Same here in Oregon. A half inch of rain sounds heavenly.
@mscott976 right now we have a 75,000 acre fire in the Bighorn mountains and on the east face. Many evacuation and the north end is completely shut down. Like the Yellowstone fires of 88, snow is the only thing that will put it out. No moisture at all in the 7-10 day forecast. Sad
@@nedheadwyoming how sad! The west sure has suffered from fires in the last few years. I had three family members lose everything in 2020. Several entire towns were destroyed. Still a lot of rebuilding to be done.

Joel, weather people never get it perfect. I live in the same area that Sadie is from. Many, many years ago a hurricane was sitting 90 miles off shore. The weather people claimed it was going to be 60% chance of rain. Guess what? They were way wrong! it was over 100% chance that we got rain. It rained for over 24 hours. Weather is always changing. Pay more attention to the radar vs what the chance of rain is. Weather radar does not lie. Anyway, the work on the barn is moving along nicely! Can not wait for the next installment of the Barn Build 2024. Thank you for sharing your world. See you in the next one.
We can't even trust the radar, yesterday radar showed no rain close by and it was pouring rain. Two hours later it showed us getting rain and the sun was shining 😂
Get a winch that runs off your tractor battery. Tractor Supply has these, often on sale. Keep the tractor on dry ground and winch from there. You will probably discover other uses for the winch.
I commiserate with you. I can’t depend on the weather forecast here either.

I've been thinking and you might have brought this up but having the hay barn down there in the pasture will be safer if you ever have a fire. I know, I shouldn't even bring it up but it will keep the horses safer if anything ever happens. Watching from Panama City Florida, USA. 🇺🇸🦅 !

Great job. If you can move the stockpiled material in the rain without slipping. The piles are probably still dry inside and not as heavy as they will be wet. Looking good. If you dug up any sandy material, it may be nice to use it for your barn floor instead of capping pad with clayey materials which holds moisture longer and Drys hard.
Joel, I live in central Texas where we have had a drought for Years. You hear about our coastal floods, but we have been without rain for over 3 months. We never complain about rain. Pump it into a tanker and ship it to the Rockdale TX area. The farmers will be grateful.

It's headed for us in the Tampa Bay area again. They've been working 24/7 in my town cleaning the debri off the curbs from the flooded houses from the last one.

The quad rescue mission started to look a little dicey as I saw the tractor sinking in as you were backing toward the quad, but no problem . . . success! Also, you just go on your rants about the weather. It helps relieve the stress. Plus, I think we all like a good rant once in a while.

To late in the year to grow enough and to dry/bale.
