This video is full of knowledge....it has really put forth points to be taken into account that we need to educate our society to a great extent and just merely increasing our population won't work; we require quality education so that we can bring about quality individuals....❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. It is not about politics but the reality and fears of South India. They are feeling that there will not be any greater say of their MPs or the nos will become irrelevant as it will not affect the majority for forming the Government even if a party looses entire South India. Hope the issue would be dealt with courage and in positive note to have a united India. Jai Hind.
We have delayed this problem for fifty years, but we cannot postpone it any longer. We have to face it now. What is this delimitation? We have to explain this concept now. Articles 82 and 170 of the Constitution are designed to preserve the principles of democracy. They provide a system in which the value of every citizen's vote, irrespective of their place of residence, should be absolutely and totally equal. It should not work in a way where, for instance, 10,000 people are electing a representative to the Lok Sabha, while elsewhere, 1 million people are electing a representative to the Lok Sabha. If this happens, the value of the vote of those 10,000 people would be much higher than that of the 1 million people. The biggest concern here is the interlock between federalism and democracy. The federal structure of India and the democratic system of India are getting intertwined. How are they getting intertwined? In 1991, we opted for delimitation. Now, what is delimitation? Take any constituency, whether it is for the Vidhan Sabha or the Lok Sabha. By adjusting the boundaries, they delimited the entire thing. They adjusted the figures accordingly and then readjusted the boundaries. When we started, the total number of Lok Sabha seats was less than 500. They gradually increased from 1951 to 1961 to 1971 and are now approximately 550. It was only in 1971 that we realized that the increase in the number of seats was due to states with rapidly growing populations, which had minimal contributions to human development and were highly underdeveloped. These states were highly incentivized, and their representation in the Lok Sabha increased rapidly. Now, if their Lok Sabha representation increases, it reflects in the Rajya Sabha as well. -Acharya Ji❤❤❤
