Sri Lankans who learn from free education are not fools. Although Sri Lankans are friendly with ordinary Indians, they never trust the Indian government. They have followed a double standard towards Sri Lanka throughout our known history.
In fact, India and Sri Lanka relations are maintained even today only on the basis of the respect that Sri Lankans have for King Ashoka. From now on, we as Sri Lankans do not trust any leadership related to the Indian state. All Sri Lankans are well aware that the Indian government has deliberately violated the trust of Sri Lanka. But we, as a Buddhist country, are very patient and intelligent in dealing with Indian behavior.
We have seen the policy followed by India regarding Canada. Indians should thank us for not reacting in such a way towards India.

While his party politics of Muslim appeasement is well known by all, I appreciated the civil manner in which the debate happened. Of late due to excessive foreign interference popularly known as the deep state, a lot of disruptions are happening in the Parliamentary sessions due to which important issues are being sidelined. There’s a full version containing a supplementary question as well available on YT which I found to be a civil exchange of words. That being said, I’m pro Bharat and do not support the views of the opposition.

The India-Sri Lanka the relations reached its lowest point during Indira Ganshi & Rajiv Gandhi led Govts., with Indira Gandhi turning a blind eye to appeals by SL to not permit military training camps to SL Tamil militants in Tamil Nadu. The infringement into Sri Lankan airspace by India & arm twisted induction of IPKF during Rajiv's time was another sore point. The Hambantota Port development project was first offered to India during Congress Govt. in 2007-8 by Mahinda Rajapakse Govt. but India turned down. It is thereafter that SL approached China.
