#onepiece #sanji - ภาพยนตร์และแอนิเมชัน
You know Oda initially made Sanji to be French as an inspiritational background, but the Actors pretty much turned him into Kung Fu Gordon Ramsay and that honestly fits hilariously well.
Hilariously enough, Gordon actually knows martial arts as well.
Bro ik roght
Actually he was based off of Steve Buschemi's character from Reservoir Dogs.
The French thing was added way later in an SBS (basically a Q&A) when someone asked where each character would be from if they were in the real world and Oda replied "Well, I’ll just put what fits with the character’s image." then replied with what countries he thinks they look like they'd be from, with Zoro being from Japan/Nami being Swedish/Luffy Brazilian/Sanji French/ etc.
He can still be french, I think he picked up his accent from Zeff and other chefs who he was working with before
@@maximumcockage6503N His image styling may have been but Sanji was French background from the get go. His attack names are french names of body parts. He also speaks french several times. His attack names go back from when Sanji first appeared, so his french origins were obviously allways a thing.
I love who Oda created Sanji’s character.
He kicks, he uses only his feet to fight because his hands are precious, they are meant for cooking and must not get dirty.
they do get dirty, whenever he puts them on the ground to do his chun lee spin kicks
i think its more of not injuring his hand than not getting your hands dirty because well.. the comment above
edit: episode 25
he didn't say dirty,. his hand is only for cooking not fighting..
A cook always washes their hand before handling food, He's more concerned with them breaking and not being able to cook anymore
@@Tighten.
Im pretty sure he puts a lot of stress on his hands whenever he puts them on the ground tho
Can we appreciate just how damn good the kid was in the flashback? The leg scene and his emotional shock at seeing Zeff having eaten his leg was brilliant👏. From someone who had little to no knowledge on One Piece before seeing the live action, I have finally began my journey into the anime and am now on episode 5. No wonder it's such a well beloved series!👏🏴☠️
mate exact same. lowkey think the live action is better vibes, but one piece is crazy good. friends told me it was too long to watch because I hated how long Naruto took to progress, but damn.
the kid actor is great, he's from a show directed by robert downey JR. Sweet Tooth
one year ago the internet start to bully taz skylar because they think he looks like eminem and not sanji, but how wrong they are. he is the most accurate portrayal out of all straw hat crew
In Brazil we say that he look like Rodrigo Faro making a cosplay of Leon( Resident Evil)
Same for Shanks
I can’t decide if saying him look like Eminem is supposed to be an insult or a compliment, but that’s what the internet is; a confusing place. 😂
I’d say shanks and usopp are debatable over him
And fraudhawk
Sanji's story with Zeff is like 50% of his backstory
His full story is a damn trip 😭
his full story story makes grown men cry
Sanji is a royalty & his sister is the one saving his life.
His father too right he's part of the gamma 66 or something?
@@jermaineloreaux5220 pls spoil the whole story here ty
its really sad@@Jagar_Tharn
Zeff is such a 4D character to me. First, he appears as this typical shallow chef who keeps bullying Sanji. Then we got a way deeper side of Zeff. We see him as a kind man and a complicated veteran pirate. Love him so much for building such a great arc for Sanji development
And they do that in minutes of screen time! I loved the live action. It got me to start reading the manga, as my brother hoped.
@@edoboleyn how is it the manga
Sanji’s backstory still had me bawl like a bitch in the Live Action too 😅
More brutal than the anime.
I liked it. But the line by kid sanji " you cut off your own leg?" Came off as cringey.
Theirs moments where you should show not tell in a story.
@@QuazarNovaPrime It follows the manga. In the manga Zeff (if that’s his name) eats his leg, but they censored it in the anime for some reason
@@dehistoriapisciumfish7639 Have a little think about why it was
@@swagdisease7376 Of course I get why. But they have other brutal things and blood that they didn’t censor though and for me it was pretty dumb how they did it in the anime
Sanji deserves more screen time. Taz gives his all to this role. His commitment for training and even learning to cook. I'm really hoping for the second season.
Is there gonna be a second season? Oh great!
bro what are these bot ass comments LOL like dog what does he need to learn to cook for its fucking acting !!! He needs to focus on acting better lmao
i think every cast is
For sure. He's done a great job and I wish his backstory and departure of Baratie was given more time for emotions to build (but hey 8 episodes is a crunch I get it). Really wanted to see more.
I read that Taz got paid the least out of all the main cast. I guess it's because he showed up in less episodes but it's still pretty unfair. He's pretty much the only one that did all the stunts himself and boy did he do a good job.
They cast this show perfectly. Its the reason why this adaptation works where many others have failed.
Rurouni Kenshin live action works very well too
Oda picked all the actors. Thank him.
@@MrJoker190 this and samurai x adaptations might honestly be the best live action manga adaptations
It works because they realise what an adaptation should be : something thats based on a source material and captures the spirit of it, but isnt shackled to it, that makes changes. Because if its either entirely different or exactly the same whats the point
The director read the manga because her son's a big fan of the series.
Zeff being mean so Sanji would leave to follow his dream is such a tear jerker when you realize it.
Man zeff's acting gave me goosebumps
It gave me, Gordon Ramsay vibes 😂
Everytime I think of Sanji I remember that for six episodes the crew didn't know how to boil water. 💀
Zoro and Luffy are both idiots, I’m not sure what everyone else’s excuses are.
I really hope that was just a joke on Ussop’s part, lol 😂
In anime during whole cake island .. Nami let luffy cook , and bro made a catastrophic dish that will kill kaido too just by tasting it 💀 I think it's better not to let luffy or zoro cook anything
1:23 Damn the delivery of "I'm just helping you clean up" sounds like he's on the verge of crying, such great acting on both their part
Zeff is the most on the nose casting ever! It looks just like him!! That actor did an amazing job!
I felt sad when I saw Sanji's past. In the anime it's touching and sad but in live action is even more sad. They did amazing work taking the strong feelings from the anime and making them even stronger in live action
Don't forget about GERMA did to sanji too..
Sanji potrayal is the best. Not only Taz himself, but that young actor got it too
The young actor has his own well-known series on netflix, too. He's in sweet tooth.
The kid is not really good
@@MikasaeaAaah_Aahkercmoan Kid Usopp maybe but not kid Sanji he's great
Not even close to a good portrayal of sanji. He's not a perv womanizer in the live action. The relationship between him and zef is different as well. Live action sanjis farewell had no heart. Anime sanji got on his knees crying and made everyone else cry. This show sucked.
@@gordonbombay6627 Yeah, it sucked so much that it's being a complete success in every possible way, lol
I think sanji was perfectly executed. He brings out all of sanjis best quirks and qualities with none of the bullshit horny idiot bs in the anime. He is my favorite character in the LA by far. There's even more potential with Mr Prince and his backstory.
Thank you taz you reminded me of how awesome sanji is as a character.
The bullshit horny idiot BS IS the character. Gawd, I knew this was going to be lame.
I agree! And I love that they kept Nami's hypersexualisation at bay in the live action. I HATE IT in the Anime, it's just WRONG. And Sanji's bleeding every time he sees a woman... damn, I love this live action so much! It's sooo much better than the Anime :)
Making Sanji respect women was actually Taz's idea.
@@deathbykonami5487 He, already, respected women. That's not respect, it's an insult. To them, and to himself.
@@karybooks to be fair the nose bleeding didn't come until much later, at Baratie he wasn't much different from the LA, he was just a lot cheesier in his "love declaration". He even fell asleep surrounded by women hugging him at the party after Arlong Park. I'll never forgive Oda for that damn perv gag he pushed on him so hard at a point (and the anime made it even worse, putting it in a lot more scenes, the manga is not as bad).
Scenes with Zeff made me cry especially the stranded islet and farewell scene. Also so much good in the japanese dub.
Zeff is easily the show stealer for the entire first season for me. He did SO MUCH to make the season feel real and the world feel raw and rough. Absolutely perfect casting and performance.
The actor for *Zeff* was absoluely amazing!
I like how Nami hugged zoro and ussop and not sanji 😂
Bro got rejected 😂😂
I have trouble imagining this sanji saying "Nami Swaaaaannn"
@@walden6272 cuz hes not cuz thats Japanese lol
He's just joined the crew, I was not surprised
@@SaltySeabug I also can't picture him walking like a ballerina when Nami comes near him.
Taz as sanji is so well done...damn good casting honestly...
Craig Fairbrass killed it as Zeff
Fun fact, he also voice acted Gaz and Ghost in the OG Modern Warfare trilogy.
@@MasterBeast46 thats why his voice is so similar
He looks exactly like zeff omg
Little trivia, Taz is the one recommends Craig to OPLA team!
Y'all have to praise Lil Sanji, the actor did well!
OREGANO IS FOR SAVAGESSS!!!
MORE OREGANO
Kid Sanji's actor is definitely one of the rare good child actors. Easily the best child actor in the LA.
He was the absolute best
👍
A lot of people focus on Luffy's casting being perfect but to me Sanji was the best casted character by far. There seemed to be no flaw in the translation to the live action on the characters essence.
I like Inoki and to be fair to him he did get the hardest character to emulate. He needs more moxie in his intimidation and conviction. I'm having trouble believing he wants it like he will die for it. Everything else is pretty spot on.
Iñaki
i have one gripe . sanji is supposed to be french, oda's already said that several times. his special attacks are also named after french cooking techniques so him being british is a bit weird but Taz is a great actor in this role nontheless
@@ginyu4665nationality does not matter
What matters is the acting
I like Zolo
@@ginyu4665 Eva Green is French. She has a British accent. Quite a number of French actor do especially those educated in England. An accent does not change anything about where they represent. Also, if you want to know if he is French - his fight call outs are in French.
Honestly I adore Taz's Sanji and pray for a season 2 so he can get more into the role. I NEED live action Mr. Prince! They may not have gotten much time but he encapsulates Sanji extremely well. He understands Sanji's heart.
did not go in the show thinking i was going to cry almost literally every episode, but I had almost forgotten Sanji's backstory and past with Zeff. The show touched my heart.
The sets and actors nailed it
I'm amazed they kept his pervy/flirty side without making it cringe
Wish they removed it completely. He's too good-looking to be like that.
@@Net_Fluxthey made his less creepy and more rizzler
@@prinzdenaxExactly
@@Net_Flux Removing a core aspect of his personality, would make Sanji a different character completely. And why cant good looking people be flirty or openly like women?
If it was done in Japan it would have been so over the too
i honestly love the live action sanji more than the anime. the actor portrayed him so good!
Curious how much more feels and pain we’ll all feel when sanji’s true backstory is adapted in live action, it surely made me bawl in the anime
Whole cake arc is still miles away 😂
even in the live action thats gonna take years
Bro rly thinks he getting a live action to the whole cake arc 🤣🤣🤣
What I like most about this adaptation of Sanji is that he is just a guy with a golden heart, which is the core of his character. Not the gentlemanly gestures or the fighting capabilities, his heart is the most important aspect.
Sanji is top 3 in kindness next to Luffy and Chopper, both children at heart. Sanji had the harshest story to still be soo kind. It's unnatural really.
The scenes between Zeff and Sanji were top notch for me. Loved their dynamic (I kno they already worked together and knew each other) and the humor in it. And I'm even not mad about missing out a little on the drama on the Orbit for the comic relief. That were good scenes! I love them so much!!!
Man you have to admire the commitment of everyone in this series. Despite some flaws (Koby and the marine people having more screen time than Sanji AND Usopp as one) I'm really impressed by how good everyone is in their respective roles. I'm rooting for this series success for sure.
Yea I have the same complains regarding the screen time of the main boys sanji and Ussop. But hey. It is the first season and as we all know how the story went the parts where they did originally do have less time with Ussop and sanji (except for syrup village. Should’ve shown more of Ussop there in the LA. We barely seen anything from him) hopefully these two get to shine more in season 2 ! (Aka mr Prince scene and Ussop’s first declaration of luffy being pirate king)
More koby screentime is amazing af tho
Also, Garp seems too serious here
@@hafirenggayuda what I hope they do to garp is that after the whole season one fiasco, he starts to chill down and half retire until marineford. If that’s how they handle it then it would make a lot of sense as after season one he’s stepping down for the new generation to go up now. And then that is when we will see the chill ass garp we know and love.
@@WillieG-jh6jzyeah he will probably appear again yo tell Luffy about the emperors and his father in Water 7
Surprisingly I watched OP live action and I was expecting less from Sanji and Usopp actors but they ended up being two of my favorite roles in live action. Actors did a great job.
Also Buggy is quite cool in live action.
Nose? Now it's in my head! GrRR!
Wow, never imagined Netflix would pull this of. It shows that having the manga creator overwatching the creation of the show was an essential role in bringing this show to be a succes and loyal to the source material.
He looks too cool for a man who almost died by blood loss when he 1st time seeing real mermaids 😂
Cleaning up sanji actualy massive plus for the series.
The first mermaid the strawhats saw was Kokoro at water seven. I know its hard to digest for every man, but gotta accept it man.
Anime/Live action Sanji is always a cool man, only zorotard downplay him just to justify that zoro is stronger, I mean yes he is stronger but why fans needs to downplay sanji everytime
sanji was always portrayed as the cool suave cook if you tone down his simping this is what happens.
Yeaj the mermaids in fishman island
Fallen in love with Sanji all over again. I absolutely adore that man.
Sanji to me always had the best backstory of all the strawhats and I love the stuff that happens later that expands it even more. Hope the live action makes it that far and that Sanji gets to All Blue.
Whoever did the casting deserves to cast every liveaction anime adaptation from now on.
Probably oda himself
Even the mustache work for live action zeff, and actor himself
I thought I heard somewhere that he did have a huge say in the main case
@@magekazin Oda picked out the main cast and a few members for the crews like Shanks.
nah, a couple white people from the anime are black, a guy in the anime is a girl, hairs off
inaki is the only poor choice
@@aaronbuffalo7769 funnily enough, Oda actually said Inaki was the most like his character - luffy
This footage from the show is better written and acted than anything I've seen come out of mainstream theaters in the last 5 years. I hope high hopes for the future of this show!
Amazing tribute. It feels like an official highlights
This man was born to play Sanji! He made me love the character even more.
And people were trash talking about sanji during trailer lol
Taz was not only born for this role, he also went through serious training.
Zoro has always been my favourite. But I was impressed with Sanji in the live action.
I would have disagreed if said actor wasn't doing everything in his power to be said character. With that said, I'm impressed. I want more.
My favorite strawhat! Taz Skylar absolutely nailed his role! ❤❤❤
I love the Zoro and Sanji rivalry here, just as much as I love it in the anime
This is exactly what the show needed, some moments that were intense story/ heartfelt moments needed actual orchestral music to bring up the scene more.
He is my favourite character of this show, extremely charismatic and charming, I love his fighting style too I hope we sees some bond between him and Nami, cause he surely likes her
Agree!
Sadly this will never happen. That's what Oda wanted. As in the manga, there are no relationships between the crew members. Everything fans make up or think they see is imaginary.
The end of Sanji's importance in the anime was also the end of my love for One Piece =(
@@scherry2900 What did happen to him? Was knocked out of the story or something?
@@Daniel-rd9uw Don't worry he will stay in the crew. I prefer not to write anything specific here so as not to spoil others.
There will be no Romance with in the crew ,, oda said that in sbs ... plus sanji got a bride ... and she likes him like he likes her but the only problem is age
Taz did so well for Sanji. He’s my favorite character in the manga/anime, and taz did him justice.
Say what you will about Luffy, but he genuinely does try to help people. His attempts to help people like Sanji were genuine. His actor did a great job.
THEY DID HIS CHARACTER SO WELL ESPECIALLY TAZ HIMSELF, HE DESERVES ALL THE APPRECIATION HE GOT
I know the relationship between Sanji and Zeff seemed dysfunctional, but in the end, all Zeff wanted was for Sanji to follow his dreams. The last scene between them two was very heartbreaking. Talk about heart strings being pulled
It just hit me. Zeff said "this is all the food we've got" and allowed Sanji to misinterpret him without correction.
Everyone's talking about Sanji as a character, but this edit is great! I especially loved at the end when you synced up adult Sanji saying "I'm gonna find the all blue" with kid Sanji on screen, delizioso!
That was in the show actually lol
We must protect Sanji at all costs! ❤
I watched One Piece animated series since my teens, tbh among straw hat crew dreams and drivens, Nami and Sanji's are my most favorite. Imagine to truely adventure to the land of wonder, to find the rare spices, the ugly fishes, the strange sea creatures, and then put them all on them to map of the world. Man, these are my childhood dreams.
I thrive to be a good chef like him, Sanji is my favorite character and I was so happy to see him being portrayed in the live action by Taz. He did the character justice and I’m loving it!!
Sanji's fighting style is dope and badass at the same time!
Taz killed it. He has been fantastic. Zeff was a fucking boss.
I’m not crying, you’re crying
英語は全然わからないけど
サンジくんのクールで
度を超えた優しさが伝わります!!
"Ooh, back for seconds! Must'a liked it!"
I just love the way he delivers that line! And how Zeff calls out "Hey Sanji!"
There is so much to love about this adaptation! Can't wait for season 2!
Taz, if you're reading this, you're the best part of the series.
Sanji was instantly my favourite member of the strawhats when i first saw him back in the old days of one piece
It is so fucking true! Your dreams do define you and give you purpose. It helps drives the core person you are and should one dream die, another should take its place to keep you yearning for life! Without it, you become a shell of a person and life becomes unbearable. Thank you for the reminder Oda!
I just love this version’s portrayal of Sanji and Zeff father/son dynamic
All these cast are not A listers and I do not know anyone. But yet they have great acting skills and they made good character choices
It’s Oda’s casting and it makes sense, people assumed one piece was a fighting shonen when in reality it’s an adventure shonen, the show doesn’t need recognition to tell it’s story, because the actors tell the story exactly as intended
@@pikabrook3724my man
A. Taz is GREAT as Sanji
B. One of the best edits I have ever seen
They talk toxic to each other but the truth is they care in each other as father and son (absolutely not judge)
Thank you Taz for making Sanji so eye catching ❤ ❤❤
This is the most perfect cast for the crew. Absolutely stellar performance.
Sanji
The crush that never fades
Sanji left baratie is the first scene on one piece that made me "cried". D*mn oda..
He has the most tragic backstory.
Him, robin or brook
Sanji bullied by his family, imprisoned and have to escape
Robin everyone she loves is dead
Brook he saw his crew dying one by one and probably will happen again with strawhat
of the strawhats, him and robin are tied.
Chopper is pretty tragic too imagine feeding your own dad with poisonous plant thinking it would cure his illness.
Bro. Nami's mother was killed by arlong in front of her eyes.
There is no point in comparing because you can't compare pain and trauma in a scale. They all are people who are broken in some way and have found a family for themselves
@@forever8879He has more
Every character in the one-piece live action is perfect. Their action, style, and personality all match very well with the original One piece. Truly classic work by everyone. I wish they gave good screen time to Sanji.
Sanji easily has the best backstory of all the Strawhats
Hope he has more screentime in S2, given there's still like 98% of story from the anime they can adapt. 😌
Taz played Sanji very well!
Nearly the whole cast was amazing to tbh. I especially love Mihawk, Sanji, and Nami.
04:01 Sanji moment

I swear they nailed all the heart-wrenching scenes.
I was already bawling out on the father-son dynamic of Long John Silver and Jim Hawkins from "Treasure Planet", you're making me bawl again on Zeff and Little Sanji.
I love Sanji so fucking much. And this adaptation? Dear fucking god I am impressed.
Thank god I’m not only one that was simping hard for Live Action Sanji 😍😍😍
The more I hear about the behind the scenes, the more respect I have for this actor.
He’s such a sweet boy, actual cinnamon roll.
"It's one thing to have a dream, it's another to go after it." well said
This is the toughest live action to pull off but they did it. Bravo 👏
This is a small portion of what sanji goes through... wait til you see *before* he got to the ship as an apprentice kid cook.
yeah my guy gets not one but TWO tragic backstories.
They have enough material to do a movie about Sanji alone, and other pirates from OP universe.
Taz did amazing as sanji ♡
Fun fact : Taz Skylar was born in Spain 🇪🇸. Found out when I saw him and luffy talk Spanish together in a video
Zeph looks like he’s played by Gordon Ramsey😂😂
You know its good when people make edits like this
This is my favourite character from one piece❤thank you for the incredible edit✨
The actor did an absolutely amazing Job, he learned how to cook and fight to do all his stunts.... Honestly chapeau
The music cutting out near the end so Sanji could talk was fucking amazing.
The actor looks very cool
Definetely fit alot with the character
Finaly we have a really good liveaction of One Piece
Can't wait to see more
i love sanji live action sm
This is why Sanji is my favourite nakama.
Gotta love how they looked for actors who’d actually fit the nationalities Oda said each strawhat would have.
Now this Sanji is a true gentleman imo
