@ He mentioned our neighbours which, excluding Nepal and Bhutan, are all Muslim dominated. While his party politics of Muslim appeasement is well known by all, I appreciated the civil manner in which the debate happened. Of late due to excessive foreign interference popularly known as the deep state, a lot of disruptions are happening in the Parliamentary sessions due to which important issues are being sidelined. There’s a full version containing a supplementary question as well available on YT which I found to be a civil exchange of words. That being said, I’m pro Bharat and do not support the views of the opposition.
The India-Sri Lanka the relations reached its lowest point during Indira Ganshi & Rajiv Gandhi led Govts., with Indira Gandhi turning a blind eye to appeals by SL to not permit military training camps to SL Tamil militants in Tamil Nadu. The infringement into Sri Lankan airspace by India & arm twisted induction of IPKF during Rajiv's time was another sore point. The Hambantota Port development project was first offered to India during Congress Govt. in 2007-8 by Mahinda Rajapakse Govt. but India turned down. It is thereafter that SL approached China.
Modi's Govt. needs to work harder & smarter to win friends in South Asia. No benefit in pointing to failure of past Governments. Reject the approach of top level visits once in a decade or two. There must be constant contact with neighbours, support for their challenges, support for education (more scholarships eg.), housing & health sectors, etc. Analyse the reasons for India's neighbours turning to China eg. Get to the root cause without fear or favour. Only due diligence can suggest solutions to build trust & confidence for mutual benefit.

The neighbours specially NEPAL & SRI LANKA does not appreciate indian interference in their own matters.
Let them run as they wish. Forcing them to do as we wish will only increase resentments.
There is no interference. They blame us to hide their own corruption.
What did we force them to do? Don't give silly excuses

Congress was in government in that time 😅 not BJP .
This man is something else. He is always ready with facts and figures and is no nonsense guy. Opposition is always stumped, whenever he speaks. Extremely fortunate as indian to have such an external affairs minister so as PM Modi in his cabinet
first time I agreee wid the Congress...now this is real opposition...very nice question put up by Congress MP.....i wonder why congress does not act like this as mature opposition......i m totally BJP follower but respect this question of congress MP.....BJP is here at totaly at fault to hav neighbor first policy
There was no policy towards our neighbours, during congress regime. BJP tried a new strategy but it has not worked. This is all a part of international diplomacy.
Well we the neighbor country doesn't interfer in your country's matter. That's why we don't have India first policy. Stop interfering in our political matters .
INDIA'S NEXT PM.
Well said 👍🏼
Nice reply by Dr. Jaishankar, but I must admit it was a great question too. A debate amongst educated people in Parliament and outside is a treat to hear.
lol it was a question that backfired on the question asker, hear the answer again. manish exposed his own parties partisan politics that disregarded most neighbors and only supported muslim majority neighbors.
They don't give us shit
Minister's reply was like a sixer to the bouncer ball.💪💪. Kudos to sri jayashankar👏👏
Dr.Jai Shankar 🎉🎉🎉brilliant ❤
Modi's Govt. needs to work harder & smarter to win friends in South Asia. No benefit in pointing to failure of past Governments.
Reject the approach of top level visits once in a decade or two. There must be constant contact with neighbours, support for their challenges, support for education (more scholarships eg.), housing & health sectors, etc.
Analyse the reasons for India's neighbours turning to China eg.
Get to the root cause without fear or favour.
Only due diligence can suggest solutions to build trust & confidence for mutual benefit.
Good question and great answer ❤😊
JNU educated foreign minister and finance minister have caused doom for indian economy and security by signing free trade agreements.
Well foreign minister is doing nice work I think you're from madrasa that's you don't know about geopolitics 😂
This is a great conversation. Good question, good answer and knowledgeful insight to people.
BJP has been in power for 10 years. This is a very long time. What are they achieving now; they can't keep hiding behind Congress forever.
Thry have worked on infra, education, security, economy policy etc.
Geopolitics is not a matter of 1+1 = 2. If that was the case many conflicts around the world would have been solved long ago.
Most of our neighbours are religious fanatics and difficult people every one should support our national policy matters
You either blind or just gullible
@@maglev469 I could say the same for you.
Tell me one neighboring country we've great relations with. That's what I'm talking about. 10 years is a good time to develop good relations with neighbors but in reality we've made relations worse with our neighbors. Congress is history; BJP should work on these relations.
Good question and great answer... 👍🏻 😊
No issue for india. Up to neighbour is god decide.
Now maladives u turn to come india for financial help.
But china is building base in Maldives
Jaishankar Sir's articulation and factual answers, loved it.
We need to act like agressive, annex land if in debt........no need to get ego or act like flatter.
lmao, ahahahahaha
Love you Jai Sir😊
Happy to see a rare moment when opposition allowed the parliament to function as it should

Rarely do we see sensible questions. This was a noteworthy difference. I hope parliament proceeding happens without ruckus to enable meaningful dialogue.
I hate that speaker's intervention
Loved the exchange here between the ministers. Very civil- educated- eloquent- precise.
Good question and very good answer by s jaishankar.
Great question from Congress, and quite OK answer from Jaishankar. These kind of questioning in the parliament is necessary for healthy democracy so as govt can be pushed to take good actions.
I hope this is how the parliament stays, a good opposition and a good reply to the opposition, this is the only way india will develop further
Very good question moreover Indian foreign policy is failing clearly for our neighbouring country.
Well respond. Good answer
I Appreciate both of them

Daily sab neighbours ko beggar keh kr soa jatay 😂😂😂😂

Good question also good answer but only present govt shows mirror to opposition, also opposition pulling legs of present govt ,we are not satisfied or Happy,we indian demand India first and strict, selfish foreign policies
