buying a standard car vs a sports model. They both get you to work, they both run ac and heating, the only difference is how fancy you look while driving it.
If the price goes down i will definitely buy just for the pink cover though 😂 I can be vain and a sucker for cute packaging.
I can see that argument! I do think that quality is higher for the DAC so you’re definitely paying for quality. It looks like if these sell well the price will be eventually going down. And they are 44.99 not the 53.99 like I say in the video.
